A Life in Darkness Page 10

  “What is it?”

“EJ—you called me that, twice during the mission.”

  “I did…”

She turned fully to face me once again. “Don’t ever call me that again.”

  “Are you serious?”

  Her brows furrowed. “Yes.”

  “I think it’s a cute nickname.”

She put on emphasis on her words this time. “Do not call me that again, Darrius.”

A smirk lifted one side of my mouth as I said, “Sure thing.”

This time one of her eyebrows lifted but she said nothing else as she turned and walked out of my quarters. I chuckled as I made my way back to my bedroom thinking, life will sure turn out to be interesting. And more than I could’ve ever imagined.
