Clover denied the butterflies in his stomach when Boar looked at him with so much affection. The mean voice at the back of Clover’s head told him what this was about.
They’re empty promises.
He just wants to fuck you.
He doesn’t mean what he’s saying.
He wants to manipulate you.
Clover swallowed and wrapped his arms around Boar’s neck, slowly rocking in his lap. This was easy. This he understood. He leaned in for a kiss. He’d never kissed a bearded guy before he met Boar.
He swallowed Boar’s moan, and the expert way with which warm hands danced up and down Clover’s sides proved that he understood where Clover was going with this. This was probably his reason for taking Clover here in the first place, but the touch still felt nice. In the shadow of the tree, the sun wasn’t as adverse to Clover, but Boar’s body heat was enough to make the T-shirt he wore obsolete.
They didn’t talk much, their mouths and tongues busier by the minute, and when they were both naked, Clover met Boar’s gaze, slicking his dick with the lube they’d gotten at the store. The cock fit so well in Clover’s fist, so hard Clover itched for it to fill him already.
Boar often turned him in sex so that they could look at one another, but the intensity in his green gaze intimidated Clover to the point where he wasn’t sure what to do with all the eye contact. So when he climbed back into Boar’s lap, it was with his back to the hairy chest.
Boar sat comfortably as Clover rode him, but he could never suppress his desire long enough, and mid-way, he pushed Clover forward, so that he could take charge and fuck Clover at the fast pace he loved so much.
Tank was big too, but where Tank had everything under control, Boar was more frantic with his affections, more about hugging and less aware of their surroundings. But unlike Tank, he didn’t torment Clover with orgasm denial, and eagerly offered his hand for Clover to fuck.
The scents of nature filled Clover with peace even as their bodies moved faster, harder, until Boar came inside Clover’s body, closing him in his warm embrace. His breath danced over Clover’s shoulder, but Boar wouldn’t let go even when Clover shifted to signal that maybe it was time to part. It seemed that the condom was the only reason for him to eventually pull away, but he still dragged Clover under him and initiated a kiss as soon as he disposed of the rubber.
“Where did you grow up?” Boar whispered, playing with Clover’s hair as he moved his lips along his throat, which still pulsed after Clover’s orgasm.
The question came like a hammer to the head. What the fuck was this mood spoiler? Should he lie or just tell Boar it was none of his business? He took an alternative route and continued kissing the big guy on top of him, keeping his fingers in the soft beard. Lying would have been easier if he didn’t like Boar so much, but the guy was so fucking nice to him, so cute in a burly way.
“Arizona. Doesn’t matter. We don’t need to share life stories.”
Boar blinked, his wide eyes sincere in their curiosity. Maybe he was honest. For now. “What do you mean?”
Clover offered him a fake smile and stroked Boar’s hair. “I mean there’s no need to get crazy personal. It’s just fucking.” And it wasn’t like Clover would stick around.
Boar’s gaze drifted off, and he sat back, leaving Clover bare to the cool breeze on his hot skin. “Well… I don’t know. I like you.”
What did that even mean? They hadn’t known each other that long. So maybe it had been extremely intense with living together, being at death’s door and all that, but this wasn’t love or anything.
“Yeah, but it’s temporary. Don’t get me wrong, I like you too. You’re great.” But what else was Clover supposed to say? Admit that his heart fluttered when Boar showed off his strength by picking him up, or that he felt cherished when Boar bought him shit like it was nothing? Just the other day, Boar had brought him breakfast to bed after Tank left for morning exercise. As if Clover was some prince to be pampered by his dedicated staff not the servant in the relationship.
But it was only a passing arrangement, no matter how pleasant.
Boar frowned and rolled his eyes. “Oh. I’m ‘great’. What a relief.”
Clover grabbed his pants and pulled them on, now regretting that he let his milkshake melt. “I literally just let you fuck my ass. No need to be rude.”
Boar took a deep breath and turned away, quickly pulling on his boxer shorts. “I’m rude? How about you don’t lead us on?”
Clover couldn’t dress any quicker. It was still sunny, with birds chirping and the stream nearby smelling like heaven, yet the rain in his heart was beginning to dampen his mood. “Lead you on to what? Are you proposing or something? We agreed that I’d let you all get a piece of my pie if you take me to New York. Don’t really see how I’m in the wrong here.”
Boar zipped up his pants, breathing loudly through his nose. “That’s how you see it? Just an exchange? So there’s nothing between us? Were you pretending?” he asked out of nowhere.
Clover crossed his arms, his face heating up in that annoying way that would create a blush on his pale features. “Can’t really fake an orgasm as a guy.”
“Not the sex, obviously. Everything else. You keep making eyes at me. You asked to help me out with the breakfast just earlier today. You want to be around us. Am I imagining this chemistry?” Boar asked, turning around and spreading his arms wide.
Clover backed away, unwilling to look into the needy green eyes. Of course Boar wasn’t imagining things. From the sound of it, he was much more empathetic than Clover. “You’re terribly emotional for a professional killer.”
Boar clenched his fists, and Clover gasped, for a second expecting a punch, but Boar kicked the milkshake cup instead and screamed out. “I’m so done with your bullshit! If that’s how you want it, fine! You can be a hole I fuck. Just don’t come over telling me about your favorite meals and shit.”
He started walking back to the car, but then growled, muttering something under his breath and came back to pick up the cup he’d kicked.
Clover didn’t say a word. The ten-minute drive home would be a long one.
Chapter 10 – Pyro
“How’s the meat looking?” Tank asked from his spot in the grass where he was doing push-ups without any effort at all. Pyro was strong and agile but couldn’t compare to the mountain of muscle that Tank was. But then again, maybe he could achieve the same level of fitness if he also obsessively exercised for two hours each day and ate six-egg omelettes.
Pyro pressed on the meat with a fork, smiling when it sizzled on the grill. “Gonna be ten minutes or so.”
He wondered whether Boar and Clover would arrive on time. They’d left ages ago, but knowing Boar, he wanted to treat Clover. The guy was a lovesick puppy by now, but it was hard to say if he actually had feelings for Clover, or if he was in love with the idea of keeping a horny twink around for both of them to fuck.
Picking someone to suit them both wasn’t always a walk in the park, even with Grindr, since they lived on the road. And were criminals. And even for one-night-stands, guys often got cold feet when they met, and the whole setting up of these fuck-dates could be so tedious they didn’t bother often.
Clover, on the other hand, was alluring like a white fox, pliant, and up for so much dick. Only problem was that instead of treating him like a fun exotic pet, Boar was getting into pleaser-mode, pampering the boy, making eyes at him. Hell, he’d even talked to Pyro about a vacation at the Ozarks that the three of them could go on once ‘this was all over’. Insanity.
Drake, who for once chilled out with a glass of wine, was stretched out on a blanket and reading a book. At this pace, he might even get a tan for the first time in his life. At least on the arms, because he wouldn’t take his T-shirt off. They all had scars, so what was the big deal? When the low hum of an approaching engine became obvious, Drake rolled to his back and covered his face with his comic book, as if that could somehow prevent him from hav
ing to interact with Clover.
His attitude was the polar opposite of Boar’s, as he didn’t want to have anything to do with the pretty boy and liked to pretend he wasn’t there. Though maybe that was because he didn’t like how much of a boner he had for their little pet.
Pyro waved at the approaching vehicle but turned to the grill, carefully moving the meat so it wouldn’t stick. The harsh bang of the car door made him look up just in time to see Boar storm past him and into the house.
Clover was left to unpack the shopping on his own, but he didn’t seem displeased or in a rush. His lean, elongated body never failed to give Pyro a thrill. He loved all things unique, hence his own blue hair and the serial killer tattoos, but Clover’s ‘different’ wasn’t because of something he chose. He was born special. From the white-blond hair, to the milky limbs and pink fingers, Pyro sometimes fantasized about biting into him, only to taste white chocolate with a drop of raspberry flavoring.
He’d known Clover for long enough now to understand innocence was just a disguise, not an actual aspect of Clover’s personality, but it still turned Pyro on so much to see the red flush on Clover’s face when they fucked, or the hazy eyes when Clover opened his lips in invitation for cum. Pretty, compact, and horny.
Had he been the one to bite Boar in the ass?
“Drake, man the grill, would you?”
Drake sat up, and the book slid down his chest, revealing a scornful frown. “How do I ‘man’ a grill? Have you ever seen me making anything but sandwiches?”
“Just... stand here and move the meat if you feel it’s burning.”
Drake stared at Pyro in a silent contest of wills for which Pyro had no patience. He was fine with Drake’s antisocial attitude most days, but not when quality meat was at stake.
“Do you want to eat this or not?”
Drake got up with a low sigh, but Pyro ignored his attitude and handed him the fork.
“Jamie?” Pyro called out as soon as he was inside their cabin. The lounge was empty, so he walked upstairs, calling out Boar’s name again. He wouldn’t answer. What kind of drama was this?
He entered their room without knocking, to find Boar standing in the middle. Their eyes met for a split second, and Boar instantly moved toward the ensuite. But Pyro wouldn’t let him off the hook so easily and grabbed his wrist.
“I’m not in the mood!” Boar announced, as if that much hadn’t been obvious. Did Clover not want to fuck him or something? Because lately it was all about Clover, Clover, Clover.
Pyro backed him to the wall, resting his forearm against Boar’s throat and looking into the flushed face of his lover. “I won’t stop pestering you until you tell me. What did the little flea do?”
Boar released a deep breath. He wouldn’t meet Pyro’s eyes, but he did stop moving. “He told me I’m just a dick to him.”
Pyro felt his shoulders sag, and he let Boar go. “Well shit. Told you you were getting attached too fast. He’s been with us what... ten days?”
Boar rubbed his face. “But I can feel he’d be a good fit! He’s like this little puppy, desperate for affection, and it’s so obvious, but he won’t admit it. He’s perfect for the both of us. Why wait?”
Pyro was afraid that, in this equation, Boar was the puppy. A Rottweiler, but a puppy nevertheless.
He licked his lips, watching Boar’s features twitch, redden, and display all the emotions that should stay hidden. “Maybe. But if he told you he only wants what’s in your pants then clearly he’s not a good fit, is he? Did you take him on a date or something that this makes you so upset?”
Boar’s gaze darted to the side. “Maybe.”
That was a ‘yes’ then.
Pyro pushed his fingers into Boar’s beard, rubbing it gently. “You need to chill. I get it, he’s cute. Scratch that. He’s a fucking sexpot. But you were supposed to give it time, and you’re charging in already with flowers and chocolates.”
“I just really like him!”
Of course he did. Who wouldn’t like a pretty twink? And this one was in need of help too, which pulled on Boar’s heartstrings and turned him into a softie. Pyro didn’t normally mind it one bit, but this time Boar’s infatuation was a source of misery.
“You should have let me handle this. I wouldn't have taken his petty bullshit.”
“He told me I was too emotional! You know how much I hate that! And now we’re stuck with him here, and I like him so much, and now I hate him so much too!” Boar raised his arms in helplessness. It was one of those times when Boar’s age—only twenty five—really showed.
To be fair, Boar was a bit too emotional. Or rather, too quick to bare his emotions. That was one of the things that made him such a great friend and partner, but also led to situations like this one. “You can still fuck that attitude out of him. Give him a taste of his own medicine.”
Boar ran his fingers through his hair. “I don’t even want to. I feel like an idiot. He’s nineteen, half my size, and made me feel so small! How can he be so mean?”
Okay, that was more serious. “Was he? I thought he just rejected the possibility of anything more. What did he say?” Pyro asked, feeling his body hair bristle.
“He mocked me and my attachment to him. Right after we had sex. What the fuck?”
Pyro gritted his teeth and, for lack of a better idea, patted Boar’s back. He wasn’t very good with other people’s feelings and that would likely never change. But that didn’t mean he didn’t care or that he would just do nothing.
“What a dick. We can’t just ignore it.”
“What am I supposed to do? Punch him? He’s so tiny I’d break him in half. It’s driving me nuts.”
“If he can’t see what he’s missing, then he’s not worth your time. Come on,” Pyro said, pushing Boar toward the door. He was a man on a mission.
Boar groaned, but let himself be herded downstairs where Pyro sat him at the table and told him to wait. From there, he handled the grill and asked Drake to go inside. Tank, who at this point sat on stool with Clover in his lap, would be a tougher nut to crack. But Pyro took on much harder tasks in his life. If he could survive in the streets, kill terrorists, and extract kidnapped children from foreign soil, then he could make Tank see Clover’s true nature.
“Yo. Tank, we need a meeting. Now.”
Tank’s expression went from relaxed to attentive in a split second. “What is it? Are we under threat?”
Clover knew what was going on already, because he refused to look at Pyro and put his feet, clad in brand new trainers Boar must have gotten him, on the foldable table next to Tank.
“You’ll know when I tell you. Clover, stay where we can see you from inside.”
Clover frowned. “But I want to know too.”
Tank ran his hand up Clover’s pale arm and stared at Pyro. “I told you he needs someone around at all times.”
Pyro challenged him with a glare. “Then lock him up in the car. We will be watching him from just a couple meters away. It’s not like someone’s gonna just come out of nowhere and snatch him when we’re right here. He’ll be safe enough.”
Tank huffed, but ended up nodding. “This better be good. Clover, sit in Drake’s van. I’ll be watching you.”
Clover groaned, but got up. “Seriously?”
Tank urged him with a slap on the ass. “Yes, seriously, boy. Go and do as I ask.”
Pyro scowled at Clover when Tank moved toward the house, but he didn’t waste any more time and jogged to the porch, opening the door for Tank, who glared at him, instantly prickly like a porcupine.
“What is this about?”
Drake already sat at the large table across from Boar. Neither of them spoke, and Pyro wondered if that was how they’d spent the past couple of minutes. “We need to talk about Clover.”
Tank sat down, but kept looking out the window. “What about him? What happened?”
Pyro stood behind Boar and squeezed his shoulders. “He’s being a shit. He might not dis
respect you but he had no problems being unpleasant to Boar today. After he got all the stuff he wanted from the store.”
Drake shook his head. “I smell a gold-digger.”
Tank frowned, tapping his fingers on the table. “Did you understand what his actual deal was? What was he being a shit about? I thought he’d mellowed out a bit. I’ll handle him if needed.”
Boar leaned forward as if he wanted to seem more confident, but in the end he let his shoulders drop. “He was… weird. Total asshole to me, but he also made this whole thing we’ve got going into a transaction. Like he was our hole to fuck and that was that. Maybe I got a bit too cozy with him, but he had a meltdown of rudeness.”
Drake snorted, but it must have been intentional, because he spoke as soon as he had everyone’s attention. “That was the deal you made with him, wasn’t it? He’s just keeping it real.”
Boar leaned his head back against Pyro’s stomach. “Doesn’t feel like it, though. He keeps flirting with everyone. And he was so nice, like he wanted to let me know there was more on the table only to crush it.”
Tank stared at the van outside for the longest time, his face set into an unreadable expression. “Either way, he knows the rules. He disrespected you. He’ll be punished, and he’ll learn his lesson.”
Boar shook his head. “I don’t know…”
Tank got up. “Well, I do. He needs to know his place. But between us, don’t let him walk over you, Boar. What the hell?”
“How many strikes is he gonna get until you guys decide he needs to go?” Drake asked. “We’re doing him a favor, and he can’t even keep his end of the bargain?”
Boar exhaled. “Maybe he just wanted to tell me he’d rather stay friends. He was unnecessarily rude about it, but I mean, he’s only nineteen--”
“Oh. My. God. Jamie, stop coming up with excuses,” Pyro said, squeezing his tense shoulders for him. “If he can’t fit in, we’ll have to let him go, no matter how good of a fuck he is.”
Pyro half-expected Drake to support him, but the pale face remained expressionless. Tank must have noticed too, because he leaned back in the chair and gestured toward Drake. “Are you feverish, or something? You normally wouldn’t miss the opportunity to talk shit about him.”
