  His body now turned towards Jocham and the Courtier’s, who were all staring at Ellard with disbelief, “we are free.”

  Jocham nodded, “you are,” he seemed at a loss as to what else he could possibly say.

  “We must no longer be perverted,” the voices seemed to be losing some of their strength, and his body was filling with numbness that could only herald unconsciousness. Ellard heard inside his mind additional voices saying to him ‘you must end the curse’.

  Jocham gave a nod, “we will not pervert you.”

  “End the curse. It is within your power.”

  Jocham was about to speak once more, when Ellard felt the strange other presence leave his body, which fell to the floor when it was released.

  Ellard’s leg’s buckled as he landed, and he fell forwards, his head hitting the concrete with a thud that he heard as well as felt, and blackness was upon him.
