Some Kind of Wonderful Page 9

“Actually, the guy gave me his card and wants to get together to arrange something. A potential job opportunity that could pay well. I need to look into it more. I was going to talk to John and Keith to see if they know the guy, too. But Collin, their friend, pretty much vouched for the guy.”

“You should be careful, C.C. What exactly was he offering in regards to a job? Work like you did last night?” Birdie asked her. Elsie was listening, too. She had questions and concerns.

C.C. wiped the corner of her mouth. “Well to start, there are these gigs, private ones where I would bartend at upscale events, and maybe even learn the ropes and become a manager or something of other staff. It’s all just talk right now because obviously I just met Morgan and his cousin last night, so we’ll see. I don’t want to quit working at Harper’s. I could fill in with this job if it works out, and I won’t need to waitress or sub in at the diner in Central Valley like I’ll be doing tomorrow.”

“You’re working tomorrow, too? I thought you were going to have a day off,” Elsie asked.

C.C. stared at her. “I’m trying to grab what I can when I can, and it’s good money, Elsie.”

“You work too hard and too much. You’ve been doing this pace for a long time. You didn’t even mention this guy you met, or even them,” Elsie said and waved her hand at Freddie and Birdie.

“Elsie,” C.C. said to her and held her gaze.

“What? You didn’t, and after everything, how could you even consider—”

“Elsie.” C.C. raised her voice, and Elsie looked away and exhaled.

“Elsie, look at me,” C.C. said to her and Elsie looked back at C.C.

“A lot has happened in the past week. I’m trying to process things, to figure things out, and I have a lot of responsibilities. I didn’t mention Freddie, Birdie, or Axel and Conan to you, because it’s new. We’re friends.” C.C. glanced at the men and gave them soft smiles, but the men looked like they were more than friends. They couldn’t take their eyes off of C.C. They liked her.

It was quiet from there on out and the men made nice conversation, but they were tough men, hardened from their careers most likely. Elsie worried about C.C., but it seemed like C.C. liked them, too. She blushed when they said things to her, or just stared at her. They were both very nice to Aiden, and by the time dessert came, and everyone in the place sang “Happy Birthday” to C.C. Elsie knew that C.C. liked the men and it wasn’t fair that she was holding back because of Elsie and Aiden.

As everyone in the place clapped and cheered, and C.C. was red as a cherry, C.C.’s eyed widened, and Elsie followed her line of sight. Two very huge, good-looking older men entered the place. One with his arm in a sling, and the other guy held flowers in his hand and smiled as he stared at C.C. C.C. stood up and greeted the men. The guy with the flowers wished her a happy birthday and kissed her, held her in his arms, and caressed her lower back. When he released her, the other guy with his arm in a sling kissed her, too, caressed her back, and ran his palm along her ass quickly as he released her.

“I can’t believe you’re here. Oh God, meet my cousin, Elsie. Elsie, this is Conan, and that’s Axel,” C.C. said, and then she introduced them to Aiden who stared wide-eyed at the men. The waitress pulled two more chairs over, and they gathered around C.C.

“We’re glad we made it over. We were caught up with some things at the house when Freddie texted us. Happy birthday, sweetie,” Conan said to her, and gazed at her breasts and then her face.

“You really didn’t have to do this, or rush over if you were busy. It isn’t a big deal,” C.C. said to her.

“It is a big deal. Birthdays are important,” Aiden said and they chuckled. C.C. rubbed his hair.

C.C. hadn’t wanted to say good-bye to the men, and apparently they didn’t want to miss another opportunity to spend time with her.

“Are you sure you can’t hang out for a bit?” Conan asked her. They stood by the car, and Elsie got into the passenger seat as C.C. buckled Aiden into the car seat. He hugged her neck and kissed her then leaned back and looked at Conan.

“You can come over and see my trucks and play,” Aiden said to Conan, and C.C. was shocked but even more so at Conan, who looked like he didn’t know how to handle a toddler or the idea of playing with one.

  C.C. caressed Aiden’s cheek.

“I think Conan and the guys have some work to do at home. Maybe another time,” C.C. said.

“I think we both need naps, Aiden. Maybe C.C. can drop us off at home and she can hang out with her friends for a little while?” Elsie said, and that surprised C.C. She thought for sure that her cousin was upset with her. Or the fact she didn’t tell her anything about the guys.

“That’s a great idea. We’ll follow you to your place, and then you can come with us,” Conan said.

“I should help with them though. Maybe come by in like twenty minutes?” C.C. asked.

“They can follow us. We got it, C.C., really,” Elsie said, and C.C. stood by the car door, closed it, and looked at Conan. He took her hand and placed his other hand on her hip as he brought her hand to his lips.

He kissed her knuckles. “We’ll follow and then wait for however long you’ll need,” he said, and she nodded her head and then got into the driver’s side and headed to the house.

“You like all four of them?” Elsie asked her, then glanced toward the back seat, but Aiden was holding Teddy and falling asleep already.

  “They’re nice, and we’re friends.”

“Honey, they want to be more than friends, you do realize that?” Elsie asked.

C.C. sighed. “I have a lot on my plate.”

“You deserve to have some fun and to be happy. They make you smile, besides blush.”

“Elsie, I don’t want to be a fling, or something for now. They’re so much older than I am, and a lot more experienced. It’s intimidating.”

“In years maybe, but not in experience. Have you told them about Bennet, or Dylan?” Elsie asked.

C.C. swung her head to look at Elsie and then back at the road. “God, no. No, no way. Jesus, no. Do you think I’ll have to?”

“I think it’s inevitable. It might also let them know how badly you were hurt, and also what you have sacrificed to get here in saving us. It’s maybe why they intimidate you, although their sizes, professions in the military, and their ages are definitely part of that intimidation factor, too. They seem to be everything you fear, yet are attracted to.”

“I feel different when I’m with them. My gut says that they aren’t like Bennet or his friends. I can’t tell them about what happened. I don’t need them to feel sorry for me, or to look to prove something to them or anyone. I’m fine just living this life, working, paying off the debt.”

“You didn’t even have to pay Cobus the money. He said not to.”

“I feel better owing no one a thing. It leaves a clean slate, and also ends ties to that life, to what happened.” She pulled the car into the driveway, and the two big trucks pulled in front of the small cottage.

“Cobus was truly embarrassed by what his son did, and he was affected by what happened to us, to you in particular. If it weren’t for Cobus and his money I might have wound up paralyzed. Those doctors were the best money could buy.”

“And that debt is nearly done. I don’t want the reminders.” She turned off the ignition and got out of the car. As she went to pull Aiden out, she heard Freddie offer Elsie assistance in getting out of the vehicle.

Aiden was sound asleep, perspiring, and she lifted him up and placed him against her shoulder. Birdie grabbed the teddy bear. “Thanks,” C.C said and then headed toward the door. She unlocked it and they headed inside. “Let me just lay him down for a nap,” she said to Axel and Conan. She heard Elsie offer them something to drink, but they declined. She set Aiden down on the couch because she knew that he would nap for only an hour here. If they put him into bed he would sleep longer and then be up at night later. C.C. had him on a schedule so it was

easier for Elsie to handle by herself when C.C. was working. “Teddy,” she said to Birdie who held the bear. He handed it to her, and she tucked it next to Aiden then kissed his forehead. She stood up and smiled at him.

“He’s a cute kid,” Birdie told her and she nodded.

She walked back toward the kitchen to where Elsie stood. She looked tired.

“Are you sure that you’ll be okay?” C.C. asked.

“Yes, go on, I’ll sit in here with him. No need to hurry back,” Elsie said and C.C. nodded.

“I’ll be back to cook dinner. Plus I wanted to make the extra for this week anyway.”

“C.C., you made so much food already. We’ll be fine. Don’t worry.”

C.C. walked toward the door, as Conan placed his hand at her back.

“I won’t be out long,” she said, and Elsie smiled. “Take your time.”

As they got outside she felt a tightness in her belly, a feeling of guilt basically. When Conan led her around the truck in the street, to the driver’s side, she hadn’t expected him to pull her into his arms and kiss her, but it felt right. Like he had been as desperate as she felt to be held in their arms, kissed by them, touched by them. Those guilty uncertain feelings disappeared, and all she could focus on was Conan’s kisses, and the feel of his large palm sliding over her ass and squeezing her tighter to him. He plunged his tongue in exploration and then cupped her breast. She leaned against the truck and moaned into his mouth. When he lifted her thigh against his hip she knew she needed to slow him down. She pulled from his lips and his mouth was against her neck, suckling, exploring into the opening of her dress. “Conan, oh God, please slow down.” She gripped onto him, and he growled low. His hot breath collided with her cleavage and she shivered. When he pulled up, she was trying to catch her breath, and so was he.

“I missed you. If we knew it was your birthday we would have planned something extra special, not just flowers.”

She shook her head, cupped his cheek, and he turned to kiss her palm. “Spending lunch with you guys and my family was perfect and a nice surprise.”

“Your cousin seemed very surprised about us. Care to explain why you didn’t mention us to her?” Freddie asked, and he seemed upset.

“We’ve been through some hard times. She’s still recovering from the accident she had.”

  “Car accident?” Birdie asked her.

She shook her head. “I don’t want to lie to you guys.”

“Then don’t,” Axel said and stepped forward. He clutched her chin between his thumb and finger, tilted her face up toward him. “Just be honest so we get what’s going on. We want to know everything about you.”

“You say that now,” she replied.

He moved closer, and Conan squeezed her tighter. “We want to know the truth. No lies, no leaving everything out. In order for this to work, we all need to take chances.” He pressed his mouth to hers and kissed her, teased her by sticking his tongue into her mouth before pulling back. She wanted more.

“Let’s go someplace we can talk,” he said, pulling back.

“I don’t have a lot of time,” she said as Birdie opened the door and Conan placed her into the seat for her to slide over and be between him and Axel who got in on the passenger side.

“Your cousin said take your time. No running now, C.C.,” Conan said, and then Axel slid his hand to her knee as Conan got up into the truck. They headed away from her cottage.

Axel pulled her onto his lap as if she weighed nothing at all. She gasped, and he slid his palm under the hem of her dress and stroked her thigh. “I like this dress. You look beautiful for your birthday,” he told her.

  “Thank you.”

“How old are you, baby?” Conan asked.

  “Twenty three.”

“Jesus,” Conan said and gripped the steering wheel.

Axel slid his palm higher between her legs. “You seem older, more mature by the way you present yourself, and how you talk. Yet you’re twenty-three, barely legal, and have a body made for sin,” he said, holding her gaze with his dark blue eyes. He slid his palm further up her dress, up along her outer thigh and ass, lifting her higher so she could kiss him.

She did just that. Couldn’t help it. Axel was intimidating and sexy at the same time. As she kissed his firm lips, he stroked her ass, along her thong panties and then right to her cunt. When she went to pull from his lips he scolded her.

“No. Keep kissing me while I explore this sexy, wet cunt of yours. You want us like we want you. You feel it. I need more.” He lowered his mouth to hers. She lifted higher, slid her arms around his big, wide shoulders until she was pressed tight against him. When the truck stopped, Conan joined in. He pressed her dress higher, slid his palm along her hip to her ass. Axel pulled his fingers from her cunt, and Conan pulled her into his arms and kissed her. In a flash he had her out of the truck, and she was cradled in his arms. They were at their home, and Birdie and Freddie were by the door with it opened.

“Conan, put me down. We have to slow down.”

“Not yet. We need to taste you, to do some exploring. We’re desperate,” he said. He lowered her to the rug, to where one of them had put down a thick blanket, and Conan hovered over her.

It was so arousing, incredibly wild how good he looked, hovering there, one thigh between her legs, the other on the side of her. That military haircut, brown hair, serious deep blue eyes, and the scruff along his cheeks. She could see the muscles in his forearm, and as he held her gaze with full attention she couldn’t help but to reach out to the god above her and touch him. Want more of him. She reached up to cup his cheek, seeing and feeling the whiskers there. He pushed her dress to her waist, lowered down between her legs, pressed lips to her bare belly, and began to pull off her panties.

“Oh God, Conan,” she said on an exhale. She was already there, ready to come, and the man didn’t finger her or taste her needy pussy. She was going to do something insane, she just knew it.

Axel was there, looking a bit uncomfortable with the sling on, but then he was undoing it and tossing it. “Axel.” She reached up to him, concerned over his wellbeing. What gave her the right? The nerve to show she cared in that way? She was confused, feeling insane.

“I can’t. I need to taste you, to see my woman,” he said, and then Conan slid fingers to her cunt. He spread her thighs, and she moaned as Axel cupped her cheeks, lowered down, and kissed her. Birdie and Freddie were on the floor, too, she felt them, sensed them, then they were pushing up her dress, caressing her belly. Four men at once. Four seasoned, sexy, intimidating men were touching her at the same time. It was all too much. Feeling all four men with their hands on her body, seducing her together as a team. The thought of the word team brought on a surge of desire as her pussy spasmed.

She moaned into Axel’s mouth. Then he released her lips, and together they pushed her dress up higher.

“We want to see all of you,” Birdie told her.

“But I’m not ready for sex. I can’t,” she said, and Freddie leaned down and kissed her belly.

“When you’re ready,” he said, and then Conan pulled fingers from her cunt. They lifted her up, kissed her skin, her lips as they got her dress off of her, and then unclipped her bra. Her large, full breasts fell from the confinement of the material and the men made comments, and it did something to her. They were impressed with her body. Thank God.

“Holy shit, baby, goddamn,” Freddie said and cupped a breast. She lowered back down as Axel caressed her hair and brought her one arm above her head. He leaned on his other arm and stared at her body. She was completely open to all four men.
