"Neve!" John cried as he caught her in his arms and embraced her tightly. "You're back… You've come back to me."
"Of course, John. I told you I would."
My own happiness at seeing the long parted couple reunited paled in comparison to the joy that radiated from Alexander as he watched his parents together for the first time in over twenty-five years.
Everyone filed into the Manor House as John introduced his wife to Shamus and Matt. I noticed a small figure sitting on a boulder in the rock garden that surrounded the house. I dropped back behind the rest of the group.
The door closed behind the others as I slipped over to speak with the Leprechaun.
"The young man with the spectacles told me you were in Faery," Gobban said.
"Aye, we were there."
"Dagnabbit! What did you do?"
So many things had happened in the short time we were away that my mind raced, trying to connect the events with the angry expression on Gobban's face. I shrugged, not understanding what he was getting at.
"We have company," he said.
