FREDRIK LOGEVALL is John S. Knight Professor of International Studies and professor of history at Cornell University, where he serves as director of the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies. His previous books on the Vietnam struggle include the prizewinning Choosing War: The Lost Chance for Peace and the Escalation of the War in Vietnam. He is also co-author of America’s Cold War: The Politics of Insecurity and A People & A Nation: A History of the United States. A former Leverhulme Professor at the University of Nottingham and Mellon Senior Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, he also has taught at Yale University and the University of California, Santa Barbara. He lives in Ithaca, New York.
