I felt my cheeks heat as I thought back to our night in his game room. “It was fun.”
“And how’s your sex life been with Cameron since then?”
I swallowed. His questions were far too private coming from an acquaintance, but nothing about our situation was normal. Not to mention there was something about Corey that made me feel at ease around him. “Really good.”
“Listen, Tanya and I have played around for a long time. There’s no way this is going to be uncomplicated when you’re just starting out.”
I blinked. “Wait, what?”
“I understand there are a lot of things going through your mind right now-”
I waved my hand, trying to collect my thoughts. “No. You said you and Tanya have played around for years. What did you mean by that?”
“We have sex with other people when the opportunity presents itself.”
“That’s not what she told us.”
“What?”
“At book club - or at her sex toy party, I should say - she told us that you’d always talked about trying this kind of thing, but that you’d never gone through with it.”
“Okay… I don’t know why she said that. Maybe she just meant that we hadn’t done this closed group thing before. We usually just go to clubs. Or I’ll take a girl up to my room when I’m traveling and Tanya watches us on webcam.”
I didn’t like the sound of this. It seemed that Tanya had misled us all into thinking she was as clueless as the rest of us about this sort of thing. And she’d drawn Cameron twice in a row. Was that planned?
“Ooh, pie,” Mel said, returning to the table. “I’m starving.”
Corey chuckled, hiking his thumb in Mel’s direction. “This one worked up quite an appetite.”
I looked over at Mel and saw her cheeks color. “Oh.” I thought I’d just thought it, not said it aloud, but from the way Corey was grinning at me, I was wrong.
“We were paired up at last month’s party, too,” Corey said and sipped his coffee. “It doesn’t have to be awkward, Sandra.”
“It was just different from what I’d read about. The idea of swinging used to get me going, but the reality…” I shook my head and pushed my plate away.
“Come on, let’s go,” Corey said, taking one last bite of pie and dropping a couple of bills on the table - enough to cover what I’d already consumed and a generous tip.
Mel reluctantly scooted out of the booth, scarfing down what remained of her pie.
“Do you wanna grab a shower?” Corey asked as we climbed the stairs to the top floor of his house.
“I-”
“There are fresh towels in here,” he said and ushered me through a soft-lit bedroom and into the en suite.
“Thank you,” I said, looking around the spacious and immaculate bathroom.
“Take your time,” he said, smiling as he closed the door.
The water pressure was great and I happily rinsed off any trace of Tom on my body. Not that my sore ass could be washed away, especially since I’d sat on it at the diner. What was Cameron going to say when he saw it? Would he be worried or turned on?
I dried off and wrapped a towel around me. My dress and underwear just looked sad, and I decided to hang them up for a while. Hopefully Corey wouldn’t mind if I lay down in the bedroom to rest.
As I opened the door, though, I realized that the room was already occupied. I tried not to look, but curiosity got the better of me, and I saw Mel riding Corey, her head thrown back, her mouth parted and her eyes closed.
I was attempting to tiptoe out of there when I made eye contact with Corey. He reached out his hand, beckoning me. I shook my head no, but then Mel turned her head.
“Stay.”
“You said you enjoyed the fantasy,” Corey said. “You can just watch if you like.”
Weirdly, this was a better visual than the one I’d had earlier in the night, and I thought maybe it could help erase the other one.
Wordlessly, I sat down on a little settee by the window, giving me a side view of the lovers. Embarrassed yet fascinated, I took it all in. The muscles playing on Corey’s arms and Mel’s legs. The sheen on their sweat-dampened bodies. Corey’s pecs and abs. Mel’s flat stomach and round breasts. The arc of her lower back and her hair curling with sweat at the ends.
I felt my sex clench and grow wet. My nipples were hard and pressing against the rough texture of the towel. My breathing was shallow and in tune with Mel’s pants of exertion. When she came, I bit my lip to keep myself from whimpering. I wanted what she had - that look on her face, that ecstasy in her body, that warmth of an afterglow as she came down from her high.
Corey rolled her off of him and pulled out. I stared as he got up from the bed, discarded the condom he’d been wearing and donned a new one as he walked over to where I was sitting, his still hard cock bobbing with each step. How had he been able to hold back his orgasm as Mel squeezed him with her inner walls?
“Did you enjoy yourself?” he asked, reaching out to stroke my jawline with his thumb.
“I-” I started, but couldn’t find the words, so I just nodded instead.
“Sandra? Do you trust me to look after you?”
I swallowed. I knew what he was asking and I wanted it. I would probably be breaking some sort of rule, but I wanted to know what it could be like with someone like Corey.
I placed my hand in his and let him pull me to my feet. His hands were big and warm as they framed my face and I parted my lips even before his mouth made contact.
His kiss was languid and thorough. The kind of kiss you only shared when you had all night, or even a long weekend in bed planned. I hardly noticed that he’d guided me to the bed until he pulled away and loosened my towel. It fell to the floor and even though I stood bared before him, I didn’t feel naked.
“You’re so beautiful, Sandra,” he said, looking me up and down as his hands traced my sides. “I had an activity planned for our first time, but I’ll save that for next month.”
“Next month?”
“I have a feeling we’ll be spending some time together very soon. But for right now, tell me what you want. What makes you feel good?”
I looked over his shoulder at Mel, who was propped up against the headboard with the covers pulled up to her armpits, swiping at the screen of her cell phone. She looked up and made eye contact.
“Oh, I’ll get out of your hair. Corey, it’s okay if I use the first-floor guest room, right?”
“Sure. Thanks for tonight, Mel,” Corey said, kissing her cheek as she climbed out of bed.
“You too,” she said and winked at me as she left the room. Once she’d gone, Corey turned his attention back to me. “Tell me.”
“I’m tired,” I said, shivering slightly.
“Okay. I understand, you’ve had a long night. How ‘bout you just go to bed and-”
“No,” I cut him off with a hand over his heart. “That’s not what I meant. I’m tired of playing a part in someone else’s fantasy - or mine, for that matter. I know I’m being dull, but I’d really just like to feel… safe.”
“Okay,” he said and stroked my hair. “I’ve got you.”
He lifted the covers for me and I climbed under them. Then he walked around the bed and climbed in on the other side. The sheets smelled of sex, but I didn’t mind. Corey lay down on his side, facing me, and I scooted closer so that we were almost touching, but not quite.
“How do you do it?” I asked quietly and he reached out to stroke my arm.
“How do I do what?”
“Sleep with other women on a regular basis?”
“I guess sex just means different things to different people. I enjoy women, but I already have a committed relationship. I don’t need to forge another one.”
“So it doesn’t mean anything to you? It’s just an activity?”
“I wouldn’t say it doesn’t mean anything. I’m grateful for whatever I share with another person, and I value that connection. Take
Mel for example. She’s a beautiful woman and I enjoy her company, but she has a husband to go home to, and I have to look him in the eye next time we meet. And I will. With gratitude that he’s shared his wife with me. Just like I’m grateful to Mel for sharing her body with me.”
“Hm.”
“Any other questions?” He raised his eyebrows at me and I felt myself blush.
“Sorry. I’m just… trying to figure it all out.”
“You can ask me whatever you want. I’m an open book.”
“Why did you agree to come meet me at the diner?”
“I felt responsible. Since Tanya instigated this whole thing and we’re hosting the parties, that makes me a host, too. And when Mel told me you’d been with Tom and had left early, I got a bad feeling. I noticed Carmen avoiding Tom and Lauren at the party, and I didn’t ask her if there was something wrong when I should have.”
“Tom’s behavior isn’t your fault.”
“What we do here is supposed to be about mutual pleasure and having fun. If there’s a person in the group taking advantage, then I have to step in. I know you’re all new at this, which makes me - and Tanya - responsible for whatever goes down.”
“You’re a good guy, aren’t you?” I smiled at him.
He returned my smile and inched closer. “I try to be.”
The kiss was soft and probing, and when I opened for him, it only became gentler. The hand that had been stroking my arm went to my hip and rubbed circles there. When he put the slightest pressure on it, I happily complied and rolled onto my back. Bent over me, Corey continued kissing me deeply while he reached up to cup my breast, swiping his thumb across the hardened peak and making electricity shoot straight to my core. He moved to kiss my neck and then my breasts. Laving my nipples, he used his fingers to stroke between my legs. He didn’t slide them inside me, though. He simply traced the lips, making me slick and ready for more.
“Do you want me inside you?” he asked in a hoarse whisper and I nodded.
“Yes. Please.”
He shifted so that he was positioned between my legs, and I closed my eyes as I felt the tip of his hardness at my opening.
“Sandra.”
It took a lot for me to open my eyes again, but I did. As soon as we made eye contact, he slid inside of me in one long stroke.
We both groaned as he fitted himself inside me, and as he pulled back, my instinct was to hold him in place. My legs wrapped around him, my heels digging into his buttocks. We rocked together at an excruciatingly slow pace until it became too much and he had to increase his tempo. As we raced toward the finish line, I grew slick with sweat and by the time I came, I was drenched.
Corey followed me over the edge, finishing off with three harshly punctuated thrusts. I felt him shudder out his release and then he was gone. He rolled out of bed and disposed of the condom before returning.
“You okay?” he asked, looking down at me.
“Yeah.” My voice was shaky. “But I think I need another shower.”
Corey chuckled and pulled me closer. “In a minute. I’ll join you.”
As I drifted off to sleep, I had the vague thought that I shouldn’t feel this comfortable in bed with another man.
“How was your night?” Cameron asked as I entered the kitchen.
My face heated and I busied myself with leafing through the stack of junk mail perpetually sitting on our kitchen counter. “Eventful. Yours?”
“Oh, it was fine,” he said dismissively and kissed me. “Did you have fun?”
I thought back to Tom and hid a shudder. Then I thought about Corey. “Yes.”
“Good. I made waffles,” Cameron said and gestured to the table, which had already been set. “Dig in.”
“You’re the best,” I said, smiling as I sat down.
I was just about to dig in when my phone buzzed. I picked it up to see who’d messaged me, but it was a number I didn’t have stored on my phone.
Tom’s out. Hope to see you next month. -C
“Someone texting you this early on a Sunday?” Cameron asked, setting down a plate.
“Mel,” I blurted. “Just checking in.”
“Cool. Tell her hi.”
“Will do.” I pretended to send a reply and tucked my phone away. I had no idea why I’d just lied to my husband.
