“We all contributed to the successful removal of the gangs and a better way of life for all. So, I’m not complaining. Besides, I’ve got plans. I need to begin my journey,” said Youngblood.
“Journey? You’re ready?” asked Kira.
“I am. I’ve worked out the requirements for launching a spaceship with Loci running the controls under my verb direction. You know I’ve health issues and I must find people who can help me. I have high hopes for a better future in space.”
Kira said, “You’re not going anywhere without me.”
“Or me,” added Pyro.
If ever there was a man at a complete loss it was Youngblood. Their care and concern melted his heart.
He said, “I appreciate your feelings for me and that you want to help, but I’ve got to go on a dangerous journey to a completely unknown place. I can’t ask you to come with me. Both of you can still find a place for yourselves in Jamestown.”
With love in her eyes, Kira said, “My place is with you.”
She moved closer and put her arm around him. “I thought you knew that.”
He choked back his emotions.
Pyro added, “You need a doctor, but we’re orphans too.”

When the trio reached the underground spaceport, there was no mistaking the delight on Kira’s face, or the awe inspired curiosity on Pyro’s.
Pyro climbed aboard the small spaceship. Goldie barked and followed.
Kira looked radiant. The warmth of her smile filled Youngblood with expectation. His breathing quickened, and his pulse raced.
He asked, “Are you sure about this?”
“Yes! Oh, yes,” she said with all the passion he could have wished for.
He opened launch bay doors above the ship.
Kira followed his gaze and asked, “What will we find up there?”
Youngblood said, “A place to call home.”
