“You are allowed to feel jealous when other girls are rubbing themselves all over him. It’s normal. You let him into your body and your heart. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
My frustration level has hit a whole new platform and I’m getting worried all over again. Jealousy means that I care and by caring, well that means that he’s going to get to know me. I’m not an interesting person. I’m a hacker prodigy that managed to make what I’m good at a career. I’m nothing special at all. He’s all motor oil and leather. How do I fit in with that?
I throw myself onto the bed again and wrap my arm around my head. “Jen, but… He’s a biker. How do I fit into the whole situation without making a fool out of myself?”
Jen takes a deep breath and then says: “You fit in because you are staying in his room. Come out to the bar with me tonight. We need to have a good time.”
I look down at my skanky outfit in an attempt to look cool with Joe’s friends. Well, I guess I look dressed to go.
“All right. Meet me in an hour at Mr. J’s.”
“Deal. Look hot.”
With my phone still in my hand, I tap out a message to Joe. I don’t want him thinking that I’m running away from him even though we haven’t exactly had the beginning of a good conversation.
ME: I’m going to the bar with Jen
JOE: i would rather you stay here
ME: why? What’s going on?
JOE: fuck. Stay in the room for a few minutes and I will be there in a min
ME: fine.
During the time that I wait for him, I go through all of my notes regarding Smokey and this Q. Who the fuck is Q and why is he talking to Smokey about this drop and how to beat him?

If you want a place on the board, we need to get him dead. Big Sir said that we can start cashing in on his payroll and we need to do this.

Holy shit! I figured it out.
I fling open the door from Joe’s room into the main part of the clubhouse and begin screaming his name. “Joe! Joe! Where are you?”
I guess I wasn’t watching where I was going and I ran into a wall with heat and muscles. Whomever I just ran into, places his hands on my hips and holds me closer to him. “Pinky, what are you doing running around screaming like a damn banshee? Prez is busy.”
I look up and see Q Ball staring down at me and his hands are gripping into the flesh of my hips. “Oh, sorry. I just wanted to talk to Joe about something. It’s important.”
“I bet it is,” he smirks and then winks at me. “What, you need some of The Bear’s dick? Is that what it is? Or have you finally stopped snooping into the lives everyone here?”
My mouth drops open and I look down because I can’t look at him directly or I will break. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“See, I knew there was something interesting about you from the beginning and I couldn’t figure it out. That was until I broke into The Bear’s room and went searching through all of your shit.”
Have you even felt the ground below you start to break? The foundation that you are standing on gives out and you begin to fall through the cracks? Yeah, I was in trouble.
“Why, uh, why would you do that?”
“Pinky, let’s go for a walk.”
The Bear
By the time that I skidded to a halt in front of the building where we are holding Smokey, I knew that something happened and it would be bad. Flip is standing outside of the door with a blunt in his mouth and he looks pissed off beyond belief.
“Hey, brother. What’s going on?” I ask him and stop in front.
Even though it’s dark outside, I can see that he has blood staining his shirt and his face is covered in it. “Prez, you have to get in there. Smokey is singing like a canary and shit is deep.”
The severity of what he just told me, kicks in. “What the fuck are you talkin’ about? I thought I made myself clear when I told you that you are to watch him. Not get him to fuckin’ talk!”
I’m pissed for several reasons. One of the major reasons is the fact that Flip didn’t follow my directions when I told him that I didn’t want anyone talking to Smokey. Two, I had big plans to extract the information from him.
And let’s just say, they would have been fun plans.
Flip throws his hands up in the air to show me that he didn’t mean any harm. It’s kind of comical how he did it because he has his blunt hanging out of his mouth. “Well. Uh, here’s the thing. I was followin’ directions but then he started talkin’ and I knew he wanted to spill everything.”
“Then why the fuck are you covered in blood?” I raise an eyebrow and then point to the fact that he is covered in blood. “Don’t tell me that it’s yours and you are now raggin’ it like some bitch.”
“Fuck you, Bear. No. He was spillin’ everything even shit about Dana and J.J.”
“Move,” I demand and then push past him. Hearing the mother of my child’s name is enough to get my blood boiling but it is also enough to make me want to kill him. This is a desperate attempt at trying to stay relevant and now I’m pissed.
I plow through the warehouse until I get to the holding cell where Smokey is being held. The smell of his blood and waste makes me almost gag and I can’t help it but it makes me even more angry. I don’t want to show him that I have emotions because this rat bastard will try to play on them. He will try to get in my head by bringing up shit that will make me want to kill him.
Smokey, my old Veep, is hunched over on a chair with vomit hanging from his mouth and he smells disgusting. “What the fuck, Smokey?” I bark out to him.
He lifts his weary head and tries to focus his eyes on me. “Joe, what the fuck?” He barks back at me but his words are slurred and I can tell that he’s struggling to speak. After he’s done with his words, he gurgles blood. “Are you in here to make cheap shots at me?”
I walk up to his body and clench my fist. I want to punch him in the face but I know that it wouldn’t do anything to help my case. “Why try to kill me?” I ask him close enough to his face and I try not to gag. He smells like fucking cow shit.
“You’re one of those entitled brats who fucking thinks that you should get everything you want. I fucking hated being your Veep.”
Well at least he’s honest. “Why not vote me out? Why not take it to the board and have them figure out how to get me out? Why would you risk your position in the club? Reputation? You’ve been a member for fifteen years. Your father was one of the founding members with my dad. Why would you risk your life to try and blow me up?” I demand.
His head rolls back and I can see the gaps in his gums where his teeth used to be. “You didn’t deserve to be president. You’re just a cock sucking bottom feeder.”
“Tell me why I shouldn’t kill you right now?” I ask him.
He chuckles but then gurgles blood again from it. The smell of the dried blood is starting to get to me and I have to breathe through my mouth. “You’re just going to kill me anyways. Why wait? Put a bullet in my head and get it over with. Are you expecting me to repent or something? I’m not going to do that. I don’t fucking owe you anything.”
My blood boils and I try to not punch him across the face. That is ex
actly what he wants. He wants me to kill him so that he doesn’t have to spill his guts. “Who helped you?” I implore.
“Like fucking hell I would tell you. You’re just going to kill me anyways.”
I walk away from him trying to calm down. “Smokey, just fucking tell me!” I yell at him.
“I’m not tellin’ you shit, man. You want to know, you’re going to have clean house. Your reach isn’t as far as you thought. You don’t have as much power as you wanted. Am I right? Or do you want me tell you about Dana and J.J.? You want me to tell you what happened?”
I kick my foot out and knock his chair backwards. It falls on the floor with a thud and the satisfying sound of his head bouncing off the concrete floor, makes me happy. “Start talking, mother fucker.”
I had met Dana when we were in high school. We had that kind of relationship where we would just fuck whenever we wanted and it was hot. We’d skip school to be together and fuck in the back of my dad’s station wagon. It was hot. That was until she started telling me what was happening at home. Her dad was in The Plague and started pimpin’ her out to pay for his drugs.
“She came to me when she found out she was pregnant and told me she didn’t want to have your bastard kid. Asked me what to do. I told her to abort. She didn’t want to.”
“Why wouldn’t you come to me and tell me this?” I yell at him. I’m standing over his body that is still bound to the chair but his back is on the ground. “We were friends, man.”
He rolls his head to look at me through his bruised and swollen face. “Because, she was pregnant with my kid. She was only fucking you because she knew you were going to be president. Like you could have kept her happy, man.”
My foot kicks out and I kick him in his stomach. He curls around his stomach as much as he can but he can’t. “Start talkin’. I want to know everything!”
“Uh, prez. You need to come inside.”
I turn on my heels and see Half Ball staring at me. His face is still swollen from his time with Big Sir but he’s healing as good as he can. “What’s goin’ on now?” I yell.
“It’s Q Ball and Chantal. She’s not in your room and he’s taken off. He left his cut on the bar with a note to you.”
I look down at Smokey who is smiling a devious smile. “My plans are working out.”
“What did you do?” I say to him.
“Did you think that you could bring a hacker in here and expect us to not know about it? You think you could get one over me? You’re as stupid as your fucking father.”
“Priorities, man. He will be here when you come back. We need to go,” Half Ball says to me.
Rabies comes running into the warehouse and stops on his heels. “What the fuck happened in here?” He demands as he looks at the mess of Smokey.
“Watch him!” I command and then walk out of the warehouse. It’s a quick trip to the clubhouse and I don’t even say a word to Half Ball who is trying hard to figure out what is going on. “Until I come back, I want every brother in here and I want everyone waiting for me. Do you get me?” I state.
“Yeah, man. I will get everyone here. Where is Q Ball and Chantal? Where do you think they went?”
“I know where they are.”
I just hope I get there soon enough to make sure that Q Ball doesn’t fucking kill Chantal.
Chantal
I’m sitting in the backseat of Q Ball’s car and I’m looking at everything that we pass. Any significant landmark or any road sign will work for when I get out of here. I need to make sure that I do it discreetly or Q Ball will totally catch on. He’s not as dumb as I thought he was.
“Why did you hack into my computer?” He asks as he signals to turn left down Lafayette St.
Okay, Lafayette St. leads to Main St. which will take me back to where I was at. I categorize every place that we pass in hopes that I can remember for when the time comes. There will be a time.
Q Ball must have gotten pissed off at my lack of answering because he growls at me. “It’s rude when you don’t fucking answer people, Chantal.”
“I’m sorry, what did you ask?”
“Fucking bitch. How did you hack my computer? Why?”
I don’t know what to say so I don’t say anything. Am I supposed to tell him that Joe hired me to do it? No, I don’t think it’s a good idea to let him know why. How do I know that he knows why I did what I did?
“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” I say defiantly and then try to back peddle the conversation. “Why would you go searching through my stuff?”
Q Ball turns in his seat and looks over at me with incredulous eyes. “You were snooping around a Veep’s room. You honestly fuckin’ think we don’t got cameras?”
I fiddle with my hands in my lap and then look out the door again trying to memorize where we are. “Where are you taking me?” I ask him.
“I’m taking you away from the clubhouse because we are going to have a little chat.”
“About what?” I ask him again.
“Shut the fuck up and sit back.”
We drive around for about fifteen more minutes and he must have known that I was trying to keep up where we were going because he started to drive in circles. I lived in this city for my whole life, there’s not many places where he could take me that I don’t know. I’m not going to be the one that tells him that though.
By the time he slows down, I know exactly where we are and it’s in the same neighborhood as my parents’ home I grew up in. He lives here? That’s something that I never would have thought because this a pretty affluent neighborhood full of rich people.
I watch with wide eyes as he stops in front of my parents’ house. “What are we doing here?” I demand from the backseat.
The house I grew up in is one of those two story Tudor style homes with a Widow’s Walk on the top of it. Being that I am an only child, I turned the Widow’s Walk into my play room and made it into a fort where I played. That is also where I had my first computer hidden so I could play with it and try to find out how to break through the internet.
The funny thing about the “web” is it is actually a web. Everything is connected by a string and leads to something else then goes back to the first one. It’s a giant spiderweb full of information that leads back to one thing. That is why I love the internet and am so good at hacking. I learned how to track and trace which string goes where and how it makes its web from that.
“You, little lady, have no room to be asking me questions. You think you can just barge your way into people’s lives and get away with it? Fuck that, Pinky. You are about to feel how invasive it feels.”
I put my hand on the door handle to get out of the car but he’s already opening the door for me to get out. “I need you to keep your mouth shut and follow my lead. Do you understand me?”
“Why are you doing this? Is it money? Do you want money?”
He shakes his head and puts his hand on my lower back to push me over the driveway until we get to the front door. “No, I don’t want fuckin’ money. I want you to learn what it’s like when people start digging through your life and then I want you to apologize to me.”
I don’t say anything while he shoves me through the wide front door of my parents’ home and I see both my parents tied to chairs. “Why are they here? They have no reason to be here!”
The grey haired head of my father pops up from leaning against his chest and his eyes flare open to look at me. He then makes a sound getting my mother’s attention who looks me over as well. I’m thinking that the reason why they are doing this is to make sure that I’m okay. Both of their mouths are taped shut and I run over to them to peel off the tape.
I’m stopped before I even get to them by Q Ball and he growls in my ear. “No, you sit in front of your parents and don’t say a word. I have your computer and I need you to do something for me. You got me?”
“What do you need me to do?” I question and sit on the floor like I was told to. My eyes scan
over my parents to make sure that they are both okay and it doesn’t look as if they have anything wrong with them. Besides being tied up to a chair with their mouths covered in tape, I don’t see any injuries.
The front door to the house flings open and then comes in a person I definitely didn’t expect to see here. Big Sir and Big Don. Standing larger than life in front of me and they both have a cocky look on their faces. They totally have me where they want me.
Q Ball is bouncing on the balls of his feet and he claps his hands as if this is exciting. “This is great. Big Sir, tell Chantal what we need.”
The big man’s body drops down to the floor in front of me and he places his hand on my arm gingerly. “Chantal, what a pleasant surprise. Imagine my surprise when Q Ball and Smokey told me you were hacking into their shit and trying to expose our deal. You fucked up and now you’re going to have to pay.”
