“I was six. Corrie was four and Cici just two. Our parents left us on a street corner with some sandwiches, a couple bottles of water, and an old raincoat. They told us to stay there. That they would be right back. Then drove off as it started to rain.” He closed his eyes. “We huddled under that damn coat, eating those sandwiches, scared to even go to the bathroom in case they came back while we were gone.” His body convulsed slightly as he tried to hold the emotions down. “Hours later, I don’t know when, but it was late, the police came. We were screaming, crying as they pulled us apart. They put the girls in one car and me in another.” His jaw clenched. “I never saw them again. I’ve been looking nonstop the past fifteen years, but…”
Bessie caught her breath and realized she was crying. Her tears were falling on his chest. He opened his eyes, blinking back his own tears. His hand came up and gently brushed under her eyes.
“Don’t cry, babe. I’m still looking.”
“We’ll look together,” she whispered, pressing a kiss to his mouth. “We’ll find them. Somehow.”
His arms tightened around her, holding her close.
“Tre knows, doesn’t he?” she asked.
“Yeah. We met in foster care. His first paycheck went to hiring an investigator.”
“That’s why he is the way he is with David and Daryl. He didn’t want them separated.”
“Yeah, it probably is,” he agreed.
“I wonder…” she started, then stopped.
“What?”
“You suppose we could ask Allura to help find them?”
“Mmm, hadn’t thought of that,” he replied slowly. “Might keep her out of trouble with Barden.”
Bessie giggled.
“It’s going to be fun watching Allura try to play matchmaker with Darcy and Tina,” Bessie whispered, tucking her head against his shoulder.
“It will indeed,” he agreed.
About the Author
Being published has been a dream of mine for so long that it’s appropriate that my first story accepted, Beck and Call, was inspired from a dream.
I believe that dreams come true, that there are such things as soul mates and that there is a crazy little thing called love.

Interstellar Matchmaker
by Abby Gordon
One bored otherworldly entity disobeys her master, leading to fireworks on Earth.
Tremayne Sheridan is so tired of Hollywood starlets, but ending up in a dinky New Mexico town wasn’t quite the adventure he’d been looking for either. The town’s only diner offers strong coffee, mediocre food, and a chance for Tre to reignite his inner Dom by way of fiery gray eyes and lush curves he can’t forget, even when walking away was his idea.
Alice Andersson’s usual diner meal turns into the opportunity to help two abandoned boys. So what in the world is Tremayne Sheridan, star of Alice’s naughtiest dreams, doing in this corner of New Mexico? One freak storm, a naughty alien, and a plush sedan are the perfect environment to light a fire between them. But even Alice’s and Tre’s combustible chemistry strains under the pressure of anger and mistrust.
