The Halloween Incident

“Well,” Tristan gave an exaggerated sigh, “It looks like I don’t have a date any more.”
“That’s a real shame. A pretty girl like you.” Tristan still couldn’t be certain if the guy thought he was really a girl or was just into the whole costume thing,
“Yeah it is.” Tristan leaned against the bar beside the guy and ran his stilettoed foot up and down the guy’s leg. He wasn’t objecting to the contact and quite frankly Tristan didn’t care if he thought he was a girl or knew he was a guy because he was gonna kiss him no matter what. Danny had dared him, and he never chickened out of a Danny dare, “I’d like a drink, you gonna buy me one?” he asked,
“Ok.” The guy smiled and turned to the barman. Tristan turned with him, his eyes daring the barman, who knew him, to say anything. He leaned in close to the guy’s ear and whispered as quietly as he could in a bar full of people dressed in weird costumes and making as much noise as they could,
“I think I need to do something to make my boyfriend jealous.” The guy turned to him, his eyes wide,
“What did you have in mind?” he asked, licking his lips. Tristan did not need a second invitation. He closed his mouth around the guy’s and stuck his tongue down his throat without any hesitation. The guy was so wasted he didn’t even put up a fight. His tongue joined in the little game of tonsil hockey and before he knew it Tristan had been pulled into a tight embrace. The guy was taller than Tristan, despite the stilettos. Tristan curled his fingers into the guy’s hair and pulled him further into the kiss, determined to enjoy it as much as he could.
Several people wolf whistled and cheered as they got into it a little more than Tristan had really expected. The guy was pushing him backwards across the bar for all as if trying to dominate the kiss. Tristan hadn’t expected this, if he pushed his hand any further up his leg he was gonna feel that he wasn’t kissing a girl. He was still convinced the guy thought he was a chick, especially by the way he was kissing him. Jees, were straight guys always so dominant when they kissed? He didn’t know if he was enjoying it or not.
Danny and their friends had watched Tristan play his little game and had all cheered when he had succeeded in playing his trick. The kiss lasted longer than they expected though and Danny, and some of the others started to get a little antsy. Steph put her hand on Danny’s arm in concern,
“Think we should go rescue him?” she asked,
“Which one?” Danny asked with raised eyebrows. Steph’s grip tightened and she gave a gasp of horror,
“Tristan, definitely, Danny. Troy is coming.” They both looked across the bar to see, that Troy Parker was indeed approaching the kissing couple.
Danny couldn’t remember whether Troy had been in the bar when they had arrived, so couldn’t be sure whether he had seen what his and Tristan’s costumes were. The guy certainly didn’t look angry, he did seem a bit amused though. That could change in a big hurry. Danny swore as he pushed past several wolf whistlers to grab Tristan’s arm. He pulled him away and through the crowd just as Troy reached them,
“Hey.” The guy shouted but Danny had pulled Tristan back to their booth and pushed him, protesting, into the furthest corner of it where, surrounded by a cocoon of their friends he could not be seen by the guy he had just kissed,
“Woo wee.” He yelled, slapping his hands down on the table, “That was awesome. I think you all owe me a treat.” He high fived everyone there and Danny shook his head laughing,
“We sure do, guys, a deal is a deal.” He approached the bar where Troy and his friend were having a discussion about what had just happened,
“She was hot, man. Did you see where she went?” he was asking Troy, his words slurred,
“No man. Someone pulled her away.” Troy was saying. Shit, had Tristan’s act even fooled Troy? That guy deserved an Oscar, although he was a drama major so there was no real surprise that he knew how to act.
The kissed guy turned back to the bar with a “Damn!” shaking his head and scanning the room again. He noticed Danny and recognised him as the guy who had dumped his hot kisser on the floor earlier on,
“Hey dude, where’s your girlfriend?” he asked,
“Why?” Danny said, sullenly and giving him what he hoped was a dirty look,
“Because she gives hot kisses, man. You shoulda held onto her better.” He was taunting, Danny knew,
“Yeah, well you’re welcome to her because she’s a slut.” Danny growled. Troy stood in between them before there was any more nastiness,
“Oh look, if it isn’t Fanny Taylor.” He sneered, “Where’s your faggy roommate, Fanny?” he asked,
“I don’t know, Toy boy” Danny sneered back, “why don’t you ask your faggy friend here, he just had his tongue down his throat.” Probably not the best strategy to spill the beans so soon after the deed, but he couldn’t resist and it was worth it just to see the looks on their faces. He quickly grabbed the drinks he had just paid for and disappeared before they could say anything else. He didn’t see the dark, angry look that Troy was giving him and his group, especially Tristan. He was patting the back of his mortified friend and reassuring him that Tristan and all his fag loving friends would get what was coming to them for pulling that particular stunt.
Chapter 3: Repercussions and Scary Twists
As Danny returned to the booth with his drinks he passed Tristan excusing himself for a washroom break. He caught his friend’s arm,
“Be careful, dude, Troy and his lackeys are on the war path after that stunt we just pulled.” He warned his friend. He indicated Troy and the guy Tristan had just kissed with a curt flick of his head. Tristan stared them down, pursing his lips, then blew them both a kiss and waved sassily. Troy curled his lip and turned away, leading his friend in the opposite direction. Danny distracted him with a squeeze of his arm, “Hey. You going to the washroom?” he asked, Tristan nodded and turned to leave. Danny stopped him again, “Do you want me to come with you?” he asked, instantly regretting it when he saw the jaunty look on Tristan’s face,
“What, because we’re dressed as girls we have to go to the washroom in pairs?” he asked, his tongue in his cheek, “Or are you comin’ on to me and you want a piece o’ the action?” Danny shook his head, smiling,
“Forget it asshole.” He laughed, “I was just showin’ concern for a friend who just made Troy Parker into an arch enemy.” Tristan chuckled,
“Like we were best friends before, dude.” He laughed sardonically, “I think I c’n handle Troy. Even dressed like this.” he indicated his costume with a wave of his hands. He glanced down at Danny’s hand, still on his arm. Danny was such a good friend. He covered the hand with his own and met Danny’s serious, grey eyes, “Thanks fer lookin’ out fer me though, bud.” He gave Danny a half smile, no smirking, no cockiness, and he left for the washroom.
Danny watched Tristan as he crossed the bar towards the men’s room. He hoped he wasn’t desperate to go because he was stopped by a number of people saying hi, hugging him. One guy even grabbed him and kissed him full on the lips. Danny sniggered. Tristan was so popular, everyone loved him.
Tristan eventually made it to the washroom where he struggled with his skirt and suspenders. Giggling uncontrollably and being drunk simply made it worse. He might have looked great in the costume but he sure knew why he wasn’t a transvestite. Women’s clothes were just too fussy: too many buttons and bits of elastic that caught your skin. He was only glad he had waxed his legs. That was another good reason not to be a woman, because waxing fucking hurt. Especially the closer it got to the groin.
Tristan finished up and turned to wash his hands. He had been the washroom’s only occupant but now he heard footsteps behind him as he stood at the sink. He glanced up at the mirror to check out who just walked in. He gasped and turned around. Standing behind him was Troy Parker. Tristan had assured Danny that he could handle the guy but the look on Troy’s face told him he was a whole lot of angry, and that made him more dangerous than usual. T
roy sneered at Tristan’s momentary loss of his usual calm cockiness. Tristan recovered quickly though and leaned nonchalantly back against the sinks,
“Well, looky here.” He drawled, “If it ain’t my favourite Troy Boy.” Tristan examined his own well manicured and painted nails, “How’s that sexy friend o’ yours? Lookin’ fer a date? I think I might be free Wednesday.”
“He ain’t lookin’ fer nothin’ from you, fag.” Troy sneered, “He thought you were a girl.”
“Well that’s his own fault fer bein’ so fuckin’ wasted that he didn’t know the difference between a girl ‘n’ a real man.”
Troy took a step closer and although Tristan’s cocky expression did not change his body tensed, ready to defend himself if Troy tried to hit him,
“There ain’t nothin’ real or man about you, fag. You stay away from my friends, y’ hear?” Troy stuck a finger in Tristan’s face. He regarded it for several seconds then simply laughed,
“Or what, Troy Boy?” he asked, “What are you afraid will happen? D’ya think I’ll turn ‘em all gay and they’ll come and join my happy little rainbow lovin’ fagfest?”
Troy grabbed Tristan’s school tie so quickly that Tristan didn’t have time to react. Troy pulled him close until Tristan could feel his breath on his face and smell the alcohol too. Tristan’s eyes never left Troy’s but there was a hint of fear there now, because Troy was bigger and angrier,
“You are so full of yourself, faggot.” Troy spat at him, “You strut about like you own the place and think you can just have whatever you want. Didn’t anyone ever tell you the World ain’t like that? Didn’t anyone ever tell you that fer some people, real life gets in the way and they c’n never have what they want no mater how close it is?” Troy was growling, but the words were not what Tristan was expecting at all. He hadn’t expected any words. He had expected to be flat on the floor now with at least a fat lip, possibly some blood; but certainly not this. His confusion must have registered in his deep blue eyes because Troy released his hold on Tristan’s tie. Tristan could see indecision and uncertainty in Troy’s eyes, something he didn’t ever expect either. It made Troy seem vulnerable somehow,
“Jees, Troy, what the hell was that? Were you showin’ a human side no one ever seen in you before?”
“Shut the fuck up, Tristan.” Troy spat, “You know nothing about me, so just shut the fuck up.” he turned away and Tristan realised he was upset. He sighed, not sure why he was feeling sympathy towards this asshole, but Tristan Gillman had a human side too. He reached out a hand to lay it reassuringly on Troy’s arm,
“Hey, dude, I’m sorry if my stunt upset you ‘n yer friend. I’ll stay away from him and the others, if that’s what you want.” The fact that Troy had called him by his given name for perhaps the first time in their acquaintance was not lost on Tristan,
“I didn’t even think you knew my name. I just got used t’ you callin’ me fag.”
“Yeah? Well that’s what you are!” Troy spat, shaking Tristan’s hand away like it had stung him,
“Well, fuck you, and sorry fer showin’ a little compassion, ‘n apologisin’ fer makin’ an ass o’ yer friend.” Tristan spat back. That was the absolute last time that he showed anything but contempt towards that asshole.
He pushed himself away from the sinks and made to leave. Troy grabbed his arm to stop him and again, so quickly Tristan could not react, he pushed him back against the washroom wall. Tristan closed his eyes and tensed his body waiting for the inevitable punch but it did not come. Instead something else happened that he would never in his wildest imagination ever have thought possible. Suddenly it wasn’t Troy’s fist that was connecting with his face but Troy’s mouth, pushed forcefully against his. Troy’s tongue prised Tristan’s lips open to gain access. Tristan opened his eyes with a startled, if muffled exclamation of surprise. What the fuck?
Troy had pushed him against the wall and had a hand either side of him effectively pinning him and preventing him from getting away. Not that Tristan wanted to get away, because, damn this was hot: perverse, stupid, mindless but damn hot. Tristan’s arms snaked around Troy’s back and pulled him closer. As their bodies came into contact Troy let out a soft moan that sent Tristan’s senses into over load. That and the fact that Troy was sporting the biggest hard on Tristan had ever felt pressed against his thigh. He was hard himself, from the sheer thrill of the kiss.
They broke apart and Tristan pressed his advantage, cupping Troy making the guy gasp with pleasure? Oh my god this was too good to be true,
“Troy Parker, you are havin’ far too much fun here. D’ya wanna take this further, because there’s a cubicle free, just behind you.” Tristan pushed away from the wall, with his hand still on Troy’s bulging groin. He leaned in to kiss him again and Troy accepted it, moaning again. Their tongues brushed again and Tristan thought he was getting the upper hand until suddenly it ended. Troy’s fist came down across Tristan’s face with such force that it sent him flying across the washroom floor to land in a heap in the pools of water and used paper towels beneath the sinks.
He was too stunned to do anything except curl up into a protective ball as Troy walked up to him and gave him a hard, gut splitting kick in the side. Tristan shouted out in pain. Troy knelt down and, with a gentleness incongruous to his actions he lifted the hair of Tristan’s wig out of his bruised face. In a voice, quiet, but none the less angry and threatening he whispered,
“Don’t ever come near me again, you fuckin’ fag, because if I see your faggy face again, I will fuckin’ kill you.” Tristan flinched involuntarily as Troy spat angry spittle into his face with every word.
Then Troy left, leaving Tristan to count his blessings that he hadn’t carried out the threat there and then.
Chapter 4: Repercussions part 2
Danny was beginning to get a little concerned that Tristan hadn’t returned from the washroom yet. He stood in his seat to get a better look in the direction of the door. He didn’t have a very clear view due to the amount of people in the bar. That fact made him feel very anxious,
“Why don’t you go see where he is?” Steph asked, laying a hand on his arm and making him jump. He flashed her a guilty, apologetic smile. The evening had started out with promise when she had sat on his knee after he had tipped Tristan off. He had seen it as a good sign that she had manoeuvred to sit beside him again after he had come back from the bar. Since then though, he didn’t think he had heard a word she or anyone else had said, he was too anxious about Tristan and what Troy might do if he got him alone.
Not that it was possible to be alone in a crowded Student Union Bar at Halloween; but a beating didn’t take long and Troy and his lackeys would only need to catch Tristan alone for a few minutes to get their revenge. Something they could easily organise with little planning in a public bathroom. They just needed enough of them to stop others from getting in until the deed was done,
“Shit.” Danny suddenly exclaimed, shocking everyone. He stood quickly as his view to the washroom was suddenly unimpaired and he could see the guy that Tristan had kissed hanging around outside the door. He swore again when he saw Troy Parker emerge, grab the guy by the arm and disappear in the opposite direction,
“Jason, Reuben, everyone.” He called as he left the booth, “I think Tristan is in trouble.” He ran, pushing past protesting party goers, to get to the bathroom, all the time wishing that he had just gone with him to the bathroom no matter what Tristan had thought about it.
No one in their group needed to be told a second time. Reuben and Jason stood and quickly followed Danny. Scott, Gino and Harry dived across the table to follow close behind. The girls followed too, anxiously asking what was going on.
Danny reached the bathroom first and entered, calling Tristan’s name, trying to swallow a sob of anxiety.
Tristan was pulling himself slowly up to a sitting position using the pipes beneath the sinks. He felt an intense wave of relief at hearing Danny’s voice,
“I’m here, Danny.” He called faintly and Danny turned. He gasped at Tristan’s appearance. His face was covered in blood and his left eye was already swollen and half closed.
