by Laird Barron
Jennifer Lockhart, for being there for me no matter how crazy my ideas might seem at the time, and the voice of reason in my crazy world.
Justin Steele, for keeping a constant finger on the pulse of Weird Fiction.
Scott R. Jones, for helping establish the visual aesthetic of Word Horde and for continually coming up with alternatives when I complain that a typeface “isn’t quite right yet.”
Shannon Page, for copy editing this (and other) Word Horde books. Thanks for making me look good!
Jan Frost, for being “Crazy Aunt Jan,” a wonderful neighbor for many years, and the best Realtor in town.
Randall Ingalls, for being a resonant sounding board.
Raymond Lawrason, Amber-Rose Reed, and Grace Bogart, for all you’ve done in getting Word Horde books into the hands of readers.
Gwen Calahan, Brian Calahan, and Aaron Vanek for inviting me to be a part of the H. P. Lovecraft Film Festival/CthulhuCon community, and making me feel welcome, even though my “movies” take place on pages instead of a screen (for now). Mike Davis, Joe Pulver, Kelly Young, Jordan Krall, Arthur Graham, and Shamus McCarty for publishing my weird fiction.
All of Word Horde’s authors, in this book and others, who represent one seriously kick-ass assemblage of talented individuals. You rock!
And everyone who has asked me when the next volume of The Book of Cthulhu is coming. Needless to say, this one’s for you.
