“I can’t control my actions while I sleep.”
We keep the conversation over breakfast light and fun. You could cut the sexual tension between us with a plastic knife. “I have to go home today,” Ryder announces.
“Awe, and here I thought you were moving in with me to better keep tabs on me,” I whine sarcastically.
Ryder damn near spits his coffee out. “Ugh you are a BRATTY ONE!”
I laugh, “You’re just NOW fingering this out?” Oh shit! I didn’t mean to say finger, “I meant figuring,” I cover quickly. But it’s too late, Ryder caught it and caught it fast. He moves in closer to me, he’s so close that the tiny little hairs on my ear lobe are brushing against his lip as he says, “IF I were FINGERING it out, trust me you wouldn’t be able to talk.”
I take a deep breath trying to catch myself, so that he doesn’t catch on to me too deeply. “When are you leaving?” I ask trying to change the subject.
“How fast can you be ready to go?” he asks.
“Oh, that quick huh? Let me throw on some shoes, I can take you to the airport now!” I respond as I go to get off the barstool.
Ryder quickly catches my arm, sending an electric current through my very core. “I meant pack some things. You’re coming with me.”
“Ryder. I. Can’t. I have a deadline. And I don’t know where I would stay and…” I stammer.
Ryder cuts me off, “You’re staying with me, so that I can see to it, that you meet your deadline.”
“Ryder, that isn’t…” I take a deep breath praying that the next line from my mouth doesn’t hurt his feelings or our friendship. “A good idea,” I save myself quickly.
“What were you really going to say Aurora?”
“I…”
“Just say it Aurora!”
“Won’t your flavors be jealous?” I cover.
Ryder laughs, “What flavors?”
“Sugar Tits, Sweet Cheeks, Bimbo Barbie?” Ryder is full on belly laughing at me! This fucking prick! Who the fuck does he think he is laughing at me?
“You mean the made-up women you’ve put me with in your head?”
Now it’s my turn to laugh, “You’re the one that was talking about your pet to me a few weeks ago.”
“Wow! You have a VERY corrupted mind Aurora. Maybe there is a naughty vixen inside of you just waiting to be released. When I was talking about Sydney crawling to me stealth like…I was talking about my bearded dragon! What did you think I meant?”
“I don’t know, with your lifestyle. How do I know you don’t collar your pets and make them crawl to you?”
Ryder laughs and he says, “Aurora, there’s SO much more to it and if you were to open your mind, you’d learn there’s so much more to my lifestyle than the kinky fuckery you read and write about.”
“I’ve been asking and you give bullshit answers! I want REAL answers when I ask questions! I NEED details!” I defend.
“Maybe there are some things I can’t answer.”
“Can’t or Won’t? Because from where I’m standing, there’s a huge difference.”
“Aurora, there are rules in my lifestyle that are NOT meant to be broken.”
“How is anyone supposed to get past all the mockery from said lifestyle if people like you don’t come clean?”
“We always come clean,” Ryder jokes.
“Seriously? I’m trying to have a serious conversation with you, and you change the subject! You know what? Never mind! Not my fucking problem! I’ll take you to the airport.”
“You’re coming with me Aurora!”
“What are you gonna do? Kidnap me?” I challenge.
“IF you were mine, you wouldn’t sit for a week for talking back like that.”
“Well then, considering my deadline is looming, it’s a good thing I’ll NEVER be yours!”
Ryder
“Challenge accepted Aurora!” I declare to myself. I fucking HATE the bratty ones. Why is this one so different? “She’s NOT your sub Ryder,” I remind myself.
Aurora drives us to a private airstrip and I ask, “Do you want to check out the plane?”
“If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all.”
“I don’t think so.” I tell her.
“Fine, I’ll quickly have a look. I’m sure you need to get home to your butler and stuff.”
“My butler and stuff?” This woman and her banter are something else!
I shoot Barb a message with instructions to lock the door once I take Aurora further into the plane.
I give her the tour and watch as she takes it all in. The plush reclining seats, the couch. She looks mesmerized by all of it. I hear the door lock and the plane starts moving. Bracing myself for Aurora’s backlash, I sit down on the couch and wait.
“What the FUCK!? Ryder, I told you that I can’t go with you! I’m not someone you can just take to your playhouse!”
I laugh, it’s so funny to me how people perceive my lifestyle, a lifestyle they know nothing about. I shake my head.
“I don’t have any clothes! I don’t have my computer, how’s an author supposed to meet the deadline when you’re kidnapping her?! What about my car? I left it parked on the strip! They’re going to tow my car!” She screams at me.
“Aurora, sit down!” I demand. If she keeps poking me, I’m going to show her a side of me that I’m quite certain she isn’t ready to see. She sits down next to me. “I already have it all handled. It’ll be okay.”
“Ryder, I don’t fit in with your flavors, they’re going to get jealous!” She starts rambling, “I don’t need anymore bullshit. I don’t want anymore drama. I sure as fuck don’t want your fucking pets off their leashes causing problems for me!”
“This right here, is the reason I’m taking you to my slice of the world. I want you to see the REAL me. Not the me that you made up in your beautiful, yet misguided mind. People get this lifestyle all wrong all the time, but I want you to see the REAL in it. I read your books and it’s just a feeling, but I believe that there’s a naughty vixen waiting to come out and it’s my job as not only your boss, but as your friend to help you unleash it!”
“You think that by showing me your kink, that it’s going to happen?” She questions.
“Well fuck, when you put it that way! Yeah, it does sound ludicrous!”
“Why me?” Aurora inquires.
“Because I think that of all the people in this world, YOU will be the one to understand it the most from the outside looking in.”
“Ryder, I’m not cut out to be flogged or whatever you call it.”
“Aurora, rest assured that NOBODY who’s seriously into this lifestyle does anything that they don’t want to do.”
“I know that. I’m just trying to figure things out. It seems like a glorified way of cheating when you have multiple partners.”
“Who says when someone like me is fully committed that I cheat? When I’m with someone, I’m with ONLY them.” I take a breath, sometimes it’s so hard and energy draining trying to get people to see the truth behind this lifestyle. I’m not sure why I want Aurora to see the real side of this so badly. She’s my employee. Okay, my very HOT and available employee.
“Okay, so you whisk me away to your playhouse, you show me the side of this world I’m missing, then what? It’s supposed to magically cure my writer’s block so that I write book two in record time?”
“Something like that.”
I don’t even have to look at her to know that she’s rolling her eyes. We land on a private airstrip on the outside of my property. Derek and Jered are waiting for us with two four-wheelers. Derek and Jered take one back to the house and I let Aurora drive the one I’m on with her. We get up to the house, and I can tell that she’s absolutely taken aback by this place. I know I was the first time I saw it. The pure wood cabin, three stories high. Wrap around porch, the metal roof. It’s the perfect place to call home. We head inside and I just watch her take it all in. Her in that oversized sweater and legg
ings. I bet she has a gorgeous body underneath those baggy clothes. “Ryder, stop. You’re going to scare the poor girl!” I scold myself.
“You don’t decorate for Christmas?”
“If I had someone to celebrate it with me, I probably would.”
“Me too! My dad usually schedules to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to give the younger ones more time with their kids since they grow up so fast.”
“That’s sad, if I had you in my world, I would spend every day with you,” I mumble to myself.
“I’m sorry what was that?” Aurora asks.
“Would you like to help me decorate for Christmas?” I don’t know where this is coming from, but the thought of her being home alone on Christmas is heart breaking to me.
“Really? Like today?” Aurora asks suspiciously.
“Yeah, why not? Take a break from writing, clear your mind,” I tell her trying to sell her on the idea. “It’ll help when you get back to it.”
“Yeah! That sounds like fun!”
Aurora helps me carry boxes down from the attic. I go over to the bookshelf, where I have the stereo set up, and I place a few CDS into the docks and press play. The evening spent with her is perfect. Decorating the cabin for Christmas while dancing to songs like Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree and Jingle Bell Rock. We take a break to make dinner.
“You like to cook?” Aurora asks me.
“I do. What about you?”
“I like baking better,” she says sincerely. This woman just keeps getting better and better. We start cooking and mid-way through, I accidently knock a bottle of cooking wine over on the counter and it spills all over her leggings and my shirt.
“Oh shit!” Aurora says and then covers her mouth realizing that she’s said a bad word in front of me like I haven’t heard her curse before. This woman is so cute when she’s frustrated.
“Your sweater dress is long enough that if you want, I can put your leggings in the wash.”
“That wine will NEVER come out!”
“My grandmom told me dish soap and peroxide. Once upon a time ago.”
“Grandmom? She sounds like a really cool person.”
“She was the best. She was one of my best friends.”
Aurora takes off her boots and leggings and hands them to me. I go into the laundry area and start pretreating the leggings. I take my shirt off to pretreat that as well. I go back out to the kitchen and notice Aurora’s red lace panties showing as she is bent over placing the casserole in the oven.
I start to envision wrapping my arms around her from behind and pulling her into me. Peppering kisses on her neck. “Ryder, get a grip!” I scold myself. The last thing you need is to pitch a tent in your kitchen with a half-naked chick like Aurora here. It would ruin all your chances with this rare gemstone. She turns around and her eyes roam up my chest and meet my gaze. I can’t help but wonder what this beauty is thinking. I notice her bite her lip.
“Are you okay?” I ask her.
“I am. I just.”
“Just say it Aurora, you’re safe here.” I tell her.
“It’s just been a while since I’ve been this exposed with a guy before,” Aurora confesses.
“What do you mean?”
“Well, it’s been a better part of five years since I’ve been with a guy.”
“How’s that even possible being that you were engaged to Nathan?”
“We never slept together.”
“So, you’ve never…” I start to ask not knowing if this is a safe conversation.
“Ryder, your shyness is adorable! Have a seat I’ll tell you about it,” she says, pointing to the barstool next to the counter she jumped up to sit on. Her legs dangle from the counter and I notice how smooth and shimmery they look. I start to imagine running my hands up those silky legs and meeting her inner thigh. I quickly snap myself out of the thoughts and sit on the barstool furthest away from her.
“I don’t bite.” Aurora says biting her lip not making eye contact. Her eyes quickly dart to mine half covered by her hair she adds, “not unless you want me to.”
“Aurora, you can’t keep saying stuff like that. I’m trying to be the gentleman right now.”
“Who said you have to be?”
“This isn’t fair Aurora, today you are…” I stop not knowing how this conversation is supposed to go.
“Look, I’m not as innocent as you think I am.”
Oh, dear GOD this woman is going to give me the biggest case of blue balls in the history of blue balls.
“Can I tell you a secret?” Aurora seductively asks me.
“Of course.” I say looking her in the eyes.
“I never felt a strong enough connection with him to even want to sleep with him. I kept telling myself that it was for marriage, but deep down, that wasn’t it.”
“What do you mean by connection?” I ask her feeling like I’m treading on thin ice.
“That connection where you just want to be with that person, or you don’t have anything specific that you want to talk to them about, you just want to talk to them.”
“Makes sense.”
“That connection where you watch their fingers grab onto an ornament to hang on the tree and you wonder what it would be like to have those fingers grab onto you.” Aurora says almost blushing.
“That’s what you were thinking today?” I ask her sliding my body a barstool closer to her.
“I have another confession to make, about what I was thinking,” Aurora says sliding closer to me.
“What’s that Sapphire?” I ask cupping her cheek and brushing her skin with the padding of my thumb.
“When you hung the mistletoe, I wondered what it would be like to kiss you,” Aurora confesses softly. My thumb gently caresses her lips as we get lost in each other’s eyes. Our bodies feel the pull bringing us together like an unstoppable force. Our lips mere centimeters from one another, I’m about to kiss this beautiful woman I’ve waited my whole life to kiss and the timer on the oven goes off breaking off all magic that was in the air leading up to that would be kiss.
“Fucking timer,” I mumble under my breath. Aurora lets out a laugh, I guess she heard my mumbling. She jumps off the counter and grabs the casserole out of the oven. I watch her as she places the casserole on the trivet.
“Raincheck?” Aurora asks me with her sexy seductive smile.
“You can count on it!” I reply. Over dinner our conversation is light, fun but we can both feel the sexual tension mounting. As we clean up the dishes from dinner, she’s standing at the kitchen sink washing a dish by hand. I move in behind her placing my hands just below her sweater dress. My hands start to slide up her legs, I hear the catch in her breath as my hands lift the dress roaming further north. My lips find a place on her neck that begs to be kissed. Gently placing my lips on her silky soft neck just below her ear.
“Mmm,” Aurora moans in agreement. She pushes herself back into me and I know she’s feeling the hard erection through my jeans. To confirm my suspicions, I hear a light gasp escape her lips. My arms slink around her waist under her sweater to her abdomen.
Aurora is compassionate, but she won’t sugar coat. She’s smart, funny, and she isn’t afraid to enjoy food. She has meat on her bones and she’s absolutely the most beautiful woman I have ever met in my life. What I love the most about her is that she’s real. I have never had this attraction to anyone before in my life. I’ve only known this woman in person for less than twenty-four hours and I’ve already developed a serious addiction to her.
She turns around quickly and places her arms around my neck, her fingers find my hair, which I keep long enough for moments like these. My arms draw her closer to me. I bring my lips slowly towards hers, our lips brushing against each other. I feel Aurora grab onto my hair a little harder and pull me close enough for our lips to collide. Our tongues dance together as if it were the only dance it’s ever known. I feel her nails trail down my back as our kiss intensifies.
I know that if we continue this, I’m going to want more than she’s willing to give. I reluctantly pull away from her.
“You okay?” she asks me softly.
“Aurora, I want so much to take you in the other room and kiss every inch of your gorgeous body.”
“What’s stopping you?” she seductively challenges me.
“The fact that I really don’t want to mess this up in any way, shape, or form,” I confess. Aurora gives me this look like she doesn’t believe a word I’m saying to her. I cup her cheek with my hand, and tilt her face so that her eyes meet mine. “Aurora, the last thirty-eight hours of my life since I’ve officially met you have been like a dream that I don’t want to wake up from,” I tell her softly. “I want nothing more than to light a fire in the fireplace and make love to you until the sun comes up.” At this point, I’m not even recognizing the sound of my own voice. This woman has me so wrapped up in her that I will never be the same again.
“Then I guess we should call it a night, because I want that more than anything too,” Aurora confesses softly.
“Your leggings need to be dried yet,” I say remembering that I forgot to put them in the drier.
“Then you better light the fire in the fireplace,” Aurora states. This woman is a siren song with all the right moves.
I head towards the laundry room to put the clothes in the dryer. I notice that the wine stain did come out! I tell myself more as a distraction than anything. After starting the dryer and collecting my thoughts, I walk out to where Aurora is. I stop in the doorway just admiring the scene. She’s found one of my Christmas CDs with my all-time favorite songs on it and the song that’s playing is called Let’s be Naughty, Save Santa the Trip. The song is very seductive sounding, and she’s dancing to the beat while fixing something on the tree. Melting all of my resolve to keep my hands off of her tonight and take things slowly I walk over to her and I whisper in her ear, “You keep dancing like this I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to resist you any longer.” As if testing me, she grinds her butt up against my midsection in beat of the song. I turn her around to face me and I crash my lips to hers. Our kiss never breaks as we walk towards my bedroom on the other side of the kitchen. When we reach my bedroom, her arms reach down towards the button on my jeans. I gather her sweater dress up and raise it to just above her belly button, my phone starts ringing. I let out a groan.
