Someone dimmed the lights as the opening credits rolled, and I snuggled down between the men I loved and the family we shared. Armageddon may have been waiting for us the next day, but for that night—what could prove to be our final night—we sat and watched the story of a wicked queen, a young princess, and her seven friends brave enough to help her. I might not have been Snow White, and I had more than seven dwarves at my back, but together, come what may, we were going to go toe-to-toe with that evil queen and her psychotic husband.
I hoped our tale would end as happily as the movie’s.
