• Confirmed: Darnell Williams’ character name is Sarge. And as UNCENSORED reported weeks ago, Williams will be first paired opposite his former AMC co-star Peter Bergman.

Isn’t it weird that all the major soap superstars from the ‘80s and ‘90s, who couldn’t quit daytime TV fast enough, are now desperate to hold on to their day jobs? Maybe it’s karma. Stars like Michael E. Knight, Jack Wagner, Peter Reckell, Kristian Alfonso, Anthony Geary, Ian Buchanan, Steve Burton, Victoria Rowell, Patrick Muldoon, Maurice Benard, Vanessa Marcil, Lisa Rinna, Michelle Stafford, and Darnell Williams all left huge paycheques at the height of the genre to pursue bigger game in Hollywood and all are now fighting for scraps on a dead carcass. One smart and savvy superstar, Susan Lucci, never did! She was wise to make as much cashola as she could — and negotiate prime time and film gigs on her hiatuses. Now that’s #Winning. At any rate, it’s now the soaps with the power to hire — and that’s sadly ironic.
