  Epilogue

  Ashley…four months later

I can’t believe we’re getting ready for Christmas. The past few months have gone by so fast. The house is almost complete, just a few minor details left down in the basement. Once Grant finalized the sale of their other house and everyone was under one roof, we quickly got into a normal routine.

I love all the snow. I think this will be my first white Christmas. Although there is a debate over what makes it a white Christmas. Having snow on the ground or snow actually falling on Christmas Day. Everyone you ask has their own opinion. Either way, I like it. The lake is frozen over. And I don’t care what they say, I am not walking out on that ice. I don’t care how thick they say it is. I like sitting by the fire looking out at the lake, that’s good enough for me. I did get some really good pictures of the wolves running in the snow with the mountains in the background.

A few days ago, Gabe gave Jack an update on Christi. She isn’t doing well in jail. She’s refusing the help they’re trying to give her and making a lot of enemies. A few of her rants about people turning into animals have made it into the media. Thankfully, the focus is on how crazy she sounds and not anything else. I feel sorry for her a little. It didn’t have to turn out the way it did.

Jack didn’t like hearing that Christi had help from some guy named Fred. It seems he provided the gun that turned out to be stolen. I haven’t met him, but it’s clear that Jack and Gabe are not fans of the guy.

I’ve been successfully testing my dryer sheet theory. The first time I snuck up on Jack did not go well. The test went perfectly, passed with flying colors. Jack, however, did not like it at all. He calmed down after I explained the reason for the blind test. We’re still testing it out. I want it to be implemented slowly. This simple tool will only work to our advantage for a short amount of time. Once others discover the trick, that advantage will be lost.

It seems strange to be getting ready for Christmas without Sarah around. I miss her. She’s coming in May and plans on staying the whole summer. I can’t wait. We video chat on the computer a few times a week. She’s talked to and seen just about everyone that way, but it’s not the same.

My mom finally returned one of my calls and we had a good talk. I told her about New Hampshire and my relationship with Jack. She sounded sincere when she said she was happy for me. I don’t think she’ll ever come for a visit, but I’m glad we’ve started talking again.

I hear more people in the kitchen since it’s close to dinner time. Earlier, I snuck away to the bedroom to wrap some presents. One rule Jack and I started soon after we were mated was about dinner. No matter what’s going on, everyone comes to dinner and we eat as a family. I’m at a good stopping point with the wrapping. I’ll stop now and go back to the kitchen to help Brooks.

The wolf in my dreams had been leading me to my destiny after all. Fate brought me to Wolfton, to this house, and to my wolf, Jack. I’m glad I followed, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

  Acknowledgement

I’ll be completely honest: writing a book is a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. While writing itself is a solitary task, I know that none of this would have been possible without the support and guidance I received along the way. I am eternally grateful to all of those who have been a part of my getting here: Shelley Davis, Sandy Gallien, Megan Loveland, Aprel Fripp, Diane Shirk, Tara Trapp, Christine Ratzel, Ramy Vance, Nola Li Barr, Patrick Sussig, H.R. Wallace Publishing, and all my amazing beta readers.

  Psst…

Ashley here. I hope you enjoyed reading our story just as much as we loved sharing it. Please leave Leona a star rating and a review on Amazon for Delivered. Reviews and ratings are very important to indie authors. They are one of the only ways to give potential readers who don’t know Leona’s work an idea of what to expect. And they give the author valuable feedback she can use to improve and make the stories better. Hope to see you in the next book.

  The Blackpaw Prophecy, Book 2

She’s running away from her shifter heritage. He’s a wolf shifter ready for a mate. When their worlds collide, can fate’s promise be denied?

Alex Sinclair is an independent woman who just graduated from medical school. Only one obstacle stands in the way of a new career at a big Chicago hospital. She has to tell her father that she won’t be joining his medical practice and is leaving Wolfton behind.

Grant Negrescu is the beta to the Blackpaw wolf pack. He’s ready to find his mate and fall in love. When he meets Alex, Grant is thrilled to discover that she’s his fated mate. But she has never shifted and wants nothing to do with his shifter life.

When Alex meets Grant, her wolf charges forward to claim her mate. Unsure which world she belongs in, Alex wants to run. The sooner she can get her wolf under control, the sooner she can leave Wolfton and Grant behind. That rule about going insane if she denies Grant is just a scare tactic, right?

Did fate get this match wrong? Or can Grant help Alex to embrace her shifter heritage before it’s too late…
