Just then, I caught movement on the lawn below out of the corner of my eye. I turned my head and squinted, trying to see what had moved. I scanned the entire lawn then focused on the tree line. Suddenly, I saw it again and I stood up to get a better look. All the way across the lawn and walking in the foliage at the edge of the forest I was sure I saw an enormous, silvery-gray dog, just like the one from the forest at home. In fact, if we had not been so far from home, I would have sworn that it was the same dog.
The dog disappeared into the forest and though I stood watching for at least ten minutes, it did not reappear. What an odd coincidence, I thought as I looked down at the pool. People were starting to wander out to lounge in the sun and it suddenly sounded like a good idea.
As I was digging in my suitcase for sunscreen, I came across the a little pouch containing the jewelry I had purchased at Fire! A thought popped into my head. I pulled out the little pair of nipple wires and put them on. They felt nice and, when I stepped in front of the mirror, I thought that they looked nice too. Then, after I had slipped on the clitoral clip as well and admired myself in the mirror, I decided that the jewelry made me look amazing.
I decided that I needed to show my jewelry off. A little shopping trip was in order but I was still mad enough with Wolf that I decided that I would not give him the satisfaction of paying for my purchases. For all I cared at the moment, he could live with the guilt of leaving me all alone on vacation. I snapped the long stem off Wolf’s orchid and tucked it behind my ear then grabbed my purse and headed downstairs. I did not need a man to buy things for me. I was perfectly capable of doing that myself.
As I walked toward the row of shops, I decided to stop at the front desk to ask about the dog. “Excuse me?” I asked the young woman behind the counter.
She smiled and answered with, “How may I help you, madam?”
“I was on my balcony this morning and I saw a large dog out on the lawn. I was wondering if you could tell me what kind it is?”
She wrinkled her brow. “I am sorry, madam, but there are no dogs on the island,” she said. “The only dogs we allow are service animals and at the current time, there are none.”
“I am sure I saw a large dog this morning. It was out near the edge of the forest.”
“I will ask the manager to be sure but I am sure that there are no dogs at this time.”
I stood at the counter as she stepped away and waited at the elbow of an older gentleman who was speaking with some other guests. When he was done, he bent his head to listen to her speak in hushed tones. He looked up at me twice as she spoke, then smiled and came over to me.
“You believe you saw a dog on the lawn this morning, madam?” he asked.
“Yes,” I said. “It was very large and it was kind of a silvery-gray color. I was wondering if you could tell me what kind it is or if you could point me in the direction of the guest who owns it so I can ask them?”
He frowned. “I am sorry, madam, but there are no dogs on the island and we do not currently have any guests requiring one.”
“Are you sure?” I was beginning to wonder if I had seen the dog or if it had been a trick of my imagination.
“Yes, madam,” he answered. “We are very strict with the rule, and permission for all dogs must go through me. I would know if there was one here.”
I looked down at my hands, thinking, then looked back up at the manager. “Is it possible that someone snuck one onto the island or maybe one swam here?”
He chuckled. “No, madam. We are much too far from the mainland and it is unlikely that a dog swam from one of the other islands. It has never happened before. And it is not possible to sneak a dog onto the island,” he said. “All guests arrive by way of our private water taxi. We would know if someone brought a dog. I am sorry, madam, but you must be mistaken.”
“No,” I said. “I am sorry to have bothered you.”
“It is no problem.” He smiled widely. “Is there anything else you require?”
I tried to smile. “No, thank you,” I said, turning to leave.
As I walked off, I wondered about what I had seen. Up at the room, I had been sure about the dog, but the more I thought about it, the more I convinced myself that it had been a stick or a shadow. My mind must have been playing tricks on me.
Nearing the stores, I decided to put the dog out of my mind and focus on a little retail therapy. The first store I came to did not really draw my attention. When I looked through the window, it was a regular old jewelry store. It looked nice, but since I was at the resort and I was wearing the jewelry from Fire! traditional jewelry did not seem like something I needed.
Next door to the jewelry store was a small bookshop with a few of the latest best sellers and magazines. On a whim, I picked up a copy of a magazine called Nudism Now and the latest trashy romance novel. I figured that losing myself in a good book would pass the day quicker than just sitting around.
The next shop contained kites and snow globes and the type of things you took home as souvenirs, so that did not interest me either. The one after that looked appetizing since it was filled with chocolate goodies but I did not think that my hips would appreciate that too much. Following that was something of a general store. It sold soda and aspirin and Band-Aids and things like that, so it did not look interesting either.
I walked into the last shop and found that I was unable to keep myself from touching the beautiful fabrics. The little shop was full of sarongs made from every fabric imaginable. Every color of the rainbow was there. Some of the sarongs even had all of them at the same time. My fingers ran over the surface of one after another. I thought that I would never be able to pick just one but then I came to it—the one.
The sarong I could not live without was made from a sheer, silky fabric and it faded from vibrant orange at the bottom to deep red at the top. All along the hem were tiny little red crystals that sparkled as the fabric moved. I could already imagine it in the moonlight. I picked it up and walked up to the register to pay.
As I laid the beautiful sarong on the counter, the woman behind it leaned forward and looked pointedly at my breasts. “Those are so beautiful,” she said. “I’ve never seen anything quite like them before. Did you buy them down at the jewelry store?” She was looking at my nipple wires.
“These?” I pointed at a nipple. “I bought them at a store back home called Fire! but you might be able to buy them on the Internet. I’m not sure but I think they might have a website,” I said.
She nodded. “I am going to have to check that out. They’re very nice. I like the way they make your nipples stand up perfectly.”
I surprised myself a little and took a step back from the counter and pointed at my pussy. “I also bought this at the same store,” I said.
“Ohhh,” she said, leaning over a bit farther. “I’ve seen clit clips before but I never saw one like that. Most of them look very cheap but not yours. It’s very pretty.”
As she rang me up, I wrote down all of the information for Fire! that I could think of. “Thank you,” she said, as she handed me my change. Then she went on. “You know what? With that clit clip, I would wear this sarong tied in the middle instead of to the side. You want to do everything you can to show off a pussy as pretty as that.”
“You don’t think it would be too much for sitting out by the pool, reading?” I asked.
“No way,” she said. “I know a lot of people think places like this are about being one with nature and all that, and I agree that it is like that at least partially. I also think it is about flaunting it when you have something to show. And, madam? You’ve got it and it is beautifully adorned. Flaunt it!”
Chapter 12:
Paradise Lost
I spent most of the day wandering the resort by myself, admiring all of the beautiful flowers. Among them, I was pleased to see a variety of orchids. The day was hot, and by midafternoon, I think I had seen every inch of the resort twice and I was starting to get tired. Though I
was tempted to doze by the pool, I knew that it was a bad idea to fall asleep in the sun, even with sunscreen. Instead, I knew it would be better to return to my room.
In the cool shadows of the room, I stretched out in the middle of the bed and fell fast asleep. The sleep that came was fitful, though, and my dreams were vivid and terrible. I was being chased through a lush, green forest. As I ran farther and farther, I became lost. When I came to the center of a clearing, I stopped and turned around to face my pursuer. Then, out of the woods ran the silver-gray dog—only it was not a dog at all. It was a wolf. It slowed and walked up to me and we looked directly at each other. The eyes were so familiar. And then, the wolf opened its mouth and spoke to me.
“Ruby? Ruby?” it said.
I opened my mouth to scream but nothing came out. The voice of the beast was Wolf’s voice. I tried to run but my feet were stuck in the mud.
“Ruby, it’s me,” the wolf said.
Suddenly, the wolf leapt at me and I fell to the ground. I tried to lift my arms to cover my face, but they were stuck in the mud. I was gasping for air. The last thing I remember was the wolf crying, “Ruuuubyyyyy!”
I woke with a start, gasping for air. The light had disappeared from the sky and I was disoriented.
I jumped as I heard Wolf’s voice from beside me. “Are you okay, Ruby?” he asked. “You were dreaming.”
He flipped on the light and I blinked as my eyes adjusted. Wolf was sitting on the bed next to me. He pulled me into his arms.
“You’re back.” A tear spilled onto my cheek as he ran his fingers through my hair.
“I’m back,” he said.
I wiped the wetness from my face. “I dreamed that you were this terrible wolf and you were chasing me through the forest and you were going to kill me.”
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I was trying to wake you up. I didn’t want to because you looked so beautiful lying there, but I could tell you were having a bad dream.”
I wrapped my arms around him. “I’m just glad you’re back.”
“Me, too,” he said. “I’m not sure what I missed today but whatever it was, you must have looked amazing doing it.”
“Oh, Wolf,” I said, rolling my eyes.
He raised his hands, feigning innocence. “What? Is it my fault if the most beautiful woman in the world put icing on top of the cake by wearing jewelry like that? You look like a cross between a royal princess and a fierce warrior.” He was practically purring. “Whoever sold it to you deserves an award. I like it!”
The anger from the morning long forgotten, my hands began to wander and I unbuttoned his shirt. “I’ll be sure to wear it more often,” I said as I leaned forward to plant a trail of tiny kisses across his bare chest.
I climbed onto his lap and brought my lips to his. Slowly, I peeled off his shirt. I nibbled on his lip then moved on to his ear. My voice was thick with desire. “I want you inside me,” I said. I could feel Wolf’s erect penis pressing against his pants as I ground my hips against his.
Ever so slowly, I slid off Wolf’s lap. I brought one finger to my mouth and licked it then ran it over my already-wet pussy. His eyes were glued to me.
“Ruby.” His voice was barely a whisper.
“Do you want me to fuck you, Wolf?” I asked.
“Very much.”
I reached out and unfastened his pants. “Then we better get rid of these,” I said.
As Wolf wiggled out of his pants, his penis stood up, enticing me. I leaned over and ran my tongue along the underside, from base to tip, and he groaned. I lapped the salty wetness that leaked from the tip. My lips wrapped around the head and I sucked it into my mouth.
“Ruby!” he gasped. “I’m not going to last very long if you keep doing that.”
I did not want that, so I gave the head of Wolf’s penis one last good suck, swirling my tongue around and around. Then, I climbed onto his lap. He took his penis in his hand, ready to help guide it into my ravenous vagina. Very carefully, I lowered myself. I could feel the head of his hard cock begin to stretch my pussy open as the dangles of my clit clip gently tapped against his shaft. As his penis slid deeper into me, he moved his hand to my waist to help steady me.
With the entire length of Wolf’s cock buried in my pussy, I sat very still. I began to contract the muscles in my vagina, very lightly. When I could not help myself any longer, I began contracting harder and harder.
“Oh, God, Ruby!” Wolf moaned.
“Do you like that?” I asked.
“Yesss.” It was almost a hiss.
I began to move my hips while I continued to contract and release my vaginal muscles. “How about this?”
His eyes were closed and he bit his lip.
I laughed. “I’ll take that as a yes,” I said.
I decided that the clit clip was in the way, so I gave it a gentle tug and it slid off. I tossed it to the side and pressed my finger to my swollen clit. His penis felt so good inside me. I wanted to have an orgasm with Wolf as deep in my vagina as was possible. I began moving my hips faster and faster and the finger on my clit matched the speed.
“Oh, God!” I cried, unable to stop myself. “Oh! Oh! Oh, Wolf! Oh, fuck yeah!”
I was moving so fast and I began to grunt as my vagina trembled in orgasm. Wolf was close. I could feel his penis starting to twitch, so I began to move my hips faster and faster. Then, suddenly, I felt his hot seed shooting into my pussy, filling me. I slowed to a stop and leaned forward, panting, my forehead resting against his.
We stayed like that until I felt his penis start to shrink away and then I rolled off, leaving my vagina empty. I nestled in next to him with his arm around me and my head on his shoulder.
“That was amazing, Ruby,” he said. “You are amazing.”
I sighed. “You bring out the best in me.”
“I don’t deserve you.” He paused and I waited. “I don’t want to do this right now, but I have to tell you something. I should have told you before.”
My heart stopped and I braced myself for the worst. My voice came out in a squeak. “What?”
“Ruby, I am so sorry.”
“Wolf?” I was suddenly afraid that he was going to tell me that he was married or something of the like.
“I am needed overseas, right away.” The words came tumbling out of him. “I don’t want to ruin our vacation but it’s an emergency. I have to leave first thing in the morning.
“Tomorrow?” I was stunned. “But we have three more days on our reservation.”
He looked into my eyes. “I’m so sorry,” he said. “I tried to get out of it but there is no way this problem can be dealt with without me. I have to go.”
“Tomorrow,” I repeated more to myself than to him.
“I am so sorry, Ruby. I really am. I promise I will make it up to you.”
I looked at Wolf for a long time, studying his face. “Wolf?” I said, finally breaking my silence. “Why didn’t you ask me to go with you today?”
“You looked so beautiful sleeping there with your hair spread across the pillow,” he replied.
I did not say anything. I just looked into his eyes, searching for a hint of what was going on in his mind. For a moment, it felt like there was a wall that was blocking me out.
Wolf’s fingers found mine and tangled into them. “I would have rather been with you than anywhere else in the world, Ruby. When I was called away, I thought it would be a few quick documents to look over and I would be back before lunch. I had no idea it would take so long. I only want to be with you and now—now I am going to have to leave you again.”
I could feel his sadness and I knew that he had not intended to hurt me. “I understand, Wolf,” I said, and I did. I was just relieved that it was work and not a wife.
“Listen,” he began, “just because the vacation is over for me, it doesn’t mean it has to be over for you. If you want to stay on, I will arrange transportation for you to go home when we were supposed to.”
I looked at him and smiled. “No, Wolf,” I said. “This place isn’t any fun without you.”
Chapter 13:
Mr. Woodman
I was sad to see Wolf leave on business in such a rush. When we had walked into the airport in Miami the next morning, there was time for little more than a kiss good-bye before we were on planes headed in opposite directions. I swear that I could almost feel it as we traveled farther and farther apart.
I was wallowing in my loneliness when I returned home. It was almost like being a teenager again. For the entire first day, I sat around my house, waiting for the phone to ring. By day two, I decided that I needed to keep myself engaged in activities so the time would pass faster, so I went to the local nursery and bought a flat of flowers. On day three, I met my neighbor from across the street while I was outside, planting the flowers.
From a distance, Lukas Woodman seemed like the normal elderly neighbor you might find in any neighborhood. I guessed him to be about eighty or so but who could really tell anymore? At any rate, he certainly got around well.
As I kneeled at the edge of my flower bed transferring a flat of petunias from the little plastic pots into the soil, Mr. Woodman ambled across the street to introduce himself. We chatted for a few minutes then I decided that the day was too warm to stand around talking. I decided to be neighborly and invite him to join me for an iced tea on the porch.
“It has been quite a while since we’ve had such a nice young woman move onto our street,” he said with a glint in his eye.
I giggled with glee. I had not thought of myself as a young woman in at least thirty or forty years. “Oh, Mr. Woodman!” I said. “I think you might be teasing me! I think the fact that I have a granddaughter proves that I am no longer a young woman.”
