I have the name and number of a contact with the Maryland militia, it is included with the packet I brought you. Contact him when you move into his sector his people will assist you in whatever way you ask. Also in the packet are some current Maryland license plates to use. Also here are four satellite two way cell phones. You can use these and call anyplace regardless of where you are and they can’t be traced. He added, is there anything else you think you might need. Goldie asked Mac, how is our cash holding up? We should be ok Mac answered. Richard reached inside his jacket pocket and handed him some bills. Take this just in case something comes up.

The captain who had been quietly listening said by the way General Sheridan got your message. His aide said he was not surprised to hear from you. He said after your video and the new York operation he knew you were leading the resistance. He said make sure you know who your enemies are. Then the captain asked now that you have the particulars how many men you plan to use. There will be just the twelve of us, Mac and our old squad and myself. The fewer there are on a job like this the less chance for error. Mac and the men and I have worked together before, we know how each other work and think. We’ll get the job done if it can be done. Well Richard said you have a lot more experience at this than any of us. When do you plan to move out? Well it’s an eight hour ride, a day of scouting, then a day of preparation. We’ll move out late tomorrow.

The captain said you know we have the former special force group available if you decide you want them to come along. Goldie said we appreciate that but the more vehicles the harder they are to hide and go unnoticed. The twelve of us will take three sedans they won’t call attention. That leaves plenty of room for us and the passengers we’ll be taking on. Richard stood and said we should be going, you use your radio phones, contact us if you need anything. A lot rests on this operation, it’s in your hands now. Mac said we’ll get the job done Richard, it will be done right. Richard said yes I’m sure it will and all interested parties will be advised it’s a go, so take care my friends. They shook hands around then boarded their vehicles and pulled out of the camping area.

Once their visitors had left James said dad you can’t go out on this one short handed. Joshua too objected to not being included. Mac looked at the boys for a moment then said boys your dad has been in this game longer than any of us. We have been thru a lot together and your father brought all of us home safe every time. Besides, he needs you guys here to keep your men together in case something comes up while we are gone. Goldie said exactly, you must stay here with your men and your families and keep this fire going till we return, and we will return.

The boys were still concerned about their father going off without them but agreed he was probably right. Tim broke in saying James why don’t you and Joshua come with me. Lets take the sedans in town to the local garage and have them gone over and prepared for the trip. Mac said good idea we haven’t used them for a while. After they had left Mac said the boys are worried about their old man top. Goldie said yeah he knew but they will be alright once we are underway.

He looked at the men, all had been sitting quietly thru the discussions with Richard and the boys. He said you guys have been quiet thru this have you any questions or concerns. They said just the normal ones but those will be answered once we get there and size the area up and make our plans. Goldie said this may be a tough one, not the job itself we’ll work that out, but right now I guess I feel like the colonists did when they went after the kings men. One of the guys said yea but like them we don’t have a choice if we want to be free.

Mac said Jefferson knew what he was saying when he warned the people they would have a free country only if they have the courage and wisdom to keep it. Look at the odds they went up against, but they stayed the course and won their people liberty. Goldie said let us hope the flames of freedom still burns in the hearts of those who lead the military, they can end this threat to our people or they can make this a long dirty fight.

They sat around the fire talking about the job ahead until the lookout called to say Tim and the boys were back with the sedans. Goldie told them it’s time we load up the supplies we will need. He said put the heavy stuff and the explosives in the trunks, enough for each four man crew in each vehicle. Put the m16s and ammo in the compartments in back, we will carry our hand guns on us. Also he said, put some daily rations and medical kits in each vehicle in case we need them. Also, everybody put a clean field uniform in their vehicle for later if we need them, we will wear our civvies on this one so we don’t attract attention.

After everything was loaded and the vehicles readied he said now lets set down and have a Pepsi while we discuss the job ahead. He looked at Tim and his sons and told them, guys I know you want to be in on this one and your worried about the old man but I need you to be here for your men. After we have left you can tell your leaders we are off on a mission and the men will probably be hearing about it on the radio. Tim I need you to have a few of your men stay at the camp while we are gone to watch over our supplies. Tim said that will be no problem when do you want them here. Goldie answered we are leaving out this evening an hour or so after dusk. Tim said me and the boys will stay here until you leave then I will call some men in before we head home.

Goldie said we will get to our location before light tomorrow. We will call ahead and meet our Maryland contact and arrange to have a place to rest and do our scouting from. Tomorrow we will be looking over the area and approach roads and making our plans so don’t worry if you don’t hear from us right away. If we need more firepower I’m sure Maryland will furnish it. Wednesday the 15th may well be a busy time and we will contact you as soon as it is safe to do so. You may well hear about the situation over the radio before we contact you but those reports may not be accurate, so keep calm until you hear from us.

The evening went by quickly and before long darkness had set in and he told the others well it’s time we get on the road. As the men started towards the vehicles he turned to Tim, shook his hand and told him, you keep watch over my boys for me while we are gone. Tim said after we brief our leaders we will stay here together Goldie until you make it back, we’ll be ok. He put his arms around James and Joshua and held them for a moment then said, you keep the flowers looking nice for your mother and Jeffrey while I’m gone. Then he got in the sedan and said lets move out. Tim and the boys were still watching them as they drove out of sight and Mac said they will do ok Goldie.

Once underway he told the driver stay on this route till we reach Charlestown then we’ll take route seventy seven over the mountains until we get on route sixty four. That will take us all the way to Baltimore. Five hours later they came off the west Virginia pike and pulled into a rest area. Goldie told Mac we might as well see if we can reach our contact in Maryland. He called the number given by Richard and asked the voice on the phone if mike was there. The voice said this is mike what can I do for you. Goldie replied we are friends of Richard from Ohio, and told we should contact you when we reach Maryland. Yeah Richard and the captain said you were coming, which way are you coming in? Goldie advised him of the route they were taking and was told when you cross the Maryland line look for a yellow farm house on the right, about twenty miles inside the state.

Take that exit, exit one, we’ll be waiting for you in two red pick ups and take you to a safe place to rest up. Goldie said we should see you in about three hours. Mike said everything is quiet here nothing going on we’ll be here waiting. Mac said well he spoke of both Richard and the captain so he must be friendly. Goldie said I recon so but we will stay ready just in case they’re not. The cars all switched drivers and they proceeded on their way. It was near three a.m. when they crossed over into Maryland . Goldie told the driver it should be the first exit on the right and told Mac, get the others on the two way, tell them to be alert in case things go wrong.

Exit coming up the driver said and started slowing down. Mac said there’s two red pick ups parked over on the right by that t
ruck stop. Goldie said pull in and circle around heading out then stop behind them. As they pulled their sedans in behind the pick ups it appeared there were two people in each truck. One man got out of each pick up and walked slowly back towards them. Goldie and Mac each stepped out as the men approached them. One of the men said I’m Mike this is Randy, how are my friends Richard and the captain doing? Goldie said this is Mac, I’m Goldie, Richard and the captain were doing fine when we left. Mike said Richard called said there would be twelve of you, we have things set up for you at my brothers fishing lodge a short distance from here. He has fuel there where you can fill up.

Mike said follow us it’s about four miles straight ahead. They swung in behind the pick ups and a few minutes later they pulled of into a graveled parking area. Mike came over and said pull over by the tanks and we’ll get them filled up, then we will pull them around behind the lodge there’s a large storage barn where you can pull inside out of sight. Soon all the vehicles were taken care of and hidden inside out of the way. Mike said I’ll lock the doors and set the alarm, if you want you can all come inside or some can remain with the vehicles for now. But we can watch the barn from inside on television. Mac said Richard said you could be trusted, that’s good enough for us, Goldie agreed.

Mike said if you men want to get some rest there are bunks in the family room where all can bed down. I’ll have my people watch your vehicles and gear and wake you after sunup. We can all have some breakfast then we’ll take a drive and show you around the embassy complex. Goldie said sounds good to me we can use some rest. Mike said come with me I’ll show you to the bunks everything was made ready for you after Richard called to say you would be checking in with us. You guys get some rest and we’ll look things over tomorrow. After mike had left Mac said this guy is well organized he will be of help to us. Goldie said sure looks that way now lets all get some rest.

The next morning they were awakened to find breakfast ready for them. Several of the local militia members were on hand to welcome them. A lively but serious discussion about governments betrayal of America took place while breakfast was served. Mike acknowledged that in Maryland and Virginia where government had overpowering forces their numbers had prevented them from any sizeable confrontations with government forces. But he said our numbers are growing and we are gaining more support all the time. But he said we are in communications daily with the leaders like Richard from around the country and ready to join the national movement when it comes.

After all had eaten mike said we are aware of the operation you have undertaken. If you like myself and one of my men will accompany you now and look the site over with you. He said we can use our vehicle if you like. Goldie said whenever you are ready Mac and I will go with you. Mike told his men you guys all stay here and keep an eye on things we should be back in a couple of hours. One half hour later Goldie saw the sign embassy complex and said this is where he remembered seeing the place. Mike said this is it but lets drive on past a few miles so you can see the route they will have to take to get here.

He proceeded on to the next exit then took the off ramp and turned off onto a side road before turning around and going back up the access ramp. This exit does not take them past the embassy grounds, they will come past here and take the next exit. As he turned onto the off ramp he said this is the only exit they can use to enter the complex. This is the only access road leading to the complex, but it does continue and cars can exit the other direction. The complex is about one half mile ahead we will drive on past it so you can see it’s layout. Goldie asked where does that side road go ahead and mike said this goes to the private golf course for embassy members.

We can follow that and turned into the side road followed it a few hundred yards until coming to a course parking area. Mac said looks like this is only a short distance to the main entrance road to the complex. He asked does this road continue on around the complex or end here. Mike said he wasn’t sure he had never came this way but lets find out. They proceeded around the parking area and found the road actually continued on. Mike said well lets see where it takes us and kept going along the road. The road continued about one half mile came to a divide where one street went to the complex rear parking area, the main road continued on coming back onto the route sixty four several miles ahead. Well Mac said this is good there is a back way out. Yes mike said, and this is the same road we took to access the beltway.

Goldie said we didn’t see any security anyplace around the complex or golf course but we can expect that will not be the case tomorrow. Mike said he had been in the area on several occasions when dignitaries were coming and going, other than escort vehicles he had never seen a lot of security. Mac said the fact they are meeting here rather than at the capital leads him to believe they don’t want to call attention to this meeting. Goldie said you may be right but we need to be prepared just in case they have the place staked out. Lets drive back to the turn off then take the main access road past the front entrance to the complex and get a look at that side.

Mike said ok and started back to the main road. He drove on past the complex then onto the beltway and turned towards his brothers lodge. Within a half hour they pulled into the lodge to find all was quiet and the men well rested and waiting for them. How did it go one of the men asked. Mac said smooth today now we need to set down and make some sketches for all of you to study this afternoon when we decide where to make our strike.

Mac spent some time making sketches of the embassy complex and the surrounding area and entrances to the complex and golf course. Then all got together to decide the best location from which they could best meet their objective. Goldie believed the best chance for success lay in surprising the motorcade before it reached the complex. He said I believe once they reach the complex parking area they would have more chance of evading a trap in the parking area than they would if stopped along the access road. Right here at this juncture where the road splits with one going to the front of the complex and this one going off to the golf course and around the rear of the complex.

If we surprise them here at this juncture the trees on both sides prevents any maneuvering to get past or go around us. It also allows us two roads to chose from to make our escape out onto the main highways. He asked mike can you position two spotters, one near the capital to advise us when the motorcade departs and how many vehicles are in the motorcade, and which vehicles the people we want are in. We need another spotter at the exit off the beltway to advise us when the motorcade is approaching our position giving us enough time to get our people in position from the wooded area next to the golf course. Mike said that will be no problem we can have people in place and alert you with our radios.

Mike said to avoid chancing having one of your sedans damaged I have a friend who does highway maintenance for the state. We can have him position two maintenance trucks along the road, one just past where these roads split and one just before the divide. As the motorcade comes past this first truck it can block the road behind the motorcade at the same time the front truck blocks the road in front. Our people will know which vehicles the officials are in and take out the others first with heavy enough fire to eliminate everyone riding in them. At the same time your team can disable the other vehicles capture your targets load them in your vehicles which can wait for you at the golf course lot, then make your escape. Once you have your targets on board my people can melt away into the woods and make their way on foot to where we have transportation waiting for them.

Goldie said the operation shouldn’t take more than a moment, two at most, even if they have beefed up security at the embassy we should all be clear and be on our way before they could respond and become a problem. Goldie asked whether mike had any heavy weapons. Mike replied we have shoulder fired missiles and fifties and we can destroy the security vehicles with one surprise attack. Goldie said we have twenty millimeters we can take out the wheels and suspension and disable the vehicles our targets are in without harming those i
nside. Mike said then we are in good shape. Lets see if my chef can rustle up some food for us and then we will rehearse this operation again this evening.

Before long the lodge workers came out with trays of hot food, soups, vegetables, and sandwiches until everyone ate their fill. Goldie said this has cost you my friend and handed mike some bills. This will take care of the food and your expenses tomorrow and help you organize and supply you men for a time. They spent some time going over the plan of attack. Mikes drivers would drop off his people then leave to a pick up point. Goldie’s drivers would drop him and his men off then wait at the golf course. Goldie said there are enough trees and foliage for us to stay out of sight until we move into action. We need to be in position and have your spotters in place at least an hour before the motorcade is scheduled to leave out so we should retire early this night. Mike said yes we should be prepared to leave here no later than seven.

After the men had all retired for the night Goldie lie thinking about the job ahead. Had he overlooked anything that could change or interrupt their plans. Was there any other way to stop the planned takeover by those who dream of a new world order. Would the joint chiefs step in and what direction would they take the country if they did. Had he lost his dear wife and son for naught and how many more would be lost before the fight was won. Finally his doubts were calmed and rest came.

He awoke the next morning rested and at peace with himself. He glanced over to see Mac seated on the edge of his bed and said I see you too are up early Mac. Mac answered yes most of the men are already up and having coffee in the lounge with mike and the others. Goldie said well lets go join them friend then rose and together they went out to join the others. Mike said good morning have some coffee and donuts, hope you slept well. Goldie replied sure did these are the best accommodations we have had for a while. While they sat Mike said he had twenty men selected for the job. More than needed to take out their security vehicles but if need be enough to hold off security while you get away.
