[31] Henriette (Henni) Hoffmann/ von Schirach was the daughter of the NSDAP official photographer, Heinrich Hoffmann. The photographer helped Hitler with his art collection, with the selection of works for the Great German Art Exhibition – in fact an exasperated Hitler put him in sole charge of selection, when the initial exhibits did not meet his expectations. The daughter, Henni, had known Hitler since she was ten. She later married the Nazi youth leader and future Gauleiter of Vienna, Baldur von Schirach. Although her books, written after the war, are self-serving potboilers, her anecdotes are very revealing of Hitler.
