“Just give me my brother back and we will be on our way.”

“I'm not giving you anything. You’re going to have to pay to get him back, whatever it left.”

I refused again and for a moment, I thought that he was going to attack me but then there was a loud crashing at the front door and then the sound of police identifying themselves.

  What was going on?

I looked over at Connor and he just kind of smiled. This was all his idea. Once the cops knew that we were in a part of a kidnapping, they let us go, right before I was introduced to one of his friends. Apparently, his friend Jack had a lot of people that they knew in high places and since Connor knew that something like this would happen, he told Jack about Vincent and Jack had found out all kinds of interesting information. It had been enough to convince the police, that they needed to pick him up. It helped of course, that he had several warrants out for his arrest, on top of the new crimes he’d committed against us.

“Trust me Anna, I don’t like to involve cops, but this was for the best.”

I agreed. I came here too get my brother. Ezekiel was now standing next to me. What more can I ask for really?

I don't know how everything was going to turn out, but I was hopeful for once. There were a few moments, where I didn't think my brother and Connor were going to get along, but then it was clear that they would. Ezekiel was looking at Connor as if he could be a father figure. I know that the age was off a little bit, but the idea that my brother could finally come out of his shell was a good one. Connor was just the man to do it, so patient.

We all went back to Connor’s place and I don't know why, but I slept over there for several days, even though it was cramped. I think it was just because I felt safest when I was with Connor.

One night, we laid up in bed and I was still breathing a little hard from the round orgasm he had just given me. He really was magical when it came to that.

“I wish we could stay here forever.”

  “Why can't we?”

“Because Connor, I've got to go back to work and you have to get back to your life, don't you?”

He chuckled. “You just don’t get it, do you? Anna, you are my life. You and our family.”

  “Our family?

“Yeah, you and Ezekiel. As well as our little ones that have yet to be born.”

He touched my stomach and I looked at him surprised. “Do you really think?”

“If not yet, soon. Did you really not look up anything about us before you made all these promises?”

He explained that shifters were a bit more fertile, which made sense, because they just seemed to be more of everything.

“Guess I should have read the fine print.”

“Alas, you should have. And I should take you out on a proper date.”

“Why, you don’t like our origin story?”

“Not particularly, I think we need to rewrite it.”

I had to agree. I wanted to write it over without the kidnapping, Vincent, all of it. But then, would it still be us?
