I stared at Bethesda’s limp frame. In all honesty, she looked reasonably comfortable.
“Well…”
“And besides…” Katie ran over and grabbed a DVD out of the crate and waved it in the air. “She’s got Mamma Mia!”
I rolled my eyes. “So?”
“Ummm…I haven’t actually SEEN IT,” Katie contended with a frank glare.
I couldn’t argue with that. I sighed and adjusted the pillow under Bethesda’s head. “Put it in,” I conceded with a grin. “And go see if she’s got any popcorn.”
Katie popped the DVD into the tray. She bent down and gave me a quick peck on the cheek. “Thanks, Shi.”
“Any time,” I replied. And just as fate would have it, another movie sticking out of the crate hailed my attention. I tried my best to keep a straight face as I gave the DVD box a playful toss. “But are you sure you don’t have a hankering for some Batman?”
One of the countless floor pillows flew across the room, gunning for my face.
And me without my wand…
