“Fuck, you’re lying,” my father says, shaking his head. The door opens and Derek walks in. He’s not an ugly man; in fact, he’s one hell of a specimen, but we were nothing more than friends, if even that. My father tried to throw us together.
“He’s telling the truth, you lying sack of shit. I swear I’ve killed men worth more than you. You’re fucking lucky there are laws here because in another country, I’d have you under my knife until you took your last breath.”
My father blanches and caves, confessing to trying to bilk millions from Derek while trying to get Derek for the embezzlement and gain the company. My father forged documents giving him legal rights to the company if Derek were arrested. The charges of his arrest were my murder. He claimed Derek was in love with me and kidnapped me back home only to kill me in a jealous rage. What he didn’t know was Derek had suspected something and was working with the Feds when I disappeared.
Detective Sinclair asks after the confession, “Why kill your daughter?”
“My wife didn’t want her to live.”
“You’d kill your own child to please your wife?”
“She said she didn’t need a reminder of my love for my first wife, so I had to get rid of her or she’d leave me. I couldn’t stand losing Karen.”
I press stop and leave the Billings Police Station without a word.
I finally work up the strength to respond, having thought about what I learned today. My father, even with his confession, will never get out because I’m sure Derek won’t allow it. “No. I don’t want to talk about him at all. I’ve decided he’s not worth the pain. Nothing can change what he attempted to do, so I’ll be happy if he rots in prison for the rest of his miserable life.”
“That’s good, but if you want to talk, I’m here.” He holds my hand
“Thank you. I don’t know what I’d do without you, Tobias.”
“Me either. I’d be starving away,” he says, dropping his head back on the sofa with an Oscar-worthy performance.
“So that’s all I’m good for? I see. I’ll take myself elsewhere.” I stand up and get a half a foot off the sofa before I’m being dragged down onto Tobias’s lap. “Excuse me, Mr. Reynolds. I’ll go where I’m wanted.” I playfully try to get out of his hold, so he flips me onto the sofa, tickling me with his stubble.
“I’m only teasing. I love you, Ava, with my entire heart and soul. There’s no way I’d let you leave me. Food or no food. You could have been the shittiest cook in the world and I still would sit there and try to chew it because I’m crazy about you.”
“I’m teasing too. I love you, Tobias.”
He sniffs the air. “What’s that smell?”
“Oh shit.” I nudge him off of me. “I forgot about our dinner.” I rush to the kitchen and he follows behind me. I pull out the rack of ribs from the oven. “It seems you’re going to prove your declarations. This doesn’t look edible.” I toss the tray onto the stove and press the stove vent on high.
He looks at the charcoal bits and then back at me. “How about I take you out instead?”
“Ciao?” I offer.
“Sounds great to me.” He stares at my dinner, looking sad. He loves it when I make my ribs.
“I’ll get ready. I’ll make them another day, Tobias.”
“Next time, I’ll do my best to keep my hands off you. Or at least take you hard and fast in the kitchen instead.” He winks and turns off the stove vent.
Epilogue
Tobias
Seven months of marriage, and life can’t get any better. Okay, one thing sure as hell can. We could be expecting our firstborn. It’s been incredible just having her to myself, but I’m itching to catch up with a family of my own. My sister just gave birth to their third baby two months ago. According to the doctor, birth control can take a long time to leave the system. Ava stopped taking birth control before the wedding, but no baby on the way.
Today, we head out on our long-awaited honeymoon. Maybe we can make our first baby on the island. That would be fantastic. I plan to be buried deep inside her the entire trip. Two weeks of pure fucking and relaxation. I can’t wait.
Our trip was postponed because of the shooting, and then the season picked up as it usually does by then and I couldn’t take time off to give her the honeymoon she deserved.
We had an increase of pregnant cows in January, so yesterday alone, we had three births, all healthy and done with ease. By the end of last week, we had sixteen new calves. I managed to hire three more crew members, all of which are hardworking and love their job. Two are divorced, so they prefer the solitary life and take up more shifts than the others. Landon and his security team have done an extensive background check on each guy for me since I’m busy handling the ranch issues.
About two months after the shooting, Ava decided to help me manage the ranch and has done wonders, making my life a lot easier. She’s worked on her last semester of credits online. It got approved by the school because she had extenuating circumstances. Now she has her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, which works perfectly for us. She doesn’t have to work more than a dozen hours a week on the business side of the ranch.
As for the cooking, she still takes care of that most days. I do try to take her out every week and we order in once as well and make her go back to bed after I leave. One of these days, I’m going to learn to make my own breakfast so she doesn’t have to get up at all. Ava adamantly refuses to hire another cook. As long as she’s not overdoing things, I’m okay with her being the wife she wants to be. I love her and will do anything for my woman. I still bring in the cleaning crew for the shit that I know Ava hates to do.
I saunter into our office and sit on the edge of the desk, making sure to avoid her neatly stacked files. She keeps this place cleaner than I ever have. “Babe, are you ready?”
“Ready for what?” She looks up from the computer with her brow arched.
Bending down, I taste her delectable lips. “Well, beautiful. We are going out of town.”
“Where? Why?” A smile forms across her face so large, I can’t stop smiling myself.
I grab Ava’s hands, rubbing her wedding and engagement rings as I lift her to her feet and nestle her frame between my legs. Brushing her hair back behind her ears with my thumbs, I cup her cheeks. “Our honeymoon. We’re wealthy as hell, and I never took my beloved bride on a honeymoon. What kind of husband am I?”
“A terrible one,” she sighs dramatically, tossing her hand over her forehead.
Chuckling, I move her closer to me with my hand sliding over her bottom. “Woman, don’t get spanked,” I growl in her ear and roughly squeeze her ass with both hands, rubbing her pussy over my hardness.
“Why? I like it,” she asks, pouting and then tossing me a wicked grin. That gets her two good taps on her ass. Each slap causes her eyes to brighten with lust.
She continues to grind on me and then releases a panting moan. “I’m so horny, Tobias.”
“What do you need?” I grunt, holding back the need to devour her this instant.
She presses her forehead against my chest, sliding her hand over my belt and down my jeans, cupping my length. “I need my pussy licked and then I need your big cock deep inside me.”
I release her after stealing another kiss. “Hop on the desk, babe.”
And she does, lifting her dress over her head. I follow and take off my shirt. We kiss hungrily as I move between her legs. Dropping onto my chair, I pull her panties off and skim my nose over her tiny patch of curls. “You smell so good. Is this what you need,” I say, swiping my tongue over her slit. She shivers and I do it again. I love the way she can’t control her reactions.
“More,” she pleads, her fingers sliding through my hair. I could use a cut, but then she can’t hold on and ride my face like she does. Greedy as always, she shoves my mouth into her cunt, rolling her hips and grinding on me. I lick and suck on her little nub until her legs begin quaking and her shouts could be heard thr
oughout the house.
As she comes down, releasing her death grip, I bring her down onto the chair and fully seated on my thick, large dick. “Oh my God. I’m so full.”
“You asked for it, baby. Now ride me.” I swat her ass, getting her to move and bounce those perfect tits in my face. I suck on one and she cries out, quicker than usual. Her pussy flutters and then clenches around my shaft. With her hands on my shoulders, she tosses her head back and lets her orgasm rip through her. I follow, holding her around her back and cupping her neck as I fuck her harder and harder onto my cock, shooting my load. Overwhelmed, I lay my head on her breast as we catch our breath.
“Holy hell, that was incredible,” I whisper, kissing up her body until I reach her lips.
We get dressed again, and I escort her out of the bedroom. “Head on up and pack a small bag. We’ll get everything there.” We’d already booked a trip to Fiji, so I just rescheduled it.
She bounces up the stairs, reaches the top landing, and calls out, “Oh, I forgot to tell you. I’m pregnant.” My eyes widen, and I take the steps two at a time as she runs off into our bedroom, giggling. Damn, we’re going to miss our flight.
“I can’t believe we’re here,” she says, twirling around our villa. I’ve never spent time at the beach, but I enjoy it. Still, my focus is on the spinning angel in her all-white sundress that lifts with the air. She’s radiant and happy to be here with me. After all that she’s been through and for her to shine so bright makes me one pleased husband. Her long blonde hair flows down her back, shining in the sunlight. I wonder if our girls will have that color. I’m already picturing several daughters and a bunch of boys just like me. I want them to take care of the women in our family like they should.
She suddenly stops and stares at me. “What’s up? Why did you stop?” I ask.
“You’re staring at me. Besides, I’m not trying to get dizzy, handsome.” I close the distance between us and pull her in, cupping the back of her head as I lean in for a kiss. I’ll never get enough of the feel of her lips.
“I can’t have you getting dizzy. I’ll hold you until you’re steady.”
“You always make me dizzy.” I kiss her silly again. “See.”
“What do you want to do first?” I ask.
“How about we go for a swim in the large pool in the back?”
“Sounds great to me.” I don’t like saltwater, and she’s afraid of sharks. We head out back to the almost Olympic size pool and strip out of our clothes. We’re alone on this part of the island, so skinny dipping it is. I jump in first grateful that it’s warm and then Ava follows behind, splashing me good.
I pull her in for another kiss and feel her soft breasts against my chest. I’m ready to take her now, but instead, I take off and do a couple of laps. She’s quick and nearly catches up to me, but I’ve got over a foot on her in height with a long wingspan.
After a dozen laps or so, I hop out and take some towels for us as well as the fluffy robes I ordered. “Do you want something to drink?”
“Oh my goodness. They have our names on them,” Ava cheers as she wades in the shallow end.
“Yes, they had that option, so I got it. I hoped you’d like them. Do you want something to drink? As much as I’d love to stay naked with you in the water. You need to take it easy.”
She nods and climbs out. I hand her a towel and she wipes down her gorgeous body before slipping on her robe.
“Just relax.” She rests on a huge, plush outdoor seating area while I get our drinks and food.
We spend the rest of the day swimming, snacking, and making love until the sun sets. “It’s a beautiful one,” I say.
“Yes, but it’s not as good as the one back home. There’s nothing more beautiful than the big Montana sky.”
I beg to differ. I’m definitely looking at the most beautiful thing in my world. I pull her into my arms and hold her close like I plan to for the rest of my life.
Two Years Later
Tobias
Damn it, he’s on the run. Adam’s running around the living room without his diaper on. Sixteen months old and he can sprint. I never knew how difficult it would be to keep up with a child. I’ve rustled plenty of wild animals on the ranch over the years, but my little mini version of me has some good cutting skills.
“He’s going to make a great football player one day,” Ava says behind me.
“Adam, come to Momma.” He rushes to her with his bare ass jiggling and she scoops him up. It’s so damn cute, but I don’t want her carrying him anymore. He’s a large boy like I was, and she’s got my little one growing inside of her. At four months pregnant, she needs to take it easy.
“Mommy, no like diaper.” He pouts, crossing his arms.
“Fine. Then you’re going to have to sit on the potty.” She stares at him with the serious mom stare. The one that gets both of us to do what she says.
“Do you think he’s ready?” I ask. That would be great. It’s about the time to try since he can talk pretty well.
“Potty, potty,” he cheers, clapping his hands and bouncing in place. I take him from Mommy and walk him to the bathroom and sit him on the chair. Less than thirty seconds later, he goes in the potty. I’m starting to think Ava has magical powers because all she has to do is say something, and he follows.
As soon as he’s done and clean, we settle him down for bed, which takes a whole two minutes when Mommy does it. “Got him wrapped around your finger.”
“I told you before. I have a way with boys,” she sasses, swaying her hips as she leaves his room. She knows how much I can’t resist her, especially when she’s so inviting.
I growl and catch her before she can get away and cradle her in my arms. Before taking her to bed, I whisper, “You have a way with me, too.”
“Forever, Mr. Reynolds.”
Ava
Many Years Later
“No running,” I call out as the boys play in the pool. Lara and I have six kids a piece. Five boys and one girl each. Their girl was last, but we had our daughter two years after our oldest.
“Thanks for coming all the way out here,” Lara says as we lounge in our deck chairs. It’s Landon Jr.’s eighteenth birthday and he’ll be going to college soon, so Lara’s having a hard time with it. Tobias has to stay at the ranch another day, so we left without him. I miss my hubby so much, but I know he’ll be here tomorrow.
“Anything for you all. He needs to see his cousins anyway.”
“Yeah.”
“Mom, Auntie Ava, do you want another drink?” Landon Jr. asks.
“No. I don’t. I think I’ll go for a swim.” For as large as our ranch is, we don’t have a pool. It’s pointless with the short summer season. Besides, I don’t need Tobias to kill any of his employees for seeing me in a bikini. We save our swimming for the lake by the house and visits to Lara and Landon’s where they have a large pool with a diving board.
“Mom, watch me,” Graham says. He bounces lightly on the diving board before doing a cannonball into the pool. Some of his cousins get drenched and a loud chuckle comes from behind me. It’s one I know by heart. Tears fill my eyes as I turn around to see my husband standing there in just a grey tee and jeans. I jump into his arms and he crushes my lips with his.
“All these years and they still act like newlyweds,” Adam says. We pull away to look at our oldest who just turned fifteen.
“Forever, son.”
“It’s good to see you, dad. You got here fast.”
“I missed my woman and my number one ranch hand.”
“Thanks. So everything’s okay?”
“Yeah. John’s got his boys helping out.”
“Greyson’s there?” Emma says. She’s thirteen years old and has a serious crush on Greyson. It’s good that we got her away from them. She’s becoming more and more womanly every month that goes by. Emma already tests her father’s tolerance with her short shorts and yoga pants. He’s threatened every single employee and warned Greyson that
she’s too young.
“Yes he is.”
“Leave him alone, Emma. He’s too old for you,” Adam scolds her. The boys used to hang out, but ever since Emma started showing interest in Greyson, he stopped coming over. She thinks it’s because the boy doesn’t like her, but Tobias and I know damn well it’s because the poor boy isn’t unaffected by her. He’s eighteen now and leaves for college in a few weeks. She’s going to be heartbroken if he brings home a girlfriend one of these days.
“Shut up, Adam. I can’t help that I have a crush on him. He’s the only boy around. Anyways, I’m going back swimming. I have to keep in shape.”
“God, I wish she’d stay my little girl for a little longer. Why does she have to grow up on me?”
“Because that’s what children do.”
“I suppose,” he grumbles. Our other boys come running up to us and hug their daddy with their wet bodies.
“Did you see my cannonball, Dad?”
“Yes, buddy. It was epic. Now stop trying to give your mom a heart attack.” Tobias slips his arms around me, pulling my back to his chest and then whispers in my ear. “I swear if Landon wasn’t madly in love with my sister, I’d be a jealous bastard right now. That swimsuit looks too damn tight.”
“Maybe you could help me take it off,” I reply with a low whimper, swaying my hips with my ass rubbing his stiff cock. How he functions with that thing hard all the time still amazes me.
“My wife needs to change, please excuse us,” Tobias growls.
“We’ll keep an eye on the kids. Have fun helping her,” Landon says, winking at Tobias. Seconds later I find myself swept up into his arms as he carries me up to the guest bedroom. My sexy husband tosses me onto the bed and goes to lock the door. I let out a giggle and then moan as he slides his fingers into my hair and drops his mouth onto mine.
“You’re so lucky my suit’s not wet or Lara would be pissed about soaking the mattress.”
