  ‘Goodbye.’ She said to nobody, before walking determinedly off, across the tarmac.

  Closure

  “It’s nine o’clock, time for the morning news.’ The radio blared into the silence. It’s hissing getting loud for a moment, like an angry cat, before settling down to background again, ‘People by their thousands are today confused by the events following yesterday’s bizarre emptying of the Moreton hospital. Roads have been brought to a standstill as what is coming to be known as the “Moreton Epidemic” spreads during this Monday morning’s rush hour. People are being advised to stay inside as terror in the form of mass looting and attempted murder spread wildly in the centre of town. No word as yet as to the dead or injured but it has been suggested the number could be in the tens of thousands. A spokesperson from the Moreton had this to say, “It appears to be some form of contagion, that is all we know.” When asked if said contagion was dangerous the individual responded, “we hope not.” The mayor has been seen fleeing for his estate in the country whilst the armed forces have been put on high alert. The statement from our government appears to be “lock your doors and bar your windows, the apocalypse has begun.” For…’ the static hiss overtook the voice from the radio and after a few minutes, the radio fizzled and died.
