The Tattooed Bad Boy Page 6

by Shiewanie Kristo

“You guys good?” she asked, her voice getting a little high pitched out of happiness.

  I grinned. “Yeah, we’re good!”

The sudden sound of a door opening startled me. I turned around and looked at the doctor who had just entered the room. To be honest, he looked rather creepy. He wore these thick glasses that made his eyes seem bigger than they actually are. His face was rather square and a lot of pimples were also scattered over his face. He always wore this angry expression, which made it difficult to understand what was going around in his head. He looked like that guy from Up, but a lot creepier.

“You’re the brother, right?” he asked and Hunter nodded. The doctor cleared his throat as he looked at me. He raised his eyebrow in confusion, but didn’t say anything and instead, looked back at Hunter. “I’ll see you in my office whenever you’re free.” he said before he left.

Hunter looked at us and shrugged. “I guess I’ll go immediately then. I’ll be right back.” and with that, Hunter left too.

“That doctor creeps me out,” I faked a shudder as I sat down next to Blaze.

“I know! I’ve never seen him smile! Ever!” she gave me this unbelievable look. “He’s worse than Hunter.”

“Oh god, I can already see your brother glaring at you.” I commented, but she only shook her head with a chuckle.

“So, you’re going to be here more often, huh?” she gave me a knowing, teasing look.

I could feel my cheeks heating up. “So, about that...” she raised her eyebrow. “I live with Hunter now.” I said quickly. I doubted she understood a word I said, but when she gasped, I figured she did.

“Really? Oh my god!” her eyes were wide. “That bastard! He didn’t even tell me! Did he ask you to move in with him or something?”

I swallowed harshly, wondering whether I should tell her everything or not. I decided to subtly tell her. Not everything, but enough for her to get the context.

“I... kind of... got stabbed...” I said carefully, squinting my eyes, rather scared of her reaction.

Just when I thought her eyes couldn’t get any wider, she managed to prove me wrong. "What?" she breathed out. "When? How? Who the fuck stabbed you? Why?" she shot her questions at me and I did my best to calm her down. I gestured her to calm down and she eventually did.

"It was the day before yesterday. After I arrived at home, my abusive brother beat me up, asking about Hunter. I was shocked that he found out, but then again, it wasn't any new news. I was tired of everything he did to me, and I triggered him to kill me. He did make a move and he stabbed me. I was happy I was going to die, but then your words came into my head and I called Hunter. He came just in time and brought me to the hospital." I said and she calmed down a bit, sighing in relief.

"But, you're okay now, right? It's nothing serious anymore, right?" she started freaking out.

I smiled at her and took her hand in mine. "No, Blaze. I am perfectly fine now. The wound just has to heal." I said and she breathed out in relief once again.

"Where is your brother now?" she asked and I shrugged.

"I don't know. He fled once he stabbed me. He probably thinks that I'm dead now." I said and she blinked.

"For real?" she asked and I nodded. "That bitch." she swore and I chuckled.

Right then the door opened and Hunter walked in. Blaze and I looked at him with curious eyes. Hunter raised his hands and shoulders, giving us a skeptical look.

"What?" he asked and we giggled.

"Nothing. What did the doctor say?" I asked and he breathed out.

"Everything's fine. Don't worry." he said and we nodded.

Soon we started talking again and we didn't even realize that the time was flying by and visiting hours were over.

"Do we have any classes together today?" Hunter asked as I got off his stupid bike.

I never knew he had a bike and today he forced me to get on the bike, unless I wanted to walk to school. I had no other choice. I just gave in and hopped on the bike. It was the worst experience ever. I had a feeling that my hair was all over the place and I knew for a fact that I was right. I took off the helmet and styled my hair again. I got tired and just tied it in a messy ponytail. It's school anyways. Who cares about hair?

I thought about Hunter's question for a second. Hunter and I have three classes together in total. Physics, English, and History. Out of the three we have one today and that is History. I looked at him and grinned.

"History." I said and he breathed out in annoyance.

  "Fantastic." he said sarcastically.

I chuckled and was about to walk away, but then he grabbed me by my wrist. "You're not going anywhere." he said.

"But... I was going to say hi to Alyssa." I said.

He shook his head. "You have all your classes with her. You have the time to talk to her during classes, but you're staying by my side." he said and I groaned.

"Hunter, this is school, nothing can happen to me here." I said, hoping that he would allow me to go to Alyssa.

"I don't care, Zoe. You're staying by my side and that is it. I don't trust anyone. In fact, I don't even trust Alyssa." he said and I sighed.

It was fair for him. He didn't have any reason to trust anyone. Although this is school, anything can happen. He didn't trust Alyssa, but I did. Hunter did so much for me, the least I could do was listen to him. I sighed and stopped protesting against his decision. I just went to stand next to him and just looked around.

"And, Zoe..." he called me and I looked at him.

  "Yeah?"

"I'm not saying that you shouldn't listen to everything I say, but stop acting like a puppy. It's your life and you have your own decisions. I know you're used to obeying commands, since that was your life with Tony, but I am not Tony. You're seventeen, Zoe. You can make your own decisions.

As long as you're comfortable with what I ask, then it's all good." he said and I stared at him.

"Hunter, you know... You're very different..."

"What do you mean?" he frowned, but his expression soon turned into a flat look again.

"What I mean, is that I never knew you like this." I said. "Yes, I can make my own decisions, but you're right on this one." I said and he shook his head.

"You really are mental." he said and I chuckled.

  He really was different.

He doesn’t know what I mean; even I didn’t know what I meant. I just knew that he was not as everyone said he is. He’s way better. He’s not the cold-hearted person everyone thinks he is. It may seem like that on the outside, but on the inside, he was amazing and soft and caring.

A group of guys passing us pulled me out of my train of thoughts. One of the guys gave me a teasing smirk and shouted, "How does sucking Hunter his junk feel?"

My eyes grew wide, because now I just knew that nothing was going to go well.

"You son of a bitch!" I heard Hunter yell and the next thing I know was that punches and kicks were flying all over the place.

A group of students circled around then, filming what was happening. I heard a groan in pain and I snapped out of my trance.

Do something, Zoe! Stop being a coward!

"You motherfucker." I heard Hunter yell and a few of the students gasped.

  Hunter...

I ran through the students and saw the guy on the ground held by his collar by Hunter, who was punching him in his face non-stop. I gasped and ran over to Hunter, pulling him by his shoulder.

"Hunter! Please stop! For God's sake, just stop! Hunter please!" I pulled even harder. "Please... Hunter..." I breathed out as tears streamed down my face.

  Goddammit! Stop crying!

Hunter looked at me and froze for a second, staring at me. "Please, Hunter... Stop..." I cried.

Hunter looked at the guy and slowly let go of his collar, making him fall on the ground with a thud. The buzzer went off and all the students started disappearing. It surprised me how none of the teachers showed up.

  As soon as I thou
ght of that, the principal arrived, looked at the two guys, and then glared at Hunter.

"In my office, now!" She commanded.

"I heard Hunter fought with a guy this morning." Alyssa said and I swallowed.

"Yeah..." I said and Alyssa gave me a look. "You're not involved in this, right?" she frowned and I chuckled sheepishly. Alyssa her eyes grew wide. "What the fuck, Zoe! I did everything I could to keep Hunter away from you and you're involved in all this?" she said and I frowned.

"What do you mean you did everything to keep me away from Hunter?" I squinted my eyes at her and she suddenly got nervous. I stared at her. "What did you do, Alyssa?"

"It doesn't matter, right?" she grew nervous.

I glared at her. "What. Did. You. Do?"

"I kind of..." she licked her lips. "I kind of... Told your brother..." she said and I gasped.

  "You what?"

  Chapter Twelve

"Wait, what did you do!?" I looked at her in disbelief.

She didn’t say anything for a few seconds. “I told Tony about Hunter. Please don’t get mad at me, I was just really worried about you. What if Hunter did something to you?”

  Oh, Alyssa...

“You have no idea what you’ve done...” I felt defeated.

That’s how Tony always knew everything. I couldn’t be mad at her, she only wanted to best for me, but I couldn’t help but feel this kind of despise towards her. She unknowingly caused so many problems. Tears streamed down my face. Why? Why was life so cruel? I felt as if I couldn’t take it in anymore. I grabbed my bag and ran out of the classroom. I heard the teacher calling my name, but I didn’t care. The fact the she called him and told him about me and Hunter is just despicable. I still can't believe that. She's just believing rumors. Hunter is not like that, and it is so annoying how everybody has the wrong idea about us. People are just unbelievable. I sat down and placed my bag on the table, wondering what I ever did the universe wrong. I wish Hunter was here.

"Hey." I heard a voice behind me and I turned around.

I saw a guy smiling at me and I smiled back weakly. "Hi."

"Can I sit with you?" he asked and I nodded.

"Sure." I said and he took a seat, also placing his bag on the table.

He had fluffy brunette hair paired with beautiful green eyes. He had a few freckles spread across his somewhat square baby face.

"So, I'm Dylan." he extended his hand, asking me to shake it.

I looked at him. "I'm Zoe." I shook his hand. "So, are you new here? Because I haven't really seen you around here." I said as I let go of his hand.

He chuckled. "Yeah, I kinda am new to this whole town. We just moved here." he said and I nodded.

"So, Dylan, like the new town?" I asked, placing my elbow on the table. I rested my chin on the palm of my hand.

Dylan looked around. "I guess I do. You're the first person I've talked to, to be honest." he said and I smiled.

"Interesting." I nodded my head. "So, you have your schedule already?"

"Yeah, I do." he said and handed it over to me.

"Well, you're first year too!" I grinned. "You have a free period now?" I asked him and he nodded.

I have no idea how I was able to keep the conversation going. Hunter was right, do I ever shut up? Probably not. I have to keep people entertained, you know. Besides, Dylan seemed like a great guy, and of course, he deserves to be treated well. I looked at his schedule and I realized that I have most of my classes with him. This is fantastic, since I have most of my classes with Alyssa. That way I can avoid her and sit with Dylan. The sad thing is that I don't even feel bad for doing this with Alyssa. I know I might seem like a bad person for that, but I don't really care nymore. Even though she might have had good intentions on the whole telling Tony about Hunter thing, I still feel like she betrayed me somehow. Maybe this is not what I thought it was. Maybe she was jealous of me spending too much time with Hunter. Or maybe she was just a bit too overprotective, but then again, didn't she see how happy I was with Hunter?

"We have most of our classes together." I told Dylan and he smiled brightly.

"Well, at least I'll have good company." he shrugged and I chuckled.

I looked at his schedule again and realized that we have history together too. Well, that's interesting, since Hunter is going to be in the same class as us. I gave Dylan back his schedule and took out my phone out of my bag, just in case Hunter tries to contact me.

"So, you have a free period too?" he asked and I shook my head.

"No, I skipped." I said and he nodded.

"So, where did you move from?" I asked and he cleared his throat.

"From Florida." he said and I nodded.

"I'm really hungry. I'm gonna get myself some food. Do you want something?" I asked and he shook his head.

  "No, I'm good. Thanks."

I nodded and I walked over to the counter. I didn't like the school's food, to be honest, but I was very hungry. I wonder if Hunter was expelled. I hope not, because even though he might have been expelled, he will still stay at school, watching me. Damn, Hunter, people are going to think that you're a creep.

After buying a burger and a bottle of water, I walked back over to Dylan and sat down. I smiled at him as I started eating my food. It wasn't that bad, but it wasn't good either.

"Your phone was ringing." Dylan said and I stopped eating.

"Did you pick up?" I asked, taking another bite, and he shook his head.

I placed my food on the table and grabbed my phone. Yes, it was Hunter calling me. I rolled my eyes and called him back, placing the phone onto my right ear. He picked up after a few rings.

"What the fuck! I've been calling you for so long! Where were you!?" he yelled.

“Stop being so dramatic. It was just a few minutes ago and I was buying food. Food is important, you know." I said and Dylan chuckled.

Hunter let out a frustrated sigh and I raised my eyebrows. "Where are you now?" he asked and I sighed.

"The school's cafeteria." I said and he hung up.

I looked at the phone in my hand. "Well, goodbye to you too,” I scoffed at the phone and Dylan chuckled once again. I squinted my eyes at him. "You're enjoying this a lot, aren't you." I said and he shot me an amused look.

  Of course, he was.

Within a few minutes Hunter walked into the cafeteria and I caught him looking around, looking for me. Once he spotted me waving my hands at him like a lunatic, he rolled his eyes playfully and jogged over to me. "Why are you skipping class? I told you not to be alone." he gave me a deadly look and I scoffed at him.

"A 'hi' would be delightful, you disrespectful thing." I joked and he looked at Dylan.

"Hi." he said and looked at me again. He opened his mouth, but closed it again. His head turned back at Dylan and he gave him a look. "Who the fuck are you?"

Dylan was about to say something, but I cut him off. "He's my friend and I demand you to show some respect." I said and Hunter rolled his eyes.
