Interruption War Year 3: An Academy Reversed Harem Paranormal Bully Romance (Fallen Fae Academy Book 4) Page 9

by Rachel Angel

“The Dark Fae Wizard,” she said. “His underlings will be going to Fallen Fae Academy. They will be recruiting innocent light faes and bringing them all to the dark side.”

Zed looked down at her, “The bastard.”

“Guys,” Harley said as she sat up. “I have to do something before this gets way out of hand. I have to go back to the Academy.”

Suddenly feeling the urgency of the situation, Harley hopped over Zed and got off the bed. “I have to go.”

“Now?” Red said as he stood up and came to her. “It’s probably not a good idea for you to go there alone.”

“And we’re caught up in this war,” Zed said. “We can’t abandon these battles.”

  “I know that,” Harley said.

“We also have to keep an eye on our father,” Red added with a tone of deep sadness.

“Yeah,” Zed said. “I never thought I’d see the day when I would have to look out for my own father.”

“I hate to say it, but I think he’s become a lot more devious than any of us could have imagined.”

“I know you can’t come with me. But, don’t worry. I know how to take care of myself.”

“Harley, you’ll be facing the glamouring of the Dark Fae. That’s not to be taken lightly. It can be very tricky. Virtually anyone and everyone you meet could be playing a trick on you.”

“I’ll be most vigilant. Don’t worry.” Harley turned to look at them as she reached the door. “My brother. What will become of him?”

“We’re doing everything to ensure his safety,” Zed said.

“We know how much he means to you, Harley. Nothing will happen to him so long as we’re here looking out for him.”

Nodding her understanding, she forced a sad smile. “Thank you.”

  Epilogue

She didn’t know what to expect as she made her way back to the human realm. Had her glamouring remained as she’d originally created it? Had it crumbled down to nothing?

Was it already overrun with dark fae?

The walk through the forest seemed to take forever. The faster she walked, the longer it seemed to take. As she looked towards the horizon, she noted the sun was already far lower than she had thought.

It would soon be dark and she felt like she was walking in circles.

She finally reached a narrow ridge, crossed it and suddenly she was on the campus of the Fallen Fae Academy. Sighing her relief, she looked at the students as they headed back to their dorms, or to the library, or even the science lab.

  All seemed normal. Peaceful.

They all seemed happy and eager to get on with the business of learning.

But then she remembered. She couldn’t take that for granted. She couldn’t assume anyone was what they seemed.

April. She had to find April and recruit her in trying to find the Dark Fae.

On her guard, she made her way to the dorm she’d once lived in before moving in with Kingsley. She walked to the door of the dorm room she’d shared with April.

She knocked on the door. “April. It’s me, Harley,” she shouted through the door. “Open the door. I need to see you. It’s urgent.”

Through the door she heard a commotion. Did April have a visitor?

“April?” Harley turned the doorknob, but it was locked. “April. Please.”

The door swung open and April stood there in old sweats and her hair in a messy ponytail.

“Harley,” she said with a surprised smile. “What are you doing here? I thought you’d gone back to the Faery Realm.”

“I did.” Harley made a move to enter the room, but noticed that April didn’t move back to allow her in. “I had to come back.” She looked over April’s shoulder into the room.

“What’s going on?” April said with a bright smile.

“April, I need your help. Everything is going wrong. I need to find the Dark Fae Wizard.”

April frowned. “That’s pretty ambitious, don’t you think?”

Frustrated with April’s refusal to invite her in, she looked pointedly at her friend. “Do you have someone in here with you?”

Smiling, April batted her eyes. “As a matter of fact, I do.”

“I’m so sorry to barge in at a time like this – really I don’t mean to intrude – but I don’t know who else to turn to. I really do need you.”

April hesitated, but finally opened the door to let Harley in.

“Thanks,” Harley said as she walked in and went to the kitchen counter. “I don’t know what to do.”

April came up behind her. “I do hate to see my best friend so distraught. What can I do?”

Harley turned to her, a little surprised to see her standing to close. Her heart thundered in her chest… there was something not quite right.

“What has you so worried?” April said as she brought her hand up to Harley’s cheek.

With a sharp gasp, Harley stepped back. April’s hand was cold… icy cold.

No, Harley thought as she closed her eyes for a disgusted moment.

But when she opened her eyes to look at her friend, she gasped as she came face to face with a small dark figure with big red eyes and sharp jagged teeth.

“Would you like some tea?” the ugly figure said with a terrifying grin.

  “April?”

The terrifying grin broadened to a nightmarish smile. “Surprise.”

  “But… Oh, no… April. You can’t be. You can’t.”

“Ah,” April said in a gravelly ugly voice. “Are you saddened by this discovery, Harley? I guess you thought we were pretty good friends, right? Too bad. I really did enjoy spending time with you.” She reached out a curled up black claw to touch Harley’s cheek.

Shaking her head, Harley just looked at her with the most incredible sense of sadness. Of all the people she’d known, April had been there right from the start, in her corner, understanding her and being her best friend.

Tears filled her eyes as the realization hit her.

“Is the little girl going to cry?” April said with mock sadness. “Don’t cry, Harley. We can still be friends.”

The door to the bathroom opened and a tall, handsome man stepped out. In a casual suit, he seemed refined and intelligent, elegant and distinguished. There was almost an air of nobility around him as he came up behind April and put his hand on her shoulder.

“I see you’ve met my daughter,” the man said to April.

Harley backed up into the counter and stumbled onto a stool to sit down.

“Nice to see you again, Harley,” the handsome man said.

  Harley just stared at him.

“Did you not expect to see Stephen here,” April said. She broke out into a horrendous laugh.

Tear filled Harley’s eyes as she just continued to stare.

It was difficult to imagine that the handsome and smart looking man in front of her, the man her mother had fallen in love with, was the Dark Fae Wizard.

“But… the Academy,” Harley finally managed to mutter. “Why? Why are you? You were just at… Fall. I saw you, but…” Confused, she turned away as her stomach churned.

Stephen tossed back his head and laughed. His laugh went on and on, becoming uglier and more demonic with every moment.

“You are so sweet and innocent, little girl,” Stephen said. “It’s charming, but dangerous, for you that is. But the thing is that the human in me gets tangled up with the fae side of me.”

“The dark fae,” Harley corrected as she glanced his way.

“Indeed, well it is useful in trying to find all the changelings and fallen faes around here.” He pulled April in closer to him. “By the way, I do want to thank you for making my adopted daughter feel so welcomed here. It’s is such an immense facility, I feared she’d get lost and be all alone. I really do appreciate you helping her fit in.”

Harley felt like she’d been slapped in the face. “Her?” she said with a shaky voice. “Your adoptive daughter?”

  “Indeed,” Stephen sa
id. “Yes, she’s been my adoptive daughter for quite some time now. And, you may as well know, she’s the one responsible for letting them in.”

  “Them?” Harley said. “Who?”

  “Girls!” Stephen called out.

Cici and Ashley emerged from the tiny bathroom and quickly resumed their dark fae appearance. Giggling and cackling, they went to Stephen’s side.

“Aren’t they the perfect weapon against those silly princes?” Stephen said. “They were able to seduce and control them. Kingsley, Oak and those twins.”

“Yes,” Harley said softly. “I remember.”

“Well, that is until you came along,” Stephen went on. “My dear daughter, you ruined everything. We had a nice little plan that was being executed perfectly and you came and tore it all down.”

Harley glared at him. What was he talking about?

“If only I’d known,” Stephen said. “Had I known that you had the ability to seduce them all so easily, well… it would have made everything so much easier to simply use you to my end.” He let out an evil laugh. The deafening sound filled the small room.

Harley put her hands over her ears and closed her eyes tight to the nightmare in front of her.

“Imagine,” Stephen cried out. “My own daughter seducing and then destroying those dastardly princes.”

Cruel Princes of Wyvern All-Boys Academy

When I received a royal decree from Queen Jade of the Emerald Realms to attend school at Wyvern School for Boys, I thought it was a prank pulled by my friend William who apprentices with me at the Blacksmith. There was no way I could attend such an elite school just for kings-to-be.

But it was a Royal Decree, and if I don't obey the Decree, there was a threat of death to me and to all I hold dear, which probably means William and his parents, Bilbo and Kate, the blacksmith and his wife, the alchemist, whom had let me stayed with them since I became an orphan.

To keep them safe. To keep me from losing my head, I packed up what little belongings I had and enrolled at Wyvern School for Boys.

Everything at Wyvern School for Boys was meant to intimidate. Being the only girl at a school of incredibly handsome boys, especially the Four Princes, was intimidating.

Not to mention the cutthroat competition that literally cuts students from the school.

I'm stuck in a hard place...either get killed by defying the Royal Decree and also get everyone I cared for, killed. Or stick it out at Wyvern School for Boys, despite all the bullying and cutthroat games Wyvern has in store for me.

Of course, there is no choice...I must survive Wyvern School for Boys, or die trying.

Did I mention this is a school for Dragons, too? I just have to watch out for the fire.

***The Cruel Princes of Wyvern Series for mature teens and up (17+) and is a paranormal dark fantasy bully romance reverse harem that will contain steamy and scorching scenes, dark fantasy elements, and consensual sex. This is a high school NA series.

  The Shadowlight Academy Series

  About the Series

Unlike many high school heroines in fantasy books, I always knew I was not ordinary. Far from it. Since I was two, I have been seeing angels and demons. Given the gift of battle as a warrior, my role as a slayer often interferes with my role as a normal girl. So no, I was never a typical girl who had just found out she was heir to some magical family or something like that. I've been "gifted" practically all my life. So when my ordinary family moved us to San Francisco to a new school where my father teaches, I didn't think much of the school. Shadowlight Academy, the most exclusive and posh prep academy for the super rich. I thought I would be there to slay the evil like an undercover superhero amongst the ordinary. I just didn't think the ordinary would all be extremely unordinary. Especially the three most popular kids in school. Then there's the hot brooding rebel boy who didn't seem to fit in, too. Everyone here has secrets, and I am determined to find out what, before it kills me...the entire Academy and even the world. Okay, I might be dramatizing a bit, but yes, from what I've barely seen...it could be that big. Better get my game gear on and my entire armor on, because this is going to be one epic battle. But who can I trust? The Beautiful Ones, which rule Shadowlight Academy is known to be both beautiful yet wicked. They're fascinated with me as I am of them. But who or what are they really, and why do I feel drawn to them like a fly to a spider? Can I escape their beautiful web before I am trapped forever? Do I want to?*The Beautiful Boys is the first in a high school paranormal academy series for mature teens and up. Expect a tough heroine who can take on anyone and anything, with lots of steam literally and figuratively, and a reverse harem romance.
