Someone to Love Page 19

Wendy grasped Trent’s free hand and put it to her breast. Oh God. Nothing had ever felt like this.

She started to undo Trent’s shirt buttons frantically, but Trent stopped her and she pulled back from the kiss.

Wendy pleaded, “I need you inside me.”

Trent took her hand and said, “Come to bed.”

She led Wendy over to the bed. Trent wanted nothing more than to feel Wendy beneath her while she thrust her fingers into her, but this was about trying to make Wendy feel safe and showing her that this meant something.

Trent took off her own shirt and T-shirt and threw them to the side. Wendy reached out and traced her fingers over Trent’s muscled shoulders and chest and brushed over her hard nipples.

“I love your body,” Wendy said.

Trent took a step closer and unzipped Wendy’s dress while keeping her eyes focused on Wendy’s.

The dress dropped and Wendy pushed Trent’s hands onto her lace covered breasts. “Feel me. I want you to touch me so badly,” Wendy said.

Trent couldn’t wait to see Wendy’s beautiful breasts. She undid the clip and threw the bra to the side. She ran her hands over Wendy’s breasts, taking in every inch. Wendy’s body was beautiful and soft, and Trent couldn’t believe she was being allowed to touch her.

Trent kissed her and ran her fingers down between her breasts and down past her taut stomach. “You’re so beautiful,” Trent said.

Wendy kissed her more frantically and Trent got caught up in the passion. She quickly took off her trousers and underwear and lifted Wendy so that her legs wrapped around her hips. Wendy gasped.

Trent laid her down on the bed and pulled off her lacy panties.

Trent lay over Wendy and began to kiss and gently bite her breasts.

“Oh God, I’m so wet. Please go inside.”

Trent leaned over and kissed Wendy while she allowed herself to thrust her sex into her lover’s. Wendy was right. She could feel how wet Wendy was, and she groaned into Wendy’s kiss.

Trent couldn’t remember the last time she’d been so hungry for sex, to touch someone else’s body.

“You do want it, don’t you?” Trent said.

Wendy wrapped her arms around Trent’s neck and her legs around her hips. She undulated her hips into Trent’s sex, encouraging her. “I want you to make me come.”

Trent was throbbing with desire just touching Wendy’s beautiful body, and she wanted to be inside her making her come.

“I promised you that I’d take care of you, Wendy Darling.”

Trent reached down and squeezed Wendy’s soaking wet sex. She felt her lover dig her nails into her back as she moaned. She loved that.

Trent’s fingers slipped easily into Wendy’s wetness. She split her fingers and rubbed the outside of Wendy’s clit a few times, making Wendy thrust her hips and groan, “Yes, like that.”

She had to be inside Wendy. Trent moved her fingers down and teased Wendy’s opening, doing everything gently and making Wendy feel taken care of and safe.

“Inside, Trent. I need it,” Wendy said breathily.

She slipped one finger in, then two, making Wendy gasp in pleasure. Wendy pulled Trent down to kiss her and said desperately, “Just fuck me. I need it so badly.”

Trent nearly came at that remark. Wendy was not all sweetness and light. She clearly loved sex and to be naughty. Trent stroked a braid away from her face. “You’re a naughty girl, Wendy Darling.”

  “Yes,” Wendy said.

Trent kissed Wendy while she started to thrust, while her thumb teased her clit.

“Yes, baby, deeper,” Wendy whispered through passion.

She thrust deeper and moaned at her lover opening up to her. She could feel the slight fluttering of Wendy’s sex. Trent looked down into Wendy’s eyes. “I can feel you’re going to come soon.”

“Uh-huh,” was all Wendy could say while she thrust herself against Trent’s fingers. Suddenly she groaned and held on to Trent’s neck tightly. “It’s going to be too much, I can’t…”

  “You can. Look at me.”

She did and repeated, “It’s too much. I can’t let go.”

“I’ve got you.” Trent slowed her thrusts and instead swirled her fingers more gently. “You can let go. I’ll keep you safe.”

Wendy nodded and held on to her tightly. Trent started thrusting her fingers fast into Wendy’s wet sex.

“You need to come badly, don’t you?” Trent asked.

  “Yes, yes, now.”

She hastened her thrusts and felt the walls of her lover’s sex tumble into orgasm.

Wendy squeezed her neck so hard while obviously trying to stifle her scream, in case the kids heard anything. Then her arms went limp and Trent felt her start to shake.

Wendy tried to control her breathing and she clutched her hand to her chest.

“Are you, all right, Dee?” Trent asked while stroking her cheek.

“I don’t know.” She couldn’t help it when tears started to fall from her eyes. The emotion, the tenderness had been all too much for her, and all she wanted was to show Trent what she had unleashed from her heart. “I’m fine, I just need to touch you.”

She moved to turn Trent onto her back. Trent let her, and Wendy straddled her stomach as she kissed her passionately. Wendy hadn’t felt this kind of passion with anyone she had slept with since Bailey. She hadn’t thought she had it in her any more, but she was wrong.

Trent grasped her buttocks and pulled Wendy to her groin, and they both began a rocking motion. Wendy started to pull away from Trent’s kiss, grasped her lip between her teeth, and lightly bit it.

“You are a naughty girl.” Trent groaned.

  Wendy smiled. “We’ll see.”

She kissed her way down Trent’s body and spent time kissing around her navel and stomach. Wendy could feel Trent’s hips moving and thrusting into nothing.

“Jesus, I love the feel of your hair,” Trent said hungrily.

Wendy noticed her hair was brushing Trent’s inner thighs. Interesting.

She kissed her way down to Trent’s sex, making sure her hair dragged slowly over the area. Trent’s moans encouraged her that she was doing the right thing.

Trent sat up and said, “Suck it.”

When Wendy ran her tongue around her clit, Trent grasped her two braids and held them, encouraging Wendy to get on with it, and she did, sucking Trent right into her mouth.

“Oh yes, good girl.” Trent held her hair and thrust her hips faster.

Wendy loved hearing those words and feeling so free to give Trent this, after so long burying her needs and emotions.

Trent suddenly went stiff, grasped her hair tightly, and came with a low guttural moan. “Fuck.”

Trent relaxed her hold on Wendy and she crawled back up Trent’s body. They kissed and Trent said, “You are the most beautiful woman in the world.”

“I’m not beautiful. I’m a hippy who you would be embarrassed to take to one of your fancy lawyer events.”

Trent frowned. “Don’t ever say that. I love…who you are. Besides, I don’t let just anyone put me on my back.”

Wendy chuckled. “Too used to being on top, eh?” She traced her fingers along the scar above Trent’s eyebrow. “Don’t worry. I like you to be the butch top you are—I just needed to show you how I felt.”

“Why were you trembling and upset after you came, Dee? I didn’t do anything you didn’t like, did I?”

Wendy shook her head. “No, you couldn’t. I didn’t realize how much emotion and hurt I still had inside. I thought I had conquered it, but it was still in there, and the way you touched me, the way I was able to let go, it all came out.”

“You must have had lovers since you split up with your ex,” Trent said.

“I’ve had a few. It was just physical but this—” Wendy realized she had said too much. She wasn’t ready to talk about feelings, so she kissed Trent and hoped she wouldn’t ask any more.

Trent woke up and saw Wendy standing by the window in her shirt. It was funny—normally after she’d had sex with someone, she’d try to think about how to get out the door. She contrasted the feeling in her heart with how she’d felt after sleeping with Lady Claudia. She’d wanted out even before it started. It had been such a mistake.

Wendy looked so sexy in her shirt, but going by the tension she could feel in the air, a remark like that wouldn’t go down well.

“Dee? Are you all right?” Trent asked.

Wendy turned around. “Hi. I don’t know if I’m all right, to be honest.”

She was regretting it already, Trent thought. She sat up in bed and tried to build up the steely armour around her heart, but it wasn’t working. Wendy had destroyed it.

“Look, Dee, if you think you’ve made a mistake, if you’re looking for a way out—”

“No. It’s not that.” Wendy walked back over to the bed and sat. “Honestly, it’s not that. I’m scared. I promised myself that even though I had feelings for you, I would stay strong, because I can’t trust my emotions. I’ve never felt this way since Bailey.”

“I’m not going to abscond with your life savings,” Trent joked.

Wendy smiled. “I don’t think it would be worth your while. It’s not about that, it’s…she broke my heart. You haven’t been in a relationship for years, and maybe…Anyway, you’re a divorce lawyer. You know how difficult relationships are.”

Trent sighed and took her hand. “I could say that I would never do that to you. I could tell you that I’ve never cheated on anyone in my life, but I know that hurt young woman inside your head won’t listen straight away, and you’re right about my work. It’s given me a pretty dim view of long-term relationships, but then I saw how happy Dale and Becca were. Did you know, I gave Becca away at their wedding?”

Wendy shook her head and slid closer. “No, was that hard for you?”

Trent remembered walking down the aisle holding Becca and her heart hurting a little when she saw Dale waiting for her.

“Somewhat, but it also made me realize that there was something missing from my life. Despite all the drinks parties and wine bars of an evening, I felt more alone than I ever had. I wanted more, but I didn’t know how that was going to change. Then two children came running into my life, with you not far behind them.”

Wendy cupped Trent’s cheek. “I was lost and lonely too. I didn’t just come back from abroad to finish uni. I was lonely. I lived and worked with all these families, and all I wanted was what they had. But you broke up with Becca because she wanted a family. Now you have an instant one, and you’re doing really well, but if we take this further maybe it’ll be too much.”

“It’s scary for both of us. I never imagined myself with a family like my friends’, but despite all the difficulties, I’ve loved having the children here, and you have made my heart come to life again.”

“Everything’s happened so quickly,” Wendy said.

Trent thought for a moment, then had an idea. “It has been fast due to the circumstances, and we’ve missed out all the normal dating things. How about we start at the beginning? We go on dates and see if these emotions feel right, and build trust?”

Wendy smiled. “Yes, that makes me feel so much better.”

“And”—Trent sighed—“I can’t believe I’m going to say this. We don’t end up back here until you’re ready.”

“That’s a perfect idea, Peter.” Wendy kissed Trent’s lips and it developed into a long, slow kiss. Wendy pulled back breathlessly. “When does this no-sex thing start?”

Trent looked at her bedside clock. It read half past four in the morning. “Seven o’clock?”

Wendy giggled. “Yes, plenty of time.”

Trent pulled Wendy on top of her. “Come here, Wendy Darling.”

  Chapter Seventeen

November had rolled into December, and Alice and Noah were starting the local school today. Trent was nervous about letting them go. They would be out without her protection, and that was difficult for her to handle. Officially they would be there until the summer holidays, then would be enrolled in boarding school, but going by how anxious she felt now, Trent had no idea how she would let them go, a thought that would take time for her to come to terms with.

Trent had purposely kept her morning free so she could go with the children to school.

They were standing outside the school gate. Children were shouting, laughing, and running around, while lots of parents stood in groups, more interested in talking to each other than watching their kids.

Wendy was trying to button up Noah’s school blazer while Alice stood quietly beside Trent, holding her hand with a vice-like grip.

“Noah, stay still so I can button your jacket,” Wendy said.

“I’m too excited.” Noah seemed to be the only one looking forward to school.

Trent looked at Alice and saw tears in her eyes. “Hey, what’s wrong, Ali? Don’t cry.”

“I don’t want to go to school. I want to stay at home with Wendy.”

Trent crouched down and gave her a hug. “I know it’s scary when you don’t know anyone, Ali, but you’ll make friends. I promise. And I’ll get in trouble if I don’t send you to school.”

Wendy piped in, “And we don’t want that, do we?”

  Alice shook her head.

“Besides,” Wendy said, “it’s December, so you’ll be doing lots of projects for Christmas. Artwork, school nativity play, learning Christmas songs—it’ll be great.”

“Will you walk in with me?” Alice asked Trent.

“Of course I will. I’ll take you both to the school office and let them know you’re here.” Trent had made the school aware of Alice’s problems, and they promised to be very careful with her.

Trent stood up and said to Wendy, “Are you coming with us?”

Wendy said, “Why don’t you take them in, and I’ll wait for you at the car?”

Trent was the kids’ strong parental figure, and Wendy thought she should do this by herself. She gave both kids hugs and walked away.

She got back to the car and turned on the radio. Just as she saw Trent come around the corner and walk towards the car, the big love song of the moment started playing. Her heart fluttered. Trent was utterly gorgeous, and in that moment she regretted their pledge to go slow.

Trent was more kind and loving than she gave herself credit for, and when she talked so lovingly to Alice at the gate, Wendy realized she was falling in love.

Despite their pledge to have dates and build the trust they had in each other, their dates consisted of watching a movie together and cuddling up on the couch, as they couldn’t leave the children alone. Wendy loved the simple movie nights, but Trent, from what she had told her about her past, liked going out for dinner, for drinks at wine bars, generally very social things, and Wendy worried she might get bored.

Trent got into the car and let out a breath.

  “Everything all right?” Wendy asked.

“That was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.”

  “What happened?”

“The school secretary welcomed them and said she would take them to class, if I would like to leave. I could see how anxious Ali was, and I had to walk away.”

Wendy’s heart fluttered even more. “You really do love these kids, don’t you.”

Trent turned to her and smiled. “I never thought I’d ever say this, but I really do. They need someone and I want to be that someone.”

Wendy couldn’t help but lean over and kiss Trent tenderly. Trent smiled again. “What did I do to deserve that?”

  “For being you, Peter.”

Trent grinned. The term of endearment meant a lot to Trent. If Wendy thought of her that way, she was privileged.

Trent had started reading Peter Pan to Noah and Alice. She was intrigued by Wendy’s love for the story and had never read it as a child. Fairy tales weren’t encouraged by
her nanny, but she was beginning to understand why Wendy liked it so much.

“Wendy, there’s something I wanted to talk to you about.”

Wendy looked worried. “Is it something we should be talking about in front of the school?”

“It’s nothing bad, I hope. I know we haven’t had the chance to be alone much and to get to know each other like we planned. The kids are always with us, and the closest thing we have to a date is watching a film together. At your age you want to be out enjoying life, and I’m wondering if what we have together is holding you back?”

“You’re worrying about that?” Wendy started to laugh.

  “Yes, why is it funny?”

“Before you got back to the car, I was worried that you missed your social life, dinners out at nice restaurants, wine bars—I thought watching movies with me was holding you back,” Wendy said.

Trent cupped her cheek. “Never ever think that. I enjoy dinner with you and the kids and then having you in my arms on the couch as we watch whatever is on TV. I’m happy.”

“Then we should both stop worrying and enjoy our time together.”

The only thing Trent regretted was saying they should wait before ending up back in bed together. She wanted Wendy so much, and every night when she closed her eyes, all she could think of was making love to Wendy.

It was frustrating, but she wanted to make Wendy—and her heart—feel safe and comfortable with her.

“Now that we have that sorted out, I wanted to ask you something. Becca and Dale are going to Lapland to spend Christmas with their kids. It’s a Christmas magic experience—you stay in a log cabin, do Christmas activities, and meet the real Santa Claus.”

Trent winked at her last statement and Wendy laughed. “That sounds so sweet.”

“Yes, Becca asked us to go. I thought it might be a good idea to take the kids’ minds off their dad. I think Christmas is going to be hardest for them.”

“I think that’s a wonderful idea. Every kid dreams of going to visit Santa.”

“I never had a magical Christmas. I hated it and was always jealous of how excited my school friends got about it. So I’d like to make it magical for them. Alice and Noah deserve it so much after what they’ve been through.”
