Fargen fronds tasted disgusting, but she was well worth the discomfort. I spat the paste out into my hand and smeared it across her injury. I felt guilty when I found myself once again distracted by the beauty of her shapely limbs.
I was ashamed to admit that my member hardened even at such an innocent touch. I had lived alone for so long, too long. I had long since despaired of ever finding a mate to share my days with. And now I’d found her and I wanted to worship her body, but I could not and would not do that until she was able to enjoy it alongside me.
I pressed a hand to her brow and noted instantly that her skin was on fire. That was a serious symptom, and I knew I must work hard to break the fever. I hurried to tug the rest of the strange covering from her body and then tossed it off to the side.
There were more scratches on her side. They weren’t nearly as deep, but I applied more paste just to be safe. Those cuts were so shallow that I doubted they were from the Barvok’s venomous tail.
I drizzled a bit of water into her mouth and she sputtered at first before swallowing. I repeated the gesture a few more times and then I rocked back on my heels, unsure of what to do next. I briefly considered pulling the strange skin back over her head.
But she was feverish and I needed her to be as cool as possible. Also, I wished to admire her beautiful form at my leisure. There was no part of her luscious body that did not interest me.
Her breasts were round and full, and topped by dusky pink nipples. I yearned to take one in my mouth, but I would not touch her while she slept, not like that. I would tend her wounds and care for her, and nothing else. My sac grew tight and heavy with need for her, but I kept my hands to myself.
Day gave way to night, and hunger stirred my belly. However, I did not want to leave her side in order to forage. I feared that she would wake the moment I departed. I nibbled on some dried Sarblo fruit and took comfort in watching the gentle rise and fall of her chest as she slept.
I could not remember another time when my mind was so full of possibilities. I began to map out a plan for the next day. I would need to gather twice as much food as I normally did. Then again, she was much smaller than me, so perhaps I wouldn’t require quite that much.
But I didn’t want her to experience hunger. No, that certainly wouldn’t do. I would work as hard as I needed to in order to provide for my mate. She would want for nothing.
The hours passed, and once I felt for certain that she was stable I allowed myself a much needed respite. I laid next to her, and slowed my breaths until at last I slumbered. All my thoughts and dreams were of her.
I slept only a brief while, because there was too much to do to rest for long. I arose filled with excitement and a new feeling of purpose in my life. I pressed a hand to her brow, and was relieved to note that her skin had cooled significantly. The Fargen fronds were working to rid her body of the poison.
After assuring myself that she was still sleeping soundly I left to hunt. Although I was loathe to leave her side, I knew I needed to provide her with nourishment when she awoke. I moved quietly so as not to wake her, taking a long moment to soak in her beauty before I swung onto the nearest vine and began my descent to the ground.
I would find her meat, and that would please her and make her strong. My mind skipped ahead to the coming future with pride. She would open her arms to me and invite me to pleasure her body. We would mate, and then her waist would grow thick with our young.
