I need to calm down.
I blushed and looked to the floor when I noticed Hunter giving me a cocky smirk. Suddenly I felt self-conscious for some reason. I clenched my jaw and blinked a few times. Why was I feeling like this? I wasn't supposed to be shy or insecure around Hunter. Hunter is the one that chose me, but then again, I was the one who had a freaking crush on him. I felt a hand under my chin, lifting it. I looked at Hunter and he smiled warmly at me. An actual warm smile with care. No resting bitch face, no glare, and no smirk; just a warm, actual smile.
"You look gorgeous as always." he said and I grinned widely.
Before I could compliment him back, he threw his arm over my shoulder and dragged me out of the house. I giggled as he stopped me and then turned around to lock the door. Once that was done, he turned around and took my hand in his. He led me to his car, opening the door for me. I thanked him and sat into the car. He jogged over to his side and sat in the car. Once we were buckled up, Hunter started the car and started driving. I was really excited to see what Hunter was going to make of this.
"So, where are you taking me?" I asked and Hunter chuckled.
"You really don't think that I'll tell you, right?" he glanced at me for a second and then looked at the road again.
"But what if you kill me?" I tried to sound scared.
"Then you die. It's simple, Zoe." he rolled his eyes playfully.
I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest. He really wasn't going to tell me anything. I wanted to know. I didn't really like surprises, but somehow this did the work to keep me excited. Hunter was silent the whole time, while I just stared out the window, trying to figure out where he was bringing me. Unfortunately, that didn't help. I've never really been out of the house. The only route I knew was from my house to school and now from Hunter's house to the school.
I feel so stupid now. I wish I had the chance to at least be able to explore the town. That would really help me right now. Suddenly I felt Hunter pull over and I turned my head to look at him. I frowned at him when I realized that everything around us were trees. Hunter gave me a look and I felt myself getting suspicious. What if he really does kill me?
"We have to go a little further. I'll close your eyes." he said, gesturing to the large handkerchief in his hand.
I groaned, but he just glared at me and blindfolded me. I sighed and slumped in the seat. Well, might as well make myself comfortable. I heart Hunter chuckle."I swear, I can mistake you for a potato sometimes."
I laughed along with him. "So, you're bringing a potato on a date." I chuckled.
"What can I say? I have a thing for potatoes." he said and I started laughing once again.
He started driving again, and I felt myself smiling. I never thought that I would be this happy with Hunter. He is the most amazing person I have ever met. Aside from Blaze that is. After a few minutes of driving, the car finally stopped and I heard Hunter get out. I waited until I heard my door open and Hunter grabbed my hand gently. He helped me out the car and wrapped one arm around my waist. I heard him close the door and removed his hand from my waist while he kept holding my hand.
"We'll have to walk a bit." he said and I smiled.
"Okay."
He started walking and I just walked where he led me. I just hope that I don't trip over something. I squeezed Hunter's arm, trying to feel a bit safer. I mean, I don't want to break my neck now. After a minute or less of walking, Hunter finally stopped and let go of my hand. I heard footsteps behind me and I felt two arms wrap around me. I smiled when he rested his chin on my shoulder and kissed my cheek.
"I have been planning this for a while now. I really hope you like it." he said, removing his hands from my shoulder.
I felt him taking off my blindfold and I felt myself getting nervous again. Why was I even so nervous?
Although I wasn't blindfolded anymore, I still kept my eyes closed. I was so nervous. I felt Hunter his arms wrapping around me again. "Open your eyes, baby."
I smiled and slowly opened my eyes. As soon as my eyes opened, they grew wide. I felt myself grinning like an idiot. In front of me, was a picnic blanket with a basket on it, surrounded by red candles. Behind the blanket was a black tent with a soft looking sheet with pillows. I looked at Hunter and he grinned adorably. He looked like a kid who just walked into a candy shop. I completely turned around and without thinking, I wrapped my arms around his neck, hugging him tightly.
"Oh my gosh, Hunter! I fucking love it!" I grinned and he hugged me tighter.
"I'm happy you do." he nuzzled my neck. "Now, come on." he took my hand in his and started walking towards the picnic blanket. "I've worked hard on this." he chuckled.
We sat down and Hunter took out our food. To be honest, I was very surprised at what he did. I expected him to just bring me to a restaurant or something. This is something completely different. I stared at Hunter in awe as he placed a plate with food in front of me. I don't think he noticed that I was staring. He took out a plate of his own and served himself his food. Hunter looked at me and I awkwardly looked away, making him chuckle.
"You can stare. I know I'm hot." he took a bite of his food as I chuckled.
I didn't say anything. I wasn't going to deny. He was actually very, very hot. But then again, when isn't Hunter Adams looking hot? I shook my head and went to my food. The food was actually amazing and I wouldn't even question it if he told me that he made it. Hunter is a very good cook. I ate as I felt myself drifting into my thoughts once again. I really loved everything about Hunter. This really made me question one thing.
Was I falling for Hunter?
I smiled a bit and just continued eating my food. After eating our food, Hunter placed everything carefully in the basket again and placed the basket on the grass. We were surrounded by trees. It was like a very small field, surrounded with trees and covered with grass. I have no idea how he found out about this place. Hunter lay down and spread his arms, telling me to lie down too. I lay down next to him, resting my head on his chest while his arm was wrapped around my waist.
This was just perfect. Being in Hunter's arms was perfect.
Chapter Twenty
I stared at Hunter as he stared at the sky. I knew that he noticed me staring, but right now I don't care about that. Hunter smiled a bit to himself, making me grin even wider. The smallest things about Hunter were usually the best. Aside from his good looks, no one knows how amazing his eyes spark up when he's happy. The happy Hunter is finally showing himself. I know that Hunter isn't careful about his identity around me anymore, but somewhere I still feel like there is so much more behind him. I feel like there is so much more this guy isn't telling me.
I removed my gaze from Hunter and stared at the sky. The dark sky was glimmering with it's beautiful shining stars. The moon was so bright, it lit up Hunter his face even more. I suddenly started thinking of my parents and smiled. I know that they might be sad after what happened to me, but one thing I can say for sure. My parents are still proud of me. I've stayed the way they raised me. I've never been rude to people and I've always respected everyone; even Tony. I still don't know about Alyssa though.
"When I was a kid, my Mom used to bring me up the hill at the border of Anton and we would stargaze." I said out of nowhere. "She would always tell me about the amazing people in her life who were no longer part of this world," I blinked. "My Mom told me that when a loved one dies, they turn into a star and they look at you, probably protecting you. She told me that one day she would be gone too, and when that happens, I shouldn't be sad, because she's always here, looking at me. She is never really away from me."
I continued staring at the sky as I felt Hunter staring at me. "Your Mom must have been a wonderful person." he said.
I smiled and looked at him. "She was. She and my father were the best parents ever. Dad captured everything in his camera and that CD is the only thing I have left now. They always loved me no matter what. There was this one time this guy just pushed me while I
was walking home from school. I was just seven then. I had a few bruises here and there, so when I got home, my parents saw them and my dad went all bonkers." I chuckled. "He went to school the next day and threatened the poor boy that he would feed him to wolves if he ever dared to bully someone ever again." I shook my head as I thought back to that day.
Hunter chuckled and looked at the sky again. "Parents are like that, Zoe. They care a bit too much. So much, that they sometimes end up hurting themselves." Hunter said and I frowned.
That obviously has a meaning.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
Hunter chuckled, still now looking at me. "My parents were once the best parents too, Zoe. But after my dad found out about my mom cheating on him, everything just became different. My mom stated that she did it because she was scared to go crazy by having obnoxious kids, so she just looked for sexual satisfaction. I didn't really ever believe that, but that made Blaze the most insecure person ever. She started distancing herself from everyone. Even me, but I never let that happen. I was always there for her, since I promised to protect her no matter what." he looked at me.
"Hunter, you don't—"
"I know, Zoe." he cut me off. "I know I don't have to, but I want to. It feels good to finally be able to tell someone all of this," he looked at me. "It's true that I killed my parents, but that's not what's making me feel horrible. What makes me feel horrible is that I fucking enjoyed it." he clenched his jaw.
What?
"I fucking enjoyed killing them. The people who raised me; I killed them, and I enjoyed it. I know they started acting like monsters after talking about my Mom cheating, but that still makes me feel guilty as fuck. I enjoyed killing every person I ever killed. I enjoyed being part of the mafia, and that frustrates me. I don't want to be like this." he breathed out.
I placed my hand on his chest and looked at him. "Hunter, you're not like that anymore. I know that there is still a part of you that misses it, but you're not like that anymore. You're an amazing person, Hunter. I would have been dead by now if you weren't there to save me every time, since my stupid ass almost dies every time." I rolled my eyes and he laughed.
"I'll always be here." he said and I smiled at him.
"I know." I smiled and he wrapped both of his arms around me, pulling me onto him.
I giggled and suddenly his lips crashed against mine. My eyes grew wide, but I eventually closed them and started kissing back. This idiot just kisses me in the most random moments and I have no idea how I love all that. After a while of kissing, Hunter finally pulled away and smiled at me. I loved his smile. I can still remember the day I asked him if he ever smiles and his answer was that I apparently talk too much.
"I have to show you something." he said, making me frown.
Hunter sat up and so did I. Before I could take another step, Hunter picked me up bridal style, making me yelp. I quickly wrapped my arms around him and giggled as he shot me a smirk. This guy is just unbelievable. He started walking the opposite direction from the path we walked to the tent. I was more than confused now. Where was he taking me? Hunter walked for a few minutes and suddenly we were standing on a beach. The beach was dark, but the stars and the moon lit it up just perfectly. The blue water crashed onto the shore, leaving cold sensations behind. This was amazing.
"I know you've only seen a beach in your childhood, and nothing is really better than being at a beach at night. Well, at least for me that is." Hunter shrugged and I giggled.
"Hunter, this is beautiful." I looked at the sea again.
"I know, baby. I know." he said and made me stand on my own two feet again.
He took my hand in his and we smiled at each other. We walked to the sea and I smiled as the waves crashed against my feet. I had no idea that Anton had a beach. A beach this beautiful. I closed my eyes and felt the cold breeze blow through my hair. I couldn't even describe how happy I felt at this very moment. I felt arms wrap around me from behind and I smiled as I opened my eyes.
"I knew you would love it." he whispered in my ear, making goosebumps appear on my skin, but he obviously couldn't see it.
"I love it..." I breathed out in happiness. I really did love it.
"I've been waiting for this moment for weeks. I've been planning this for days, and I was actually lying when I said I wasn't ready. I said that because I was waiting for the perfect moment." his arms tightened around me. I felt myself growing nervous again. "So, Miss. Zoe Rainey," he turned me around. "Will you be my girlfriend?" he smiled at me and I swear I would have melted.
I stared at his hopeful eyes for a few seconds before grinning widely. "Yes... yes, I will..." I laughed.
He grinned widely and crashed his lips against mine. I wasted no time in wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him back. He pulled me even closer, if that was possible, and kissed even harder. I tangled my fingers in his hair as I released a moan. I was going to be known as Hunter Adams' girlfriend now, and somehow that made me feel satisfied. I never heard of any girl making it this far... But I did... I am Hunter his girlfriend now.
I felt like a fucking One Direction fangirl. I hate One Direction.
Hunter pulled away and rested his forehead against mine. All this time I thought that I wasn't ready, but the truth is that Hunter makes me feel like I am. I laughed as I stared at him. Nothing was funny. I just laughed out of happiness. So did Hunter. I closed my eyes, only to feel Hunter his lips crash against mine again.
This was the best date ever.

"So, you guys went on a date?" Dylan raised an excited eyebrow at me.
I blushed and nodded shyly. "Yes."
He grinned. "So are you guys together now?" he wiggled his eyebrows at me and I blushed even harder. "That seems like a fucking yes!" he exclaimed making me laugh. "Finally you two idiots are together." he said and I rolled my eyes.
"Sometimes you're really fucking annoying." Hunter said and sat down next to me.
Dylan rolled his eyes. "I know that." he said, making me chuckle.
Dylan was kind of my best friend now. I really didn't feel like I could trust Alyssa anymore. I have no idea if she was involved in all of this. I can't believe she actually did that. I looked at Hunter and thought about last night. I had so much fun last night. I can't even explain it. Hunter was now my boyfriend... It felt kind of weird and I have no idea why I feel like a stupid fangirl every time I think about us being together.
Hunter looked at me and smirked as if he just read my mind. I blushed and looked away, making Dylan laugh.
"I never saw her blush this much!" he laughed. I glared him and he rolled his eyes. "I'm going to get myself some food. Do you guys want anything?" he raised his eyebrows at us. I shook my head and he nodded and walked away.
Dylan walked back to the table and sat down with an annoyed look on his face. I frowned.
"What's wrong with your stupid ass?" Hunter asked before I could.
"It's just this stupid guy. He's annoying me." he huffed.
"How?" I raised my eyebrow.
"Uh..." I could sense him getting uncomfortable. "He's hitting and pushing me every time he sees me. He calls me Emo and gay." he scowled.
"Then just punch him in the fucking face." Hunter said with a shrug.
"I can't just do that." Dylan nervously fidgeted with his fingers.
I smiled at his innocence.
