The Fame Game (Love and the City Book 3) Page 11

I pull out of her, and she curls up at my side, her head resting on my sweaty chest.

“Again,” she whispers, out of breath. “We have to make up for three sexless months.”

I roll onto my side and thread my fingers through her hair, giving her a quick peck on the lips. “We can have phone sex.”

She chuckles. “It’s not as good as the real thing.”

“I’ve never had a long-distance relationship before, but we’ll figure this out.”

“Have you ever had a relationship? Like one that lasted for more than a few months.”

  I shake my head.

She sighs. “Now, do you see why I’m freaking out about us being apart?”

“Actresses and models are different animals,” I admit.

She groans. “Thanks. So what are you saying? I’m just some regular girl?”

“No.” I brush my fingers along her cheek. “You’re my girl.”

With that, she smiles. “This is new for me.”

  “Me, too.”

“Remember when you told me you got me?”

  She nods.

“I got you, too. Don’t worry your pretty little head over things that don’t matter.”

“I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to seeing my boyfriend kiss other women.”

I curl my arm around her, pulling her into my chest. “It means nothing. You’re the only woman I want to kiss. I’m coming home to you, Willow. No one else.”

“I know.” She sighs. “Sorry. I’m just freaking out, I guess.”

“So am I. But this is a good thing for both of us.”

“Do you ever feel something for your costars, or are you able to separate the movie from reality?”

“I dated a few of my costars, but you already know that.”

“Yeah. I’m being stupid.” She shoves her face into the pillow. “Ignore me.”

She’s reading too much into the situation. My girl overthinks everything, so I need to distract her from her thoughts. Gripping Willow’s shoulder, I flatten her onto her back and move between her legs. She widens her thighs for me, a look of pure ecstasy spreading across her beautiful face.

If this is our last night together for months, I need to make it one she will never forget.

  Willow

  Six months later

Nico groans as I push my palms down on his chest. I lift my hips and push him inside me, and he makes a hissing sound.

“Fuck, baby. You feel good. I’m sick of missing you. You’re coming with me next time.”

Since Nico filmed Savages, I have had dozens of phone calls from studio executives about upcoming projects. In less than a year, he’s replaced his bad-boy image, slowly restoring his former fame.

I rock my hips to meet his. “You know I can’t.”

He grips my hips, his fingers digging into my skin. “It’s only a few weeks. You can work from the road.”

I moan as I slide him in and out of me, so painfully slow that a wave of heat rolls down my arms.

  “Stop talking and fuck me.”

He takes that as his cue to let the animal come out to play, thrusting into me so deep I can feel him everywhere. We work in perfect harmony together, our bodies so in sync. Fire spreads beneath my skin, and my entire body tingles and shakes from the orgasm brewing within. Nico rolls the pad of his thumb over my clit, pumping so fast that I come apart at the seams.

I lean down to kiss his mouth, sucking on his bottom lip. His tongue sweeps into my mouth, our tongues tangling as if they’re fighting for control. After two weeks apart, we’re desperate to chase our next high, needing to be close to one another. I’ve missed him so damn much.

Nico massages my breast, pinching my nipple between his fingers. He hits all the right spots at once, and it doesn’t take long before a wave of pleasure hits me again, stealing another orgasm from me. After Nico comes inside me, he leaves a trail of sweaty kisses on my chest and neck, making his way to my lips.

He shoves his hand through my hair, pushing it out of my face. “I love you,” he whispers.

I brush his lips with mine. “I love you, too.”

I roll off him and onto my side of the mattress, starting up at the ceiling as I give myself a second to recover. Sex with Nico is like an experience. Until I met him, I did not understand what I was missing.

Nico snuggles up next to me and points at the nightstand. “Open the top drawer.”

I blow out a deep breath. “I’m not ready yet. Give me a minute.”

“I got you something. Reach in and grab it for me.”

I lean over the side of the bed and open the top drawer of my nightstand. My mouth falls open in shock when I see the robin’s egg blue box. He got me an engagement ring. I grab the box and hand it to Nico.

“Is this what I think it is?”

He nods and then sits up, and I follow suit, sitting cross-legged in front of him. Nico opens the Tiffany box, revealing a princess-cut diamond ring with a platinum band. I fan myself with my hand, and the room suddenly feels drained of air.

“Willow, you changed my life the day you took a chance on me.” His hand trembles as he holds the diamond in front of me. “From the start, you whipped my ass into shape and changed my life for the better. Because of you, I’m a better man. Will you marry me?”

I cover my pounding heart with my hand as tears of joy slide down my cheek. “Yes, a thousand times, yes.”

Nico laughs as he slides the ring onto my finger. He raises my hand to his mouth to kiss my skin, sending a shiver down my arm.

“Now, will you consider coming with me to London?”

I hold up my hand to examine the ring, considering his question. “I guess I can work in the hotel room for two weeks.”

He pulls me on top of him, kissing me with so much passion my head spins. “I’ll make it the best two weeks of your life.”

“We have the rest of our lives together,” I say against his lips.

Nico kisses me again. “I thought we could get married at the Beverly Wilshire.”

  “Really?”

His forehead brushes mine as he nods. “That’s what you’ve always wanted, right?”

“Yeah,” I say, with laughter in my tone. “But I never thought I could afford it.”

“Your entire life is changing, Willow.”

I pinch the skin on my arm and Nico’s nose wrinkles.

  “What are you doing?”

“Making sure this isn’t a dream.”

He laughs. “This is very real.”
