“Need something. I want him to sign his rights over to a little boy and I want the adoption papers,” I inform her.

“You gonna put Ainslee’s name on the papers too?” Cedric asks.

“Without question.” I nod in confirmation.

“Guess that means I’ll have to find another partner for threesomes.” He grins over at Madelyn.

“In your dreams, lover boy,” she giggles.

“Oh, I’ll be in your dreams tonight, baby doll,” Cedric chuckles.

“You two are weirdos. Can we get this done? I’ve got a woman and baby upstairs I need to see,” I mutter.

“You got it, Finley. This is what I’m going to suggest doing, hold off on taking his other hand and let the boys have their fun for a few days. Tomorrow I’ll draw up the papers, we’ll get him to sign all the documentation. Afterwards I’ll have you and what’s her name?”

“Ainslee,” I say, nodding in agreement to what she’s suggesting.

“I’ll have you and Ainslee sign the adoption papers. File them and have everything in order. You should be able to end him after I get all the paperwork in order but not until then. I’d hate to have one of the boys practice their penmanship to match this dickhead’s,” Madelyn says as she lifts a hand to brush her hair out of her face.

“Alright then that’s what we’ll do. I’m gonna head upstairs and check on things. Then I’m getting the fuck out of here. I’ve had it with the drama for one night,” I mutter.

“Yeah, you have a family now to take care of. Can’t wait to see my little nephew when I get home,” Cedric chuckles.

Grinning, I head for the stairs, taking them two at a time. I don’t worry about the blood on my hands as I pass the patrons, the area is dark enough they won’t see it.

I push my way through the crowd and head for the hallway with the stairs leading all the way to the third floor. Soon as I get to the door, I open it and step through to find Ainslee sitting on the couch while talking to Mara-Lee.

“Are you okay?” Ainslee asks, taking note of the blood on my hands.

“Just another day at the office.” I shrug and head to the en suite bathroom to wash my hands and change my shirt. Good thing for Mara-Lee and always restocking. She must’ve brought some things up here while I was down in the basement.

Stepping out of the bathroom, my eyes lock with Ainslee’s first and I switch to Mara-Lee. “Do you mind checkin’ on things? I need to talk to Ainslee then we’re heading home.”

“Yeah, no problem. I’ll head out now and swing into Walmart for some formula, diapers, and a few things for tonight,” she murmurs, glancing over to the baby.

  “Thanks,” I mumble.

Mara-Lee leaves the room being sure not to slam the door closed behind her and I finally speak again. “So, what do you think of being a mom to this little guy with me?” I ask.

Ainslee’s eyes widen. “Are . . . you serious right now?” she asks.

Closing the distance between us, I squat down in front of her the way I’d done earlier during our heartfelt conversation. “I’m definitely serious. I wouldn’t be asking otherwise. I’ve wanted you for years and now that you’re here, I’m not letting you go. Not when you’re the only woman I’ve ever wanted and will always be the only one to tempt me in ways only you can. You’re the best I’ve ever had Ainslee, and I want to give this a shot.”

“But a kid? Where’s his mom?” Ainslee asks.

“Dead, she died in childbirth and the dad thinks he’s demonic, it’s the baby’s fault, all of that. I’m having my lawyer draw up the paperwork now so it’s official and legal.”

Ainslee sucks in a deep breath and looks at the kid. “Does he have any other family?”

I know for a fact he doesn’t, so I shake my head. “No, this scumbag doesn’t, and unfortunately it means the baby will go in the foster care system.”

Ainslee furrows her brows. “Um . . . why would he go in the foster care system?”

I cackle lightly, “‘Cause his dad isn’t gonna walk out of here alive. I’m not letting a man like that walk free. Scum of the fuckin’ earth. So, what’s it gonna be? You gonna help me raise him?”

Ainslee takes in a deep breath and looks down at the boy in her arms. “This is happening so fast, Finley, so fucking fast. We just got back on good terms an hour ago. People will think we’re fucking crazy.”

“Can you blame them? I mean, we are.” I giggle lightly and she smiles.

Whatever comes our way we’ll be able to face together. I have no doubt about it.

  Epilogue

  Ainslee/Vex

  One Month Later . . .

Over the last month my entire world has changed and I’m not even exaggerating. Finley went from avoiding me at every turn, to yanking me by the back of the hair and forcing me to kiss her. God, even thinking about it now makes me wet. I don’t know how all those years ago I ended up going back to Scotland. Sometimes I regret it, while other times I think I needed the horrible things to happen to me in order to shape me into the woman I am today.

Every heartache, every loss, and every horrible day brought me to this moment, to sitting in this class getting closer to getting my MBA. With any luck I’ll be finished in a couple years. Finley’s even made remarks how I can help her around Night’s Bliss and The Lounge. But, honestly, I don’t know how’d that work with the Iron Vex MC. The club is my family as much as Finley and Dominic are. His name was Walter, after his birth father’s father, so we changed that as soon as possible. If you ask me Walter didn’t even fit his personality.

With his dark hair he honestly looks like he could be Finley’s child. They even have the same eye color and skin tone. It’ll only make things easier moving forward, not getting so many weird stares and all that. I had a few friends back in Scotland who adopted and they always said if you adopt, try to adopt a child who looks like you because it’ll make the integration even easier. Considering adoption is so hard, I totally understood what they were saying.

Now, while I was afraid of jumping into the deep end with Finley . . . it’s been amazing. It’s like we just naturally fit together, never having to put too much effort in or anything. We’ve fought once, and it was because she ate my fucking cannoli. I thought I was gonna strangle her to death. You never take food away from a woman on her period and she should know that, but no, instead she took my damn food. I might even be a little bit bitter about it still.

I have weekly video chats with Boss going over the progress I’ve made and since Kayla was attacked it quieted down a bit. I’m betting because Finley’s guys intervened. It probably scared them a little bit so they’re being careful, for a while. That being said, I’ve been integrating myself into the campus life so much more, becoming friendly with a fraternity president that Boss told me she got a tip on. His name’s Victor and he’s technically in his graduate program like me, but oddly enough, most fraternities don’t allow graduates in. They mostly stick to those going for their bachelor’s degree. Considering I’m from Scotland I didn’t realize that was a red flag, but Boss did some digging and with the tip she received, we found out this guy’s connected to a few interesting people to say the least.

Victor always gets to class early, so I made sure to get here too and wait outside where we normally have our lectures. I flirted with him a bit and asked him about the parties his fraternity throws, briefly mentioning how I wanted an invite, how it could be fun and all that. He made a remark how the party probably wasn’t my scene, and normally it wouldn’t be. But now it is.

Boss called to tell me she heard the police have been covering up a few women who’ve gone missing here at the college, all who’ve gone to a party at this frat house. The same frat house Victor is the president of. I’m not someone who believes in coincidences, but I am a firm believer in what’s factual, like people following the same pattern.

I might’ve just flirted with Victor, slyly indicating I’d like some alone time with him, and a party would be
a great opportunity for it. Our professor came in before he could answer me, but we’re leaving class and I let everyone file out of the room, then walk up to Victor and sit down on his lap, grabbing his tie and wrap it around my wrist. “I’m beginning to think you’re not a fan of me.”

“No, no. I wouldn’t say that. I’m just . . . not used to women being so straightforward.”

I giggle, putting on a show for him. “Come on, you can’t be serious. You’re in a fraternity.”

“Yes, but I’m much different than my brothers.”

“Obviously, so, let me just break it down for you. I’ve been watching you all semester and I think we have certain . . . interests. I’d like to explore those with you and find out if it’s true, if it’s accurate and I . . .” I release my grip on his tie and drag my nail down his chest until I reach his navel, tapping away through his shirt. “I think you’ll enjoy what I can bring to the table.”

A few moments of silence pass us by before Victor nods. “Maybe I was wrong about you. Maybe you’re much more different than I’d thought. I’m throwing a party next weekend if you’re interested, right before midterms.”

I smile lightly. “I think it would be a lot of fun.”

I can’t fucking wait to tell Boss about the progress I’ve made tonight, and I can’t wait to tell Finley and Twister too. Knowing all of them, they’ll make sure I won’t show up to this party alone and I’ll have the backup I need.

Victor sets me off, and I’m really looking forward to finding out what kind of shit pile he rolls around in.

  Author’s Note

  Dear Readers,

I hope you enjoyed what we both did, meshing our Iron Vex MC and Devil’s Riot MCs. We’ve gotten a lot of feedback already on previous projects we’ve worked on together and we’ve decided to make a big leap right here. Our original plan was to make this a happily-ever-after, although as we were writing we decided we fell in love with Ainslee and Finley. There’s so much that makes them so very special, and we’ve committed to continuing their story in novellas.

What does this mean? Well, it means we’re going to be a little complicated but what else is new. The two of us are very complicated people who change our schedules at least a few times a year. Anyways, Vex’s Temptation is part of Elizabeth Knox’s Iron Vex MC world, so this is being published in her MC series. Our next book that Ainslee and Finley will be in is going to be called Finley’s Adoration, and it’ll be releasing in July of 2021. If you want to pre-order it, go tap on the title. It should take you directly to the Amazon link. We’ll also be writing a Christmas story about Finley and Ainslee that’ll release sometime next December. All of the stories will be linked as bonus content in Elizabeth Knox’s Iron Vex MC series on Amazon and E.C. Land’s Night’s Bliss series that E.C. Land will be debuting in September of 2021 with the first novel being Cedric’s Ecstasy.

Going forward, you’re going to see a mix of the Iron Vex MC in these two’s books, as well as Finley’s operations with Night’s Bliss.

We’ve absolutely loved writing this story and hope you all do as well.

  Much love,

  Liz & E.C.

Pre-Order Venom’s Secret, coming in January!
