HOPE BRINGERS (Strong superhero women) (Mystical Slayers Book 2) Page 12

by Michael W. Huard

She had done it; she had acted out against the bigwig Corporation. It felt sooooooo good!

  Chapter Nineteen

On returning the next day, the sleepy sisters were taken to representative locations that were apparently of great interest.

The state reps and some of their coordinates walked through these various places with the sisters. And what the women saw was a very capable amount of robotic soldiers in the making, as well as some highly advanced drone ships, which Ella Von Stybeck explained more about as they took a break in a café area across the hall from the warehouse.

"Those were made for our protection, just in case the city or the state was ever attacked. The drones can shoot down anything in the general area with plasma-like ray guns."

Everyone grabbed a drink, a small roll of bread, olive oil, and a pot of herb dip as a treat while resting in the café. "Tell us about those soldiers," Raegan requested.

Brock explained, "Technology is not only for Y-Wood. If you have the funds and the knowhow, one can create, just as they have. We supply robots to them as well, we just make sure ours are better and that we keep our own on hand for if we find ourselves in dire need."

The women all liked that and went on to talk about the opportunities this could create as they finished up with their brunch.

Lastly, the state reps led them to a large secret healthcare facility. The whole street was set up like a private hidden mecca.

The country's healthcare was under Y-Wood control, and people were terrified about not having a choice in such a matter. It was another way to control the general populace in new America.

This medical building was impressive to say the least.

Raegan, Zaey, Chaya, and Mahira were very pleased at what they had witnessed here today. Raegan couldn't hold back. "This is amazing! It makes me happy to see all the work you have done here. I have to ask though, if this all leaks out, don't you both fear that Purcell will come down on you with his iron fist and…you know…put an end to everything?"

Brock Jones ran a hand through his silver locks. "Yes, we are always very concerned, but we try to cover everything up by emphasizing that this is for them, not us. So far, it's worked, but we know we are on borrowed time, hence this meeting with you all."

Zaey thought, all of this could help them defeat the Corporation, but would it be enough?

She put in a word about it all. "So we have to move fast with a plan. I've got a few ideas of my own. If we can cyber-attack them prior to any actual combat, we could shut down lots of their technology. Without it, the Corp is nothing more than an army of strong bot soldiers, which is no better than what we would be if we have technology and numbers on our side against them." She appeared pleased at such a consideration.

Raegan replied, "That won't be so easy. We're going to need help. We can certainly deliver some attacks and do some damage to them in places, but I think one of the main things is this whole golden ticket, vice president thing. If we can get somebody in on our end, that could be a huge help in hacking into their system, or at least letting us know their next moves."

Mahira added, "Well, so much for that idea…we almost had one last night. Why is this shit always so complicated?"

The lawyers of California all looked to the gladiator, curious as to what she meant regarding last night.

Raegan and Zaey both nodded to suggest they leave that one alone; Chaya just scratched her head.

Raegan said, "Let's not go there. It was a crazy time last night, we didn't get a ticket…well, almost, perhaps, but that's as close as we got."

Ella Von Stybeck, who was dressed in an olive colored suit, added, "Well, that's interesting to say the least. Maybe we will come across one of you ladies again soon."

As she walked around the room to get a glass of water, she said, "On this proposal meeting by the Y-Corporation and President Purcell, are you guys still debating on what you want to do about that?"

Mahira assured her, "Oh yeah, we're still talking on it. The bottom line is, we need a lot of people to fight off the Y-Corporation, and at this point, we don't have them. We are all still feeling like it's not a good idea to meet the enemy in person just quite yet."

Everyone seemed to agree on that matter.

The rest of the afternoon went by fast. The advent of the current wildfires burning steadily was brought up and was now on everyone's mind. A few more days was all they had to talk and decide on making a big move together.

  Chapter Twenty

No one knew how the California wild fires started, but they were now raging across the state. The level of air pollution was unprecedented and very unhealthy.

The only fact everyone knew, was that the fire began in Santa Barbara, but the main issue was there was no easy way to fight the spreading fires. Mother Nature might help out, Y-Wood could send flyers over the land with tons of water, or these fires would carry on and eventually reach Monterey and the sisterhood's homestead.

Power outages plagued the vicinity as almost fifty wildfires spread over millions of acres, all of which had gone up in flames.

Today, Trevor visited a few of these areas with his mentor, Galax.

Hundreds of people cried out for help; having lost what little they owned, things were fast becoming even worse for the entire region. The boy again struggled with his desire to show a little compassion to these people. He wanted to help them.

However, they were only scouting the area via a sky ship, and he was not allowed to offer any assistance whatsoever.

He looked to Galax. "What will these people do?"

The super robot gazed out through the front window of the large spaceship and replied, "Beg for help."

Trevor felt a tear fall from his eye.

The ladies were now on the road home, and each took turns getting some much-needed rest.

As Raegan drove at a late hour, she saw a man in a silver eagle crested helmet walking toward her on the roadway. He had beside him a tall silver and blue robot with gleaming blue eyes.

She stopped the vehicle right away and looked to see her other three sisters fast asleep. She shoved them and told them all to get up. But, before they were fully awake, the man strode to the driver's side of the vehicle and opened her door.

She then saw a third person standing behind the man and his robot.

The man in the silver helmet spoke first. "So we finally get to meet the brave women. You had to make it difficult now, didn't you?"

Raegan, on the other hand, did not want to meet this man. She wanted to get the SUV moving, but before she had chance to do so, the robot announced, "Don't leave now. I have someone you may want to meet."

Raegan had a weird feeling about this. Who was it, and why was she feeling such unease about the third person behind the super robot?

The president said, "This is our bargaining chip to make sure you will work with us."

Raegan would not do that. She tried to get away and stepped hard on the gas pedal, then suddenly, she woke up. Zaey was driving. She must have drifted off to sleep. She wiped the sweat from her brow and took a deep breath, not daring to close her eyes again.

  Chapter Twenty-One

A few days prior to the sisterhood's visit to L.A., the latest meeting for the president and his core leadership group took place.

In New York, all sat and heard the company's most recent plans.

The stout president spoke to the team about particular Corporation agenda items.

"I wanted to mention, I am very satisfied with the creation of the female cyborg warrior. The games are open again, and she makes a great rep for the company. The crowds are interested and hyped up, and she has an ability that not only makes us all proud but she also looks good doing it. Bravo to you all and your creation teams." He looked to his assistant, the nerdy Aaron Steele. "Aliah is a great success!"

He then stood from his high-back chair. "I just want to make sure that we ha
ve our best staff members on hand wherever she goes out to fight, just in case she suffers any injuries and to keep an eye on the tuning of her functions and mechanics."

Aaron Steele replied, "We're on it, sir!"

The president's assistant was small in stature but knew his shit.

Steele continued. "Everything is well in order, Mr. President. She is definitely the best of the best. After all, she has been instilled with all new memories, including multiple levels of fighting skill, technique, and theory, as well as intelligence. Her past is forgotten, though her brain, her face, and her voice remain human." The scrawny man in glasses grinned at his own success. "She is a cyborg, but she is more human than most."

General Purcell liked the way the meeting was going. Next, he wanted to stress the fact that he wanted more of the nuclear warning horns installed where Y-Wood people were located. He wanted them in New York, California, Washington, and of course in Texas, yet more were needed.

"Get these blasters up in other places, people," he instructed.

He was also ready to move forward with the branding of all attractive women, even those in farther-out locales.

His human secretary, Tessa, took notes on her tablet as he carried on. She was once the helper of Arn Marcou, but this new leader was a totally different cat.

President Purcell rubbed his hands together and went on.

"I've mentioned this before regarding former President Marcou; he was stupid in falling for beautiful women. He instilled microchips in many of our soldiers and workers that instructed them not to shoot or harm such females. I have no idea what he was thinking; it nearly cost us everything."

The president shook his head in dismay. "I'm going to tell you, right here and now, that's not me. I like a good woman like any other red-blooded male, but I'm not infatuated with looks. To me, all women are inferior soldiers and need help, not envy." He looked to Tessa as she glanced up at him before casting her eyes back down.

The robots in the room heard their leader loud and clear. Aaron, however, was still a little baffled. He adored lovely women.

"We're going to finally make sure that no such woman, including those freedom-fighting types, mess with us. I've already installed a new law on women in this country. Those that have good looks, like the beautiful ones of that sisterhood, are now being given a stamped barcode on their ass." He paused to stare about the room. "That's right, barcodes directly on their skin. I've talked to some of you about this before, and it's already saving us loads of shit."

Silence filled the room. The President smiled and yelled out, "YOU PUSSIES! HAVE SOME BALLS, WILL YOU? THIS IS WAR! How the fuck are we going to stop the rebels and win while you're being all softy?"

The humans at the table were still taken aback; this was a crazy idea and very demeaning. The robots, Galax and Omagus, however, were fairly ambivalent about the idea; it didn't really matter that much to them. As far as they were concerned, whatever worked for Purcell, was fine with them also. Anyway, Omagus could only see this man lasting so long. He had plans of his own.

Galax strode over to his boss. "The scanning devices have already been distributed nationwide." He then looked at Omagus, catching the last of his secret unspoken plans. Galax wondered what it meant but decided to keep his thoughts to himself.

The president stretched and extended his arms up high. "I guess that's it for today, people. Oh, wait, there's one more thing I need to mention. There's a cyber hacker that's been out and about lately, and I want that person taken care of."

He then turned to Omagus. "I'm putting you on this issue. It appears they have been messing with some of our broadcasts. The last thing I want is this crap to continue, so find out who the cyber hacker is, and you'll have my great favor." Omagus nodded.

On a large computer screen, a company news broadcast suddenly came on.

This is a B-Purcell news broadcast: At the Y-Corporation, we want to help your future thrive. Build your portfolio through our stocks, because technology never ends and we're always on the cutting edge of creation. Invest today and build the wealth you've always dreamed about. Y-Wood is here for you and your family.

  Chapter Twenty-Two

Living inside a bubble on the waters of one of Saturn's exotic moons was nothing that Resin Cador would've ever dreamt of doing. He had a little team of cyborg-like scientists and a few robots that could work alongside him in any climate or in any situation.

Years ago, he'd had a plan, and he had formed an army of fish-like sea creatures. He wanted to make his mark on Earth, so all his minions had been enhanced with robotics as well.

Then, it all came crashing down on the one-time assistant to Y-Wood's President Arn Marcou.

The wormholes that led to Saturn and its moon's inner water world, disappeared. So this moon, named Enceladus, was now his home. He was set to make the greatest move of his life, to return to America and show the Corporation he was the perfect choice to become the new president.

Yet a sudden shift in space travel changed everything.

He saw firsthand this new culture of Seidons evolving. Each individual constantly worked as part of one big team so they could survive in such a climate. The days and months, and now years with them had been interesting and had changed him to say the least.

His outlook on life was altering daily, and there was one thing in particular that made him see things differently: a dark-haired beauty with the body of a goddess. At that very moment, she rolled over and placed her head upon his naked chest. He gently brushed her hair from her cheek and ran his fingers along her lips, tracing a circle about them.

Because supplies to the moon had ceased, they'd had to make do with what they'd brought with them. The one thing that kept him sane through even the darkest of days, was the woman in his bed. Sinaye never expected to be where she was today; it was supposed to be a quick visit here that turned into a permanent home. They had lost all contact with the outside world, so this was now the couple's life.

Unable to contact her sisters to explain her sudden departure, Sinaye was stuck with no other options but to make the best of this new dwelling. She had Resin now, and of course their little girl.

This whole new life was interesting, mainly because she had always been more of a loner. She had never really had boyfriends or lovers, yet with the situation at hand, she and Resin were together constantly.

She looked up and smiled at him. "What are you thinking about?" she asked.

The clean-shaven, baldheaded muscular man wrapped his arms around her and leaned down to kiss her soft lips. "I was thinking about—" Before he could explain further, she slid her hand down between his legs and stroked his partially metallic manhood. He chuckled and said, "Yeah, that's what I was thinking about."

It didn't take long to get him aroused. These days, the two of them were intimate practically all the time. He had his dream girl, the voluptuous robotic scientist, and life was pretty darn good, even in such an odd situation.

The woman who'd had very little sex and passion for most of her life, now rolled over and let Resin between her legs. As their bodies melted together, Sinaye called out in ecstasy, letting her inhibitions go, and enjoyed what was to be another wonderful lovemaking session with her man.

Afterward, the two waded out nude into the ocean. Their new home was a large cave with sparkling walls carved out of the rocky shoreline, yet just a few steps out of it and they would swim in a greenish blue crystal-clear sea.

Both had gotten used to the surroundings and all the beauty it had to offer. The sky above was solid, yet its phosphorus top danced in colors of blue and green as well. The creatures that dwelled here were fascinating to them, and the way these sea folk went about living made them see life as a family existence. A family working together could supply happiness to all.

Resin lifted his lady up as they frolicked in the sea. "The time spent here has no doubt changed my way of thinking, Sin," he proclaimed. These people
are better off here, not where we come from. If ever we find a way home, I'll have to find another way when it comes to world dominance." He chuckled.

Sinaye pushed her long, now wet black hair back from her face. "It doesn't look like you'll be dominating much since we're stuck here," she replied. "But, like I've been telling you, if we ever do get home, the sisterhood would welcome you with open arms. I miss them so much."

Resin lifted her up higher and tossed the slim scientist into the water. She went under and came up excited. "Oh, you're going to get it," she said as she rushed him and jumped on his shoulders. They wrestled in the water and fell to their backs, laughing.

Resin got up and backed up slightly to avoid more grappling as he explained, "Here, we are lost in time with all this equipment and all this knowledge. Every moment we spend trying to address these people, trying to tailor them to what we thought we needed, is now gone. I just feel better helping them have a better existence more than anything else. I suppose I have set my ego aside."

Sinaye again waded over to him. "You see, when I first met you, I felt that side of you and I could sense the kindness in your heart." She stopped and kissed him. "What did you see in me?"

Resin hesitated to answer such a tricky question. "Welllllll…I saw someone that had been through a lot, a good person forced to grow up too fast. I saw a woman I could love."

Sinaye smiled. "Aww, that's so nice. And what else did you see?"

Resin couldn't help but look at her chest. "Um..." He then dropped his face to her bosoms and rubbed his nose between them.

Sinaye frowned and pushed his head away. "Some things never change!" She then dropped her face into his rugged muscular chest. "I like your chest too, mister," she said, giggling.

For Sinaye and Resin, their time wasn't all about living in a sea-dwellers grotto—far from it. Both had the brightest of minds, and they had discovered a few things here on Saturn that would be marvels on Earth.
