Lifting my head, I see a text from Gavin.
G: Another win for Tango Bravo.
The smile that spreads across my lips reaches from ear to ear. Hearing that name never fails to warm my heart. After leaving Seoul, Taejo and I started the Tango Bravo Foundation. A foundation with the sole purpose of helping victims of human trafficking and domestic violence. Although, I do have to say, our foundation is known for offering refuge to anyone seeking a place to go. All they have to do is ask. With Are, Key, and Hye now safely running the Seoul division of the Tango Bravo Foundation, my heart is lighter.
“Another time perhaps,” Taejo states, rising from the couch.
“Wait, what? You’re leaving?”
“It would seem I am needed,” he replies, showing me his text from Gavin.
G: Uncle Tae, I know you’re with Kylee, but I need your help. We need to welcome a new member into the house of Tango Bravo. This one is extra special.
Extra special? Inwardly, I groan. What has Gavin gotten himself into this time? Peering up at my uncle, I ask, “Aren’t you going to finish your story?”
“It’s a conversation for another day.”
“At least tell me if you’ve spoken to her.”
“And who might her be?” he teases, an all-knowing glint shining in the depths of his eyes.
“Don’t pretend like you don’t know I’m talking about Nari. Have you seen her lately, Tae? You’ve yet to tell me what happened between you all those years ago.”
“Hmm, it would seem we have much to talk about then, doesn’t it?” He smiles, bending to kiss my forehead.
“But I’m afraid it is a conversation for another day.”
“Oh, that’s not fair.”
A mischievous grin lights up his face as he calls goodbye, heading for the door. As the door closes, my mind wanders back to his earlier statement. Descendants of royal blood. Who? How? Maybe that’s why he always insists on calling me princess.
No, it can’t be. That’s silly, isn’t it? Lost in a world of possibilities, I almost miss my daughter’s smiling face as she bounds over to the couch. Resting her little head on my belly, she dawns a goofy grin much like her father. Noah soon joins her, scrunching up on the couch, resting his head next to hers. Little peals of joyous laughter ring throughout the house as they chuckle in amusement while their younger sibling kicks their face. Alex saunters up to me, warming me with his body as he throws an arm behind me, placing a kiss on my temple.
Drinking in the sight of my family, my heart swells to near bursting. Every dark thought or painful ache I’ve ever had leaves me. Every single one of them guided me to this moment in time, to a life filled with love and passion, faith and utter devotion. As I look upon my ever-growing family, a sense of rightness settles deep in my heart, and I send up a little prayer of thanks to God.
That one day, long ago, he ignored a little girl’s tragic plea for death and instead gifted her with life.
To my wonderful husband and son who’ve managed to be patient with me through all of the ups and downs of writing this series, thank you. I do not know what I would do without your love and sarcasm. They keep me sane when the walls are closing in. I am so thankful the two of you are on this crazy ride with me.
Yasmeen, my darling sister who never fails to listen and guide me even when she doesn’t realize she is, thank you. I will be eternally grateful that you were brought into my life. To my parents who have supported me throughout this insanely amazing journey, thank you so much. Your love and continued support mean so much.
Clara Fox, my sister from another mister, what would I do without you? My heart sings every single time my phone lights up with your smiling face. I honestly do not know what I would do if you didn’t keep me grounded on a daily basis. I love you so much more than you will ever know.
Gabbie, Tara, and Barb, you three are my soul sisters. Our daily text messages and rants are seriously enough to keep a girl rolling in laughter for years to come. I love you girls to the moon and back!
Edee, my darling girl. You and I started this business relationship a year ago, and it has flourished blossoming into something so much bigger than either of us expected. I am forever grateful to God for bringing you into my life because you are a gift to anyone who knows you. Thank you for helping me to make my dreams a reality.
Rachel Rivera, you are insanely talented and I value our friendship more than I can express in words. Thank you so much for taking my ideas and turning them into something magical. I cannot wait to see what we accomplish together in the future!
To my wonderful team, all of my beta’s, my editor Edee M. Fallon, my cover designer Rachel Rivera, my formatter Stacey Blake and my promotional crew at Once Upon An Alpha. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Last but not least, to all of the readers and bloggers who have taken the time to read Royal Blood, thank you. Without you, I would not exist.
