The Everly Davis chronicles Page 13

by Amelia K Oliver

It may have only been a short time, but I am completely in love with both of them. I want them in my life. I don't see any reason at all to wait around and follow social norms. So far, we haven’t followed what’s expected of a relationship anyway. We’re doing this our way, not anyone else's. Once our plans are set, we all make our way downstairs. When we get there though, we find Karl gone.

“He might have some Army business to take care of, I know he’s officially retired but Karl will still have dealings with them no doubt,” Garrot says.

Huh, ok then. Well, time to get on with our day.

THEY DROPPED ME OFF at the supermarket. I'm now waiting outside with a tonne of bags, getting hot in the winter coat I grabbed when we popped home earlier, I wish I had picked up my jacket instead. On the plus side - I have knickers on, so that’s a bonus. It's also hotter than the bowels of hell out here. There’s no food at the house so I knew I’d need to stock up if I'm going to have two huge guys to feed. Something buzzes at the back of my brain. Hmm, what have I forgotten? Oh well, if it’s important, I'll remember later. I send Le a text to tell him I'm finished and ready to be picked up. When I don't get a reply, I try calling him. Before the first ring goes through, a car pulls up in front of me. Karl gets out of the driver’s side, a huge smile on his face. Ok, this is not what I envisioned him driving. I hang up and put my phone in my bag. It looks like it came straight from the future.

It has an all-white body that's curvy, the front lights are LED, even the VW on the front glows softly in the bright daylight. Under the reg plate are small holes that curl up into what looks a lot like a smile with a blue stripe at the very bottom. The windscreen curves up the front and over the roof in one long piece of glass. The rims on the tires are like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

“What do you think? She's fully electric and first off the line,” Karl asks as he reaches for the bags at my feet. He presses a button on the remote in his hand and the boot pops open with a soft swish.

“It's adorable. So futuristic, but not what I expected you to drive,” I say as he saunters back to me, Damn this guy just oozes sex appeal. His black shirt strains over his arms as he picks up the bags, its short sleeved so I can see his forearms bunching. Jesus, what is it with forearms that makes me unable to look away? My body goes from just being hot to burning, and sweat trickles down my spine.

He pulls open the door, and I am finally able to look away from the arm porn currently happening. Ooh that was smooth as silk, not even a sound. I get up on my tip toes, trying to be nosy and see inside the car.

“Oh, she's not mine, Beautiful. She's yours,” he says with such surety I almost didn't hear what he actually said.

“Um, nope, I don't have a car. I definitely don't have a car that looks like it came out of Star Trek! You is coo coo-cachoo.” Ok, so, Karl is crazy. He throws his head back and lets out a genuine laugh. So fucking sexy. He puts the funky looking keypad in my hand, squeezing my fingers around it.

“She's yours, Ever. Get in. We've got a lot to do today.” With that, he strides around to the other side of the car and gets in.

I stare at the beautiful car dumbly. Mine? Too shocked to respond, I slide my arse into the white leather bucket seat. Holy fuck, this car is from the future! The air con is on and I breathe a sigh of relief as I look around.

“Um, where is the steering wheel, K?” The interior matches the outside, pure white and glowing LEDs.

“Press the logo in the middle, there,” he says, pointing to the dash in front of me. I press my slightly shaking hand to the VW sign and jump in my seat when a crazy shaped steering wheel glides out. I run my hands over the fifty pence piece shaped wheel.

“What...” All I can do is stare dumbly as LEDs light up from different places. A screen comes to life behind the wheel, showing me the usual things you'd see on your dash. Speedometer and such. “Holy high-tech, Batman, what is this thing?” I say to no one, but Karl answers me anyway.

“Yeah, it’s got a lot of tech, but it's simple to use and drives just like a normal car. By the end of the week, your driveway will be converted to a charging station for the car. It's all organized and paid for, Ever. A gift from me to you. Please say you'll accept it?” he begs. His voice is so unsure my heart squeezes in my chest. Well shit. This is the most extravagant gift I've ever been given. I'm not sure if I should accept it. I shift uncomfortably. All of a sudden, I’m hot again.

“Look, I did a bit of playing around with it this morning, if you click this button here...” he points to a non-button. A button requires it to protrude from a surface so you can actually push it in, this is flush to the dash, so it's a non-button. No pushy, no buttony. Ok, I may be the crazy one now. “...lights will come on. See?” He presses the non-button and a really cool light show plays across the roof. It fades from brown to blue, to soft pink to silver.

Ok, so now I’m in awe of this car. What a thoughtful thing for him to have done. Not just getting the car for me, but having the lights correspond with the guy's inner lights. Magical.

“The silver, is that me?” I ask almost nervously. I saw the silver light inside me when we linked, or whatever it was we did when we saved Garrot’s life and stopped him from being eaten alive from the inside by Selkie poison. I haven’t had time to really think about anything yet. What it means. What happened.

I let out a steadying sigh. All in good time, Ever. I look into his eyes as he answers me.

“Yes, when we joined hands to save Gar, I saw your light and theirs, mine too. It was the second most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”

Second? He reaches across the car and picks my hand up off my knee to rest it on his, then continues, “The way all four of our inner lights mixed with each other and swirled, I was in awe of it. Like how I feel whenever I look at you.” My free hand goes to the spot over my heart. More and more I’m seeing these flashes of a deeply sensitive man. Take the car back but leave this Karl here with me. I look down at my hand on his knee as he puts his own on top of mine. Not at all like I thought he was when we first met. I’d been so wrong about Karl.

“Will you please take the car, Ever?” A small sigh escapes my lips. “Ever...” he reaches out to gently tip my chin up. “This is not me trying to fucking buy your affection or love, isn't even close. I want your affection and love, yes, gods yes. I do, but I want to earn them. I want you to have this car because I've seen your driving license, I know you can drive. The last few months have been crazy hectic for you. You've been such a trooper, taking all this in and dealing with all the shit that's been thrown at you. Hell, you knocked me on my arse.” He lets out a hearty laugh. “Little badass, you deserve this car, and so much more. Besides,” he puts on a fake stern voice and brings his eyebrows down into a comical frown, “I will be very offended if you say no. I may have to order Garrot to bend you over his knee and spank you.” His eyes are alight with something that promises pain and pleasure.

My thighs clench. I'm reminded I have no knickers on. I'm braless. My nipples rub against the fabric of Karl’s t-shirt as I pant. Hoo boy. When it comes to these three sexy men, they have a direct link to my pleasure centres.

“Yes, I'll accept the gift, but I want to repay you for giving me Stella, ok?” I tell him. How am I meant to deny this Karl? He is bloody adorable.

  “Stella?” he asks, confused.

I let out a giggle and my eyes flick down to his crotch, the large bulge there letting me know I'm not the only one affected by the sexual tension.

“Yes, I've named her Stella. Problem?” I ask on a laugh.

“Nope, it suits her. And you want to repay me? Stay fucking safe!” he tells me, half joking, half completely serious, I know. We both giggle. I won't tell him I crashed my last car into a tree. It jumped out of nowhere! I swear, the fucking thing just appeared and killed my Berta. I start Stella up and she purrs like a kitten. It's so quiet that if I couldn't feel slight vibrations through the wheel, I wouldn't know she was running.

When we get back to Ever’s house, Le and Gar are sitting on the steps in front of the door.

“Wow, who invented time travel and brought back this thing?” Gar calls out as we get out of the car. Le whistles and makes a grab for Everly. She manages to avoid his hands and dashes into the house. We all frown at her back.

“What did you do, K?” Leyland shoots at me accusingly.

Shit man, I didn't do anything. She showed no signs of being upset or angry on the way here. In fact, we talked nonstop all the way. She told me about all the plans she has for the house and what she planned to do to the large back garden. Fuck. We find Ever in the kitchen with a tiny kitten in her hands.

“Ooh mummy missed you, sweetie pie, did you miss mummy, huh? Did you, Ella?” she softly coos then she plants kisses on the cat’s head. I’m almost jealous... Yup, I’m jealous. She stands and snuggles the bundle of fur to her ample chest.

“What on earth? Why does miss Ella get snuggles before me?” Le complains.

Everly giggles and moves across the room to wrap an arm around him, but Gar intercepts the arm she reaches out and pulls her in for a lingering kiss. Leyland growls low in his chest and slides up behind her, kissing her neck. The three of them make moaning noises and rub up against each other. Well shit, it's a little more difficult seeing them get to touch her and kiss her than I thought it would be.

Last night I couldn't sleep, so I decided to do a bit of online shopping. I ordered the car and paid extra to have it delivered early this morning. then I ordered some clothes for Ever to keep at my house. She's still wearing a pair of my joggers and one of my white training t-shirts. They drown her, and not even a hint of her sexy curves can be seen.

“Right. I’m going to have a shower, then put on some clothes that don't make me look like I’ve put on twenty stone,” Everly complains as she pulls away from them. Le steals her back from Garrot’s arms and whispers in her ear. Then he gently takes the cat from Ever’s hands before planting a kiss on her head. I can't hear what he said but she giggles, the sound doing things to me I can't explain. Then she heads up for her shower. I stand and look up to the ceiling, images of her wet and ....

“The car is nice, K. Electric, I assume?” Leyland breaks my train of thought. Damn. My eyes flick to his dick, his arousal obvious, then my eyes flick to Garrot’s. Yup, hard too.

“Yea, she called it Stella,” I say absently. We all burst out laughing. Having shared women before we've seen each other naked a lot. I know their dicks like I know my own. So looking at their hard-ons is nothing new. Garrot walks back outside to bring in the shopping. The kitchen is half-finished with the white cabinets and shiny silver handles. All the appliances are white, the accessories are silver, and it looks good. The walls are bare plaster; she's waiting for them to dry before she decorates. The floor is oak wood and the light streaming in through the patio doors reflects off it, momentarily blinding me. She's put a lot of work into this place. It’s turning into a nice home.

“She's asked us to move in, and we said yes. That’s where we've been all morning, collecting our stuff from Alan's,” Leyland says out of the blue. He’s holding the clean cat tray in his hands with the kitten rubbing against his ankles.

“That's great news, brother. I’m happy for all three of you. Can’t say that I’m not jealous but...” Fuck me. If I hadn't been such a dickhead all three of us would be moving in with her right now.

“We haven’t worked the details out yet but I’m sure we will later. Today is going to be a shit show. I just know it,” Gar says as he pours hot water into four cups. The smell of coffee permeates the air. The guys have settled into being domestic fast.

“Perfect timing, sweet face, Garrot’s just made coffee,” Leyland says, looking behind me. I turn to see Everly in the doorway.

Oh, fuck me. She's wearing a knee-length white summer dress, nothing on her legs or feet, no makeup. She looks stunning. She's pulled her hair back into a bun on top of her head. My feet take a step forward all on their own and she looks up at me with her eyebrow raised.

“Hmm, I love coffee. When will Alan get here? I wanted to sit in the garden for a bit, but if he's due soon...?” She trails off as she looks to Gar and Le before picking up the kitten at her feet. Snuggling her face into its fur she says, “Karl, would you help me get the chairs out? They’re in the shed.”

“Sure,” I reply, happy to help anyway I can. She gives Garrot the cat, who then starts to coo and baby talk at it. I roll my eyes at him as I follow her out into the garden and walk straight into heaven.

It's huge back here, an open field stretches to the skyline. Wildflowers are starting to pop up through the overgrown grass. I’m surprised to find myself standing under a porch. Wooden planks under my feet and a roof above me. There’s a small patio to the left with a table and six chairs. I swing my head to Ever, confused.

“Did the guys tell you I asked them to move in?” she asks as my eyes dip to the floor.

“Yup. I’m happy for the three of you.” I don't know what else to say, so I walk to the fence at the edge of the porch. Flicking some of the peeling paint off with my fingernail I add, “I’m a little jealous, well more than a little, but I know how to be patient, babe.” I look out at the field. “You’re worth the wait. I mean, if you'd even want me.” I say the last part low and I don't think she hears me until she steps up behind me and wraps her arms around my waist. I tense at first, not expecting her to do it. Then she rests her cheek against my back, and I let the tension go.

“I’m glad you’re not going to be a dick, Karl. I don't like dicks.” She pauses for a second before we both burst into laughter. Turning in her arms so I can watch as she laughs, I rest my forearms on her shoulders, my hands linked behind her head.

“You definitely love dicks, plural too. But I understand what you're saying. I promise to not be a bitch about this.” She giggles harder, her tits rubbing against my chest. My cock gets hard and we both look down at it.

“Dicks, plural. Hmm, well...” She licks her lips.

“We may be destined to be together, Ever, but I want you despite all of that. I want you to want me too. Organically, not forced,” I say as I lean forward and brush a light kiss across her lips. She kisses me back before pulling out of my arms.

“Alan will be here soon; we should get something to eat before he turns up.” With that she opens the door and walks back inside, leaving me with a hard on and an aching heart. One look from her and my dick stands to attention. A giggle, the way she rolls her eyes when one of us is being cheeky or arguing with each other over stupid shit. The way she kicks arse and takes names, the way the sun catches her hair, making it look like it's on fire. Her love and compassion. All the little things that make Ever who she is turn me on.

I've got it so bad for her, my balls are constantly blue. Out of character for me, I haven’t been with another woman since I met Ever. I haven’t even taken matters into my own hands. So, it's safe to say a brush of her hand on my cock would make me come in my boxers. She might not want me, but I am hers, down to my soul. She's too good for me, and I know it.

  Chapter Eighteen

  LEYLAND

While Ever and Karl go outside for a chat, me and Gar make a simple salad dinner with the supplies Ever brought back from shopping. There isn’t a table in the dining room yet, so we set it out on the coffee table in the front room. We finished this room already. I have to say Ever has great taste. The feature wall is dark blue while the others are light grey. The coffee table, side table, and console table are mirrored furniture. All reflect the natural light from the large window on the outside wall. The carpet is the same colour as the three walls. She chose a huge, crushed velvet, chesterfield sofa that runs the length of the back wall, big enough to fit ten people on it. It took me two days to convince her that if she loved it as much as she looked like she did, she should just buy it.

  I would’ve bought it for her , but I had a feeling
she needed to get used to having money and me buying it for her wouldn’t have helped. She gave in eventually. When it arrived she was so glad she bought it. I have plans to spoil her rotten and they don’t all involve a settee. Everly decided on blush pink accessories, cushions and rug, bringing the whole room together. It's a beautiful room. I love spending time in here with her. The telly is huge, sixty-five inches, set back into the blue wall.

Garrot brought it with him, complaining that watching films together on the small forty inch one Everly owned sucked. I fully intend to buy a six-person hot tub, but I haven’t told her yet. My gaze lands on the settee and the memory of Everly on her knees in front of me while I sat in the middle seat has my cock harder than steel.

“Thinking about Everly, brother?” Garrot says as he brings in the drinks.

“Huh? Yeah...” I start to say as Karl and Everly walk in. Her eyes drop to my crotch. I’m not even embarrassed. I smile at her, totally at ease. It does become embarrassing, however, when Alan knocks on the door. I sit down and put a pale pink cushion over my lap. We all greet him, me from my seat, but everyone else hugs him. He spots my coverup and smirks at me.

“Been there lad, trust me,” he says with a grin. Oh, I did not need to know that.

“Let's eat, shall we? You're early, Dad, but there’s plenty, so everyone dig in.” Garrot claps his dad on the back. Everly sits cross-legged on the floor and the four of us sit on the sofa. She picks at her food but doesn't say anything.
