I look at my brother Gunner bombarding his cougar with kisses as he grabs at her ass. I look at my new brother, Graham, content with the choice he has made to serve his country but will soon leave for training knowing he may be sacrificing a relationship that is just yet beginning to bud. I look at my wife carrying our child within her.
I realize I am everything I ever wanted to be—a soldier, a brother, a husband, and a father. Despite having to fire off the ol’ Cannon every now and then to protect the ones I love, I would like to think I turned out to be a good son. My adoptive dad would say I’m a fool, probably as much as he was—to be so many things to so many people. But then again, I come from a family that is Badass. My family is everything and I’m proud to say each and every one of us is all we can be.
