Canadian Christopher G. Moore is the creator of the award winning Vincent Calvino crime fiction series and the author of the Land of Smiles Trilogy.
He studied at Oxford University and taught law at the University of British Columbia. His first fictional work were radio plays for the CBC and NHK. His first novel was published in New York in 1985.
After four years in New York, at the end of 1988, he arrived in Thailand. The visit was meant to be temporary. More than 20 years on and 23 novels later, he continues to live and write in Bangkok. His novels have been published in a dozen languages.
The second novel in his Vincent Calvino series, Asia Hand, won the Shamus Award (Best Original Paperback) in 2011. The third novel, Zero Hour in Phnom Penh, won the German Critics Award for International Crime Fiction (Deutsche Krimi Preis) in 2004, and the Premier Special Director’s Award Semana Negra (Spain) in 2007.
