I guess in a way I did. Because of that pain, I was able to bring you Seven Sisters.
Through Carrie Jo, I learned to deal with the truth, that my brother would be leaving me and he did and I would have to be okay with it. Lance passed peacefully in his sleep but he left like the warrior he was and always will be. Through it all, Carrie Jo was my friend and my therapy and by some of the letters I have received yours too. One of the sweetest letters I read was from a young woman who was going through the same thing with her mother. She would read to her Seven Sisters and they would talk about the stories. I love that. I’m so glad that in some way I was able to impart a little bit of magic into that book.
After the completion of the Gracefield books, I’m going to take a short break but you know me. I will be plotting new series including Delta Hex Paranormal, Pieces of Twelves, and a stand-alone novel called The Fortune of the Birds.
I’m very excited about The Fortune of the Birds. There will be paranormal elements to it; it won’t be centered around a decaying old plantation. This spooky book will be set in the 1930s, spanning countries and cultures. But never fear, at the center of it all there is an old family and naturally a curse and plenty of tragedy. Oh, and yes, ghosts. Lots of those. I look forward to bringing that book to you soon.
I’ve got some other books up my sleeve too. I am working with two different friends on two amazing series. That’s all I can say about that for now but it’s EXCITING!
It’s always a challenge to measure how you feel about a series. Readers don’t write as often as I would like them to. If you love Carrie Jo, Lily and the others please do write to me. Let me know you want to read more. I am available on several social media sites including Facebook and Instagram. I also have my website at MLBullock.com. I welcome your emails and messages.
I think we will see our dreamers again— if that’s what you want. In the meantime, there are plenty of other stories to tell and I am happy to be the one to tell them.
Drop me a line sometime.
Stay spooky, my lovelies!
All my best,
Monica Leigh Bullock
