Temperance: Biker Romance (The Davis Chapter Book 2) Page 4

by Lynn, Davida

Kyle lifted me again, this time carrying me to the hood. I leaned back and pulled my shirt up in over my head. Without a care in the world, I tossed it into the dirt somewhere. With my hands around Kyle’s neck, he leaned forward, weighing me down. In the cool morning air, the warmth of the hood felt amazing on my back. There was a warmth of my own growing between my legs and Kyle was the cause. His lips were at my stomach, and his hands were at the waist of my jeans. There was this sizzling urgency between us that got me so fired up. I remembered all the times that Kyle and I had made love outdoors in the middle of some ride on his Harley. There was something about that motorcycle that just got me off. I could never wait until we got home. He always joked that we fucked more outside than we did in.

Kyle shoved my jeans and panties down my legs. My heart raced as he worked his way back up the burning heat between them. His tongue split me open; the first time someone had gone down on me in more than a year. The thought struck me that he had been the last one. Another fit of laughter came over me. I hope my hands over my face and turn my head side to side on the hood of Kyle’s car. Life has a funny way.

After a few seconds, Kyle started laughing. He raised his head, a wide, satisfied grin on his face. Something else glistened from his lips, too. “What’s so funny?” He dug his fingertips into my thighs. “Huh?”

I covered my face again, because every time I looked at him, I couldn’t get my thoughts together. After letting my head fall back on the hood, I said, “It’s like no time has passed at all.” I couldn’t fit anymore words out, but Kyle understood what I meant. It was like we had a long pause, and in one moment of passion the play button was hit, again.

For the first time in over a year, I was satisfied. Kyle worked me up to a powerful orgasm in the middle of the California wastes. There was a year of pain and split histories between us, but some things never change. The touch of your first lover never leaves your mind, and when you go back to them, the fires burn hotter and brighter than ever before.

While I was still panting from the amazing orgasm, I pulled myself to a sitting position and reached for his belt. I couldn’t even speak, so I just moaned. My eyes were locked on that thick, throbbing outline beneath his jeans. Kyle’s hands grabbed onto mine, and I looked up to his sparkling eyes.

“I don’t have protection on me.” His voice sounded understandably pained.

I smiled and wrestled my hands free from his. “Don’t worry, I’m taking protection. Please don’t deny me something I’ve been craving for the last year.”

Kyle grinned and raised his hands as if he was giving up. I sure hoped he wasn’t, because I wanted that animal that didn’t give up until it got exactly what it wanted. I wanted that beastly sex machine that I knew Kyle could be. He helped me undo the belt. As he slid the jeans down, I reached beneath his boxer briefs to wrap my fingers around my prize. The warmth of his member sent shivers down my body that centralized between my legs. I burned for him to be inside me. I needed it more than freedom.

He wrapped his legs around my thighs, sliding me to the edge of the hood. I gasped, my breaths coming quickly and sharp. I was dying for what Kyle was going to give me. The first orgasm had only left me hungry for more. I was yearning for the feeling of being full. Yearning for the feeling of being wanted after so long. Kyle moved closer, his manhood so near to me. When he pressed his cock against my skin, my back arched and I cried out.

It was as if the year with Conrad never existed. No, it was different than that. It was as if Kyle had spent an entire year teasing me. It was as if he had done everything he could to turn me on day after day, but he left me aching for more. An entire year went by without the feeling of being loved or desired. After a year, Kyle washed it all away with a single, solid thrust.

My hands found the edge of the hood, just in front of the windshield. I curled my fingers around it as he entered me. Every inch of my body tingled. Every bit of my being surged with pleasure. For the first time in I don’t know how long, I felt alive. I open my eyes and saw Kyle’s sexy abs working as he slid in and out of me. God, in that moment, I have never missed him so much in my entire life. I didn’t feel regret, but it wasn’t far off. The memories that we missed out on, the trips, the time spent in each other’s arms was all lost. One year wasted between us. I told myself I would never waste another second of my life.

Kyle growled, “There’s never been anyone like you, Celeste.”

“And no one even comes close to you, Kyle.” I let out a cry, and then, “Right now, there’s nobody else in the world but you and me.”

“Good, because there’s nowhere else I’d rather fuck you.” Kyle looked around, a wide grin on his face as he thrust deeper inside of me. The two of us always loved to be together in nature, and this was no exception. Miles from nowhere and miles from anyone, we had the world to ourselves.

I let my voice go, screaming at the top of my lungs.

Kyle let out a jovial grunt. “Fuck, look at those heavenly tits.”

I drank in his sexy, powerful words as I looked down my body and saw my breasts bouncing beneath my bra. “Well, you are in luck, sir.” Reaching forward, I undid the clasp between my breasts. “Because this bra unhooks in front.”

Kyle let out another groan. ”God damn!”

There was always this beautiful point when Kyle and I had sex where words would no longer come to him. It was like I pushed his brain over the edge, and from then on, he was nothing but instinct. It was a beautiful moment, and everything after that was merely grunts of pleasure and the occasional dirty talk. I loved pushing him to that breaking point. There were always new, delicious ways to get him there.

He leaned forward, kissing my skin as he filled me. Kyle ran his tongue around one of my nipples. I kept my head raised, not wanting to miss the sight of his tongue on my pale, sensitive skin. Every inch of me was filled with pain and ecstasy. I bit my bottom lip as Kyle opened wide and took my pink, puffy nipple in his mouth. My head fell back against the hood, but I took no notice of the hollow metal ring.

With my hands messing up Kyle’s black, slicked back hair, I was in heaven. Every modicum of tension was being utterly destroyed. All the feelings of inadequacy and constant fear disappeared into the vast emptiness along with my passion screams.

I open my eyes, staring straight up into the early morning sky. It was cloudless, and looked like it had been painted by the hand of God. “I’m getting close, and you better fucking come with me.”

There was something so freeing about it being in nature with Kyle, releasing ages of pent-up sexual tension. The pressure was swelling inside me, larger than the first orgasm Kyle had given me. The beautiful feeling of being filled was euphoric. It grew larger and larger inside of me, my moans and cries increasing along with the feeling.

Kyle groaned, spurred on by my words. Upright again, he thrust harder and harder. Kyle was the kind of man I love the challenge, and I was the kind of woman that loves challenging him. It pushed the two of us to sexual heights I didn’t think could ever be duplicated.

The pressure kept building, closer and closer to that wave of relief. “Yes, baby. Come for me.” Kyle’s voice got lower, and his thrusts more erratic. I always loved giving him some little spark to ignite the flames within him.

Kyle’s hands were at my hips, and he filled me one last time. As his fingers dug into my soft flesh, our orgasms erupted together. I reached back for the edge of the hood again. My back arched upward, my hips still planted to the hood by Kyle. I screamed out into the early morning sky, feeling everything and nothing at the same time.

As my body surged with pleasure, I watched Kyle’s muscles. Something about watching his tattoos dancing on his skin was always such a turn on for me. As he gasped for breath, his broad chest rippled. I could see his pulse beating furiously in his neck. I always thought Kyle looked the manliest right when he was coming. It was a beautiful sight to watch. He leaned forward, resting his body against mine. Feeling his heart
beating through his chest reminded me that I still had the sexual power over him. He had the same power over me.

While the two of us caught our breaths, my mind was beautifully blank. I was only taking the sensations directly around me: Kyle’s body, the desolate wind, the dry smell. The rest of the world didn’t exist. It was a short-lived, but a desperately needed feeling. Kyle kissed my neck. “I’ve got a hell of a lot of making up to do with you, Celeste.”

Nothing kills the mood like bringing up the fact that your ex put a hit out on you. I would have given anything to stay in that afterglow forever, but the two of us had problems bearing down hard.

As we leaned on the hood of Kyle’s car and enjoyed the sunrise, I said, “Okay, so everything you know about Conrad…do you think can he follow through?” I couldn't bring myself to say the word kill. It was hard enough to believe, let alone say out loud. The escape had been picture-perfect right up until the phone call.

“Well, like I said, everything I know about him is hearsay. Your man is one hell of a snake, nothing sticks to Conrad Blythe.”

I knew he was poking me, but I still didn't appreciate it. “He's not my man.”

  “Oh, then who is?”

I could throw words around just as well as Kyle. “The man with a plan to keep me alive. Are you that man, Kyle?”

He gave me his familiar smile. Things between us were always so easy, it was hard to think that are subject matter was so heavy. Kyle and I were always the couple that other couples despised. We finished each other sentences and ordered dinner for each other. Sometimes, I even grossed myself out.

He scanned the horizon. “I don't have a plan so much as I have resources.”

He hadn't lost that manly way of twisting words. I couldn’t help but grin. “So tell me about these resources then.”

  “The Rising Sons Motorcycle Club.”

Kyle spoke the words as if they had a reverent power. I stared like he was speaking Greek, but it wasn't enough for him to go on. “Sorry, babe. Doesn't mean shit to me.”

“The club that I rode with fizzled out after I walked away with everything. That was about nine months ago. I kept in touch with a few of the guys, but most of them went their separate ways. Maybe a month after that, this new guy rolled into town. He's the son of the President of the Rising Sons out of Bakersfield. Hence why we're going to Bakersfield.

“Anyway, he sets up shop, and he does it right. We got money coming in almost right away. The original chapter called us down for some turf wars, kidnapping, and I don't know what else, but after that we were all pretty solid. It's a good club. I make a living, and in the Rising Sons, brother really means brother.”

“That sounds really sweet, but what does that mean for us?” We had a bounty on our heads, and Conrad was capable of just about anything.

“The first thing it means,” Kyle eased himself to his feet from the hood, “is that we aren’t heading south anymore.”

The calm shattered in that moment. If we weren’t going south, we were going north. North back to Davis. “Please tell me we’re not. Please tell me we’re not heading back.”

“I don’t want you to panic, Celeste, but we need to lay things out straight.” My knees weakened as Kyle spoke. I sank down on the hood of the muscle car, oblivious to the fact that we had just made love on it. He went on, “Water is wet, fire is hot, Conrad will come for us. Those are facts. Hard, icy, facts.”

I shook my head. “Then why the hell are we going back to Davis? Let’s just get to Bakersfield and go from there. It’ll give us a bit of time to decide what were going to do.” I tried to hang on to the good feelings that we had just rekindled. As I tapped on the hood, I said, “After the events of this morning, I think things have changed a little bit, don’t you think?”

Kyle gave me a sad smile. Nothing good ever came from a sad smile. “Things between us of changed…for the better. Things between you and Conrad, though, there’s nothing better about it.”

I urged, “Then let’s get to Bakersfield. I don’t see why we would head back into the jaws of the beast.” When I contemplated leaving Davis, I really contemplated leaving. In my head, once I passed the city limits, I would never set foot in the town again. I didn’t even know if I wanted to stay in California. Originally, Kyle was just a way to get out, but those feelings that we had for each other were still there, and they were still so strong. It threw a wrench into my plans, but in a good way. Good if we didn’t head back north, that is.

“Celeste,” Kyle shook his head. “If we run, we run forever. If everything about Conrad is true, he’s got contacts. He has people he can pay to find us no matter where we go.”

“And what do we have? The Rising Sons?” I dropped my head down into my hands, “Oh, no, no, no. We’re not just going back. Were going back end things, aren’t we?” That word. I still couldn’t say it. It was fight or flight, and Kyle did not want to fly. That only left one option. One dangerous, foolish option.

Kyle took a step forward, and he took my hands in his. He opened his mouth to speak, but the distant sound of an engine snapped us both to attention. The note was getting louder in a hurry, and my eyes widened. They had found us. I don’t know how, but they had found us, and we were going to die.

Kyle dropped my hands and headed around the side of the car. I was about to do the same, but I saw that he was going for the passenger’s side. There was no way in hell I was driving. After the chase in the Lexus, I was content being a passenger for the rest of my life. As the sound of the vehicle grew closer by the second, Kyle threw open the door and leaned in. When he came back up with a gun in his hand, I ducked instinctively. We weren’t going to speed away. He really was intent on fight rather than flight.

Coming back around the passenger door, Kyle grabbed me by the wrist. He was strong and powerful, but I was still surprised at how easily he yanked me to the side of the car. I knew he wasn’t trying to hurt me, though. “In the backseat. Stay low.” I didn’t need to be told twice. I knew Conrad’s men were dangerous, and they weren’t just trying to return his prize anymore. They were out for blood.

I ducked around the door and slid into the back of Kyle’s ride. The blood rushed through my veins at a furious rate. Once I was inside, I curled up in the fetal position. Kyle ducked behind the door, his eyes and the gun trained at the rise in the road.

He had the gun just out of sight, and when the minivan came into view, he kept it lowered. With its busted muffler, the small people carrier sounded a lot more menacing than it really was. I let out a sigh of relief as it trundled past. A young boy in the back seat looked out the window at me. With an evil little grin on his face, he shot finger guns at me as the minivan crept on down the road.

Jesus, I’ve never felt closer to a heart attack in my entire life. The thought of being killed, or—God forbid— innocent people getting hurt was just too much. Kyle was right. If we ran, we would always be looking over our shoulder. Conrad would always be out there. He might strike at any second, or he might bide his time. Either way, living on the run wasn’t living at all.

After the sick sound of the minivan was gone, I climbed from Kyle’s car. He put his arms around me, pressing the deadly metal of the gun in his hand. I was done with the constant fear.

My heart slowed down, but not by much. What I was going to say had me sick to my stomach. “You’re right. We’ll be on the run forever. I didn’t want to believe it, but it’s him or us. I didn’t want to have to sink to his level of depravity.”

Kyle’s head laid against my shoulder, feeling like that perfect complementary puzzle piece. His voice was soft and soothing as he said, “This isn’t his level. What we’re doing is surviving. What he’s doing? He’s killing just to kill. He’s a monster, and he needs to be put down.”

“Can we do it, though?” My voice trembled. God, I would’ve killed for another night’s sleep. “If what you say is true, I mean, he might as well have a small army behind him.”

  Kyle ba
cked away to look at me. “Don’t you worry about a thing, babe. We’ve got our own army.”
