Patience knew he was right, but she wasn’t going to give in so easily. “And what has made you fall so hard for me in a week?”
“Oh, that’s easy. What you have brought to me and my life in week has changed who and everything I am and will be for the rest of my life,” he told her with fire in his eyes.
“Is that all you got, Nick? That is supposed to make me say yes to that lopsided proposal? Not happening, bub!”
“Patience,” he said.
“Yes, Nick,” she answered, batting her lashes at him.
“No. I am asking you to have some. You made me believe in the magic and power of Christmas, but you also restored my faith in God and in humanity. I will not turn my back on the blessings He has bestowed me, and I see you as my Christmas miracle.” He smiled at her with a large grin.
She extended her arm into the air, grabbed her imaginary dial, and turned it all the way up.
Nick burst into laughter. “If that did it for you, wait until you see what I got you for Christmas....”
