Captives and Captors Page 13

I hope you enjoyed the interlinking stories, too. This was my first time actually blending three stories to create one. You have Frank's interrogations, Wayne and Nathan's investigation, and Robin's search. I thought this allowed for more variety in the action, thrills, and mystery. I also felt the pacing would be better. I feel like I sacrificed some character development for this style, but I think it works out for what it is. Of course, feel free to disagree. It's your right to have an opinion and I fully respect it. I'm not going to interrogate you like Bruce if you disagree. Trust me. *wink, wink*

I've discussed the ending with a few readers before the 'official release' and it's not something that everyone loved. If you've read my books, you can see I'm not really into the 'happily ever after' ending. When it comes to the grand finale, I like to hit hard. It might be disturbing, it might be shocking, but I think this type of 'dark' ending leaves a stronger impression. I guess this goes back to my love for Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Korean films overall. (Seriously, if you're not watching Korean movies, go check them out. I can't recommend them enough.)

Anyway, if you enjoyed this book, please leave an honest review on Amazon.com. Your review is incredibly significant. In fact, my career depends on your review. Your review will help me improve on future books and it will help other readers find this book. The more readers I garner, the more I can write. So, if you liked this book, a review will help me release more. It will also allow me to gauge interest for certain genres and themes. Are you a fan of dark thrillers? Did this book go 'too far' with its violent content? Was the ending too dark? Or, would you prefer something darker? Your review has the power to influence my writing – please use it wisely.

Also, feel free to share this book with your friends and family. Tweet it to your followers on Twitter, share it with your friends and family on Facebook, lend it to them, or even read it to them over the phone or video chat. Birthday, holiday, or special event coming up? Buy them a copy as a gift. Word-of-mouth is a superb method in supporting independent authors – and it's mostly free. I drink tap water and eat cheap noodles for dinner. I walk in place and pretend I'm on a treadmill for my daily exercise. (I could probably just go for a normal walk, but then people would see me.) I watch my neighbor's television through his window. Isn't it about time I moved up in life? Probably not, but your support really helps me.

Finally, if you enjoy scary stories, feel free to visit my Amazon's Author page. I've published over a dozen horror anthologies and several novels. Like dark serial killer books? Check out my disturbing novel, A Family of Violence. I did not limit myself for that horror novel – not at all. Are you interested in a completely different genre? You should read my sci-fi/fantasy adventure book, Sakuya's Wrath. It's inspired by the classic film/manga, Akira. Furthermore, many of my books are available on Kindle Unlimited! I publish books frequently, so please keep your eyes peeled for the next release. I'm currently working on another sci-fi book and another serial killer novel. Once again, thank you for reading. Your readership keeps me going through the darkest times!

Until our next venture into the dark and disturbing,

  Jon Athan
