  “As do you,” I say.

  She shrugs. “Perhaps.”

“I’m not doing it for him.”

  “Then why are you here?”

Because my instinct is telling me that you’re my mate. Because the moment you walk out the room, I lose my mind. Because for the first time in my life, I feel like I have a purpose, like I’m making a difference. Like my life matters.

“Because you need protection,” I say.

She looks around the room. “From who? What are you protecting me from?”

“You might recall a certain captain who wants to slingshot his ship right into a magnetic storm.”

“And you’re going to save me from that while you watch me shower, is that it?”

Blood rushes to my cock at the mere thought.

  “Exactly,” I growl.

“No. No no no,” she says, shaking her head. “You need to learn boundaries.”

“I’ll close my eyes,” I say before lying down on her couch. “I’ll wait here for you.”

“And you promise you won’t peek?”

  “I promise.”

I normally don’t make promises I can’t keep… but for once, I tell a white lie. I close my eyes and wait.

I hear Sarah sigh deeply before she door to the bathroom opens and closes. A few moment later I hear the shower running.

Knowing that she’s only a few feet away, completely naked, is the sweetest form of torture imaginable. I want nothing more than to burst into that room, but I resist my primal urges.

I wait patiently. Every second feels like an eternity, but I persevere.

And then, after fifteen minutes, everything goes to hell in an instant. The lights flicker before shutting down completely.

Sarah’s scream causes me to jump up and rush towards her.

The ship starts to rumble — a gentle rumble at first, but within seconds it devolves into violent tremors.

Within two steps I’m at the bathroom door, but then everything is turned upside down.

The artificial gravity drive malfunctions, and I’m thrown back against the wall and pelted with books, pens, and other items that are flying through Sarah’s room.

That asshole actually did it. Flew the Spearhead right into an ion storm! Now we’re lucky if the life support systems keep running, or we don’t fly headfirst into an asteroid.

If that happens, so be it. Nothing I can do about that.

But I can protect Sarah from all the furniture flying through the room at high speed.

The ship tilts upwards, so that the bathroom door is now directly above me. It flies open, and Sarah tumbles down towards me, as naked as can be.

“Kazim!” she screams, her eyes wide with fear.

I jump up with all my strength and catch her in my arms. We fall back, and I break her fall, shielding her body with mine. I instantly roll over and pin her body down underneath of me.

“I got you,” I growl into her neck. “I got you.”

We are thrown around the room violently. Her bed, her couch, her closet — it all smashes against us. I have all my limbs wrapped tightly around her naked frame, all of my muscles tensed up, protecting her with all of my might.

After ten minutes from hell, the shaking and rumbling stops. We’re buried underneath a pile of rubble, but we’re safe.

Sarah is lying underneath me, her legs wrapped around my waist, her arms around my neck. I can feel her heart racing and her hot breath against my naked skin, her intoxicating scent filling my nostrils, and I feel myself grow harder.

My cock is pressing against her softness, a thin piece of cloth the only thing separating my naked body from hers.

I have resisted her as much as I could. I have tried to prove I’m not some wild animal, but a man she can rely on.

  But I have my limits.

And having her naked body draped over mine is pushing me dangerously close against them.

“Are you okay?” I growl, my forehead resting against hers.

Her blue eyes, the color of the sky, open, a smile forming on her lips.

  “You saved me,” she whispers.

“I told you I’d protect you.”

  Sarah

I didn’t expect Kazim to be vindicated so quickly. One moment I was showering in peace, letting the stress wash away, and the next moment I was suddenly flying through my bathroom, naked, bumping into the walls, the ceiling, the floor, disorientated, scared.

  Also very, very naked.

And then Kazim came through. He saved me, breaking my fall, shielding my body with his, and taking the brunt of the blows. Without him, I could very well have been seriously hurt.

My hands are resting on the back of his neck, slowly stroking his blue skin as I gaze into his radiant, violet eyes. His body is pressing down on me, and I can feel every part of it, every trained muscle… every inch of his purple hardness.

Only his makeshift toga is separating his naked body from mine. A small piece of cloth, razor thin. That’s it.

I could have died, just now.

I could have died a virgin. Never knowing the pleasures of love, of intimacy, of commitment. Of sex.

Kazim can give me one of those things for sure.

I lean in and kiss him, placing my lips on his. I can tell he’s surprised, but after a second he gives in. He kisses me back with a low growl, and his touch makes my body burn brightly. I’ve never felt a sensation this strong, this overwhelming. It sets off fireworks inside of me, my body yearning for his touch. His tongue brushes against my bottom lip, and I hear myself moaning softly, writhing with pleasure underneath his broad frame.

My fingers dig into his powerful back as he kisses me, his tongue exploring my mouth. I surrender myself to him completely, letting myself explore pleasure like this for the first time in my life.

One of his hands moves to the back of my neck, his fingers gripping my hair as he kisses me. I can feel his hardness throb and pulse against my stomach, and it makes a shiver run down my spine.

And heat pool in my lap.

His other hand moves to my breast, his fingers sinking into my soft skin as he gropes me. It hurts a bit, but in the best way imaginable. I’m burning up, and there’s only one thing on my mind.

All I need to do is pull his toga to the side. That is all that is separating his naked body from mine. The only thing between his hard, throbbing Zoran cock, and my wet pussy. I can wrap my legs around his waist and let this growly warrior, this blue champion make me his.

This is all going so fast.

My common sense wins out, but only barely. My body is burning, yearning, screaming for his touch. To feel his tongue, his hands, his cock.

I want it so much it scares me.

“S-stop,” I say between kisses, placing my hands on his chest.

I never knew attraction could be so strong, so powerful, so completely overwhelming. If Kazim didn’t listen, if he’d just push my knees up to my chest and just took me right here on the floor… I wouldn’t even fight it.

  But he does stop.

“Hm?” he growls, his eyes searching mine. “What’s the matter?”

I take a few deep breaths, my chest heaving up and down. Holy crap. Was I really just seconds away from letting this Zoran warrior take my virginity?

“We need to, uhm, check on the c-crew,” I stammer as I scramble to sit upright.

Kazim sits up straight, raising one eyebrow. I cross my arms over my chest, hiding my naked breasts from his inquisitive eyes. I feel the heat rising to my cheeks, and I’m starting to feel more exposed with every passing second.

No man has ever seen me naked before, and here I am, in all my splendor, in front of Kazim, an alien warrior I only just met.

He stands up resolutely, and for a moment I fear I offended him, but then he returns with a bedsheet which he wraps around my naked frame.

  “Thank you,” I say.

He helps me to my feet, and I take a moment to survey the da
mages. My entire room is thrashed. My bed, my closet, my nightstand — it has all been smashed to bits, with Kazim’s back having taken the brunt of it.

“Are you… okay?” I ask him. “You saved my life.”

“I’m fine,” he says, stretching his arms above his head. “It takes more than some furniture to take me out.”

“Thank you,” I say again, placing my hand on his arm. “I mean it.”

“Told you you needed protection,” he smirks.

That’s not all I need from him… but now is not the time. Adrenaline is still pumping through my veins. I shouldn’t make any rushed decisions.

No matter how good of a kisser he is, or how good his hands feel on my body, or no matter how much I liked the feeling of his hardness pressing against me.

I excuse myself for a second to put on some fresh clothes in the bathroom. While I’m there, I take a second to look at my own body in the bathroom mirror.

I’d always thought men weren’t all that interested in me, but Kazim is for real. At first I thought he was mocking me when he looked at me like that, or when he grew hard in my presence, but now I know the lust in his eyes is the real deal.

The growly, alien warrior in the next room really wants my body. It’s exciting — and scary. If he wants, he can overpower me easily. And even if I’m willing, there’s the matter of his sheer size…

I take a deep breath and walk out to find him waiting for me right where I left him.

“Let’s see what condition the ship is in,” I say.

The Spearhead is an absolute mess. Every room seems to have something smashed or damaged. Luckily, no one was seriously injured. A few crew members have some broken bones and concussions, nothing more.

My lab, however, is completely destroyed. My computer has been smashed to bits by the turbulence and loss of gravity. Thousands of credits down the drain.

I run into Ava at the lab, and she falls into my arms.

“Oh my god, you’re okay,” she says. “I was so worried!”

“I’m fine,” I say. “Kazim saved me.”

  “He saved you?”

  “Yeah,” I answer. “I was, uhm… don’t laugh.”

“Promise,” she says, but from the twinkle in her eyes I already know it’s one she won’t keep.

“I was showering when it happened.”

  “WITH him?!” Ava gasps loudly.

Kazim, who is rummaging through the debris in the corner of the lab, looks up surprised, and a few of our other colleagues also turn their heads.

“No!” I say. “Come on, what do you take me for?!”

“Someone who listens to my advice,” she whispers.

I shake my head. Ava will never change.

“As I was saying, I was taking a shower… alone, mind you… when it happened. I was flung through my personal quarters stark naked.”

  “And Kazim saved you?”

“Yes,” I say, the heat rising to my cheeks when I think back to what almost happened. “He was waiting outside the bathroom for me, so he grabbed me and saved me from the furniture flying around. If it weren’t for him, I definitely would have been injured, or worse.”

“Wow! So having your own Zoran hounding you isn’t so bad after all, hm?”

“It has its benefits, I must admit,” I smile.

  “So… then what?”

  “What do you mean?”

“Oh come on,” Ava whispers as she rolls her eyes. “You expect me to believe that’s the end of your story? Kazim saved your life, holding your naked body in his strong, capable hands, and then you just… got up as if nothing happened?”

  My cheeks burn red.

“Yes,” I say. “Nothing else happened.”

I can almost feel my nose growing with every lie I tell.

“Bullshit,” Ava says. “You have a spring in your step, and Kazim can’t keep his eyes off of you. Something is up.”

  “You’re seeing things.”

“You know you can tell me everything, Sarah. I won’t judge you.”

I need to get this off my chest, for it feels like it is about to explode. I am fully aware Ava will not let me live this down, but there’s no one else on board for me to share this with.

“Okay, so, maybe, I gave him, a kiss. Perhaps.”

“You WHAT?!” she explodes in a fit of glee.

“Keep your voice down,” I whisper.

More heads turn, their judgy eyes looking at me. I bet there’s some stories about me making the rounds at the water cooler, but I don’t care.

  “Tell. Me. Everything!” Ava says.

“Later,” I say. “Now is not the time.”

“No,” she says, grabbing my arm. “You can’t tease me like that! What was it like?”

“Amazing,” I say. “Now, I’m going to give Ferguson an earful first.”

“Dinner, tonight, you and me, and you tell me everything!”

I look at Kazim over Ava’s shoulder. My Zoran warrior is looking at me with that characteristic furrowed brow of his.

I don’t think he’ll let me out of his sight long enough to spill the details to Ava.

“I’ll do my best,” I say. “Promise.”

  Kazim

Sarah is silent as we ride the elevator up to the bridge. She keeps sneaking sideways glances towards me and smiling broadly, even though she tries to hide it.

For a second, she was mine.

I held her underneath of me, my body crushing hers, our eyes locked together… and she surrendered herself to me. In fact, she was the one to kiss me, which came as a surprise after the way she has rebuffed all of my advances.

My surprise lasted only a micro-second before my instincts took over. My tongue invaded her mouth, my hand finding her neck, her breast, her soft, warm, naked skin, and my cock throbbed with arousal, with unadulterated lust.

I’ve never felt anything like it. For a brief moment, our bodies moved as one, completely in sync, as if we were the center of our own private universe. I was drowning in her scent, her intoxicating arousal filling my nostrils.

My heart burned, my soul itself being filled with joy, with warmth, with, dare I say, love? A human word I’ve never used before, but there’s no other way to describe the feeling that gripped my chest.

And then, as quickly as it started, it ended.

  Sarah asked me to stop.

Every fiber of my being resisted. My inner warrior wanted to fold her in half, to spread her legs, to taste her wetness, to pound her pussy senseless with every inch of my hard, throbbing cock.

But, I tamed my warrior, mustering every last bit of my willpower. She thinks me a wild animal, a beast. If I ravaged her right there, I would have proven her right.

I want more than her body.

  I want her soul.

So, I resisted the urge to mate with her, and followed her request. I could see she was surprised — disappointed, even. For the first time in my life, I feel like I have a reason to be a better version of myself. That I have a standard to live up to.

My life has never been like this. Growing up alone on Earth, a planet that is both alien to me and the only home I’ve ever known, living in the slums like an outcast… I had to embrace my inner beast just to survive.

My two fists were the only way out I had.

I’ve gotten into more fights than I can remember, and my body bears the scars to prove it. I figured this was my fate. I’d already embraced the fact that my life was going to end sooner rather than later.

And when I knocked that human, Michael Cormack, out in the ring, I knew I signed my own death sentence. Callum McGregor wanted me to go down in the second round, and he’s not a man to cross if you want to live. Not in Neo-Boston.

  I welcomed it.

I was tired of running, tired of fighting, tired of going from one fight to the next, barely scraping together a living. No family, no friends. I had nothing.

And then I met Sarah, and it was as if I was struck b
y lightning. In a second, everything changed. I barely realized it at first, but every hour that passes, I feel more and more like a different man.

The only thing that worries is how she’ll react to my past. Sarah has a pure heart. I don’t think she’s ever hurt a fly. I can tell from her whole demeanor: There’s not a violent bone in her well-formed body.

If she knows what crimes I’ve committed, every preconceived notion she has about me will be confirmed. She’ll think I’m a beast, and she’ll want nothing to do with me.

No matter what happens, I have to keep it a secret.

The only problem? Captain Ferguson knows exactly who I am and what I’ve done.

The elevator door opens with a ping, and the bridge is in as much disarray as the rest of the ship. A few screens are cracked, and the rest are flickering and malfunctioning.

Ferguson, meanwhile, is running circles across the bridge, cackling like a maniac. His hair is a mess, as if he’d just received an electric shock.

“I did it!” he screams. “I did it! I did it!”

  “Did what?” Sarah says.

Ferguson stops dead in his tracks. His eyes turn to me, his elated smile turning into a scowl.

“You!” he says, pointing at me. “You doubted me! And look, look now! I did it!”

I’m ready to tear the captain a new one, but Sarah stops me. She places her hand on my chest, and gives me a quick look as if to say I’ve got this.

“Excuse me for stating the obvious, but it seems to me that you just flew the damn ship into a magnetic storm?” Sarah says. “I’m lucky to even be alive!”

“Well, you are alive, aren’t you?” Ferguson says. “No harm, no foul.”

“Uhm, I don’t think it’s that simple. You risked the lives of every single crew member. If that isn’t a reason to be deposed, I don’t know what is.”

“You don’t have that authority!” Ferguson says.

“As a matter of fact, as chief scientist, I’m the only one with that authority, Donovan,” Sarah says sternly.

  “Are you threatening me?!”

Ferguson reaches for a blaster at his side, and I jump forward, shielding Sarah’s body with my own.

“You grab that gun and I’m going to force it down your throat,” I growl menacingly.

“Zorans,” Ferguson sneers with an eye-roll. “Always have to play the hero, huh?”
