  Ways for you to be an Earth Angel.

  Use energy efficient appliances and light bulbs.

  Turn off computers, Tv’s and other appliances when not in use.

  Buy foods and items in eco friendly packaging.

  Always recycle as much as possible.

  Use cloth diapers when possible.

  Air dry clothes.

  Use less paper napkins when dining out and use washable napkins at home.

  Minimize stationary waste by using both sides of paper.

  Use a whiteboard or chalkboard instead of paper notes at home.

  Recycle newspapers and magazines.

  Use reusable bottles instead of disposable.

  Plant trees in your garden. Tree shade on your house helps reduce your AC usage too.

  Save gas by using cruise control on your vehicle when possible.

  Use reusable gift bags instead of wrapping paper.

  Try to buy used items instead of new. Vintage items are generally made to last, that’s why they are still around.

  Buy local produce and products to minimize your gas usage and suppliers’ gas too.

  Adjust the thermostat in your home, it will save you money also. using a timer so, it isn’t on while you are out, will also save you money.

  Use a travel mug instead of using coffee chain paper cups. Some companies may give you a discount for doing so.

  Run your errands in a batch to save your gas and time.

  Turn lights off when you leave a room.

  Use solar lights in your garden and home.

  Don’t use lots of water to pre-rinse dishes.

  2,500 gallons of water is used to produce a single pound of beef. So, have a vegetarian day when possible.

  Try to wash laundry in full loads on a warm or cool setting.

  Use reusable water bottles to help prevent plastic waste in our oceans.

  Take a shower instead of a bath.

  Share a shower with your partner.

  Shorten the length of your shower.

  Don’t leave taps running when brushing your teeth.

  Water your garden at night to prevent quick evaporation.

  Use a watering can to spot water plants and areas.

  Use vinegar to kill weeds instead of pesticides, which kill wildlife and poison our earth.

  Compost your kitchen waste to save you money and create organic fertilizer for your garden.

  Recycle your old cell phone as cell phone batteries leak acid into the soil at waste dump sites.

  Keep your cars performance up and check your emissions on a regular basis.

  Always recycle your cans. Less energy is used to recycle than to make new cans.

  Use paper matches instead of lighters. Paper matches are made from recycled paper.

  Don’t throw away anything that could be used by another. Advertise it as FREE locally and online.

  Save water by using a car wash service. They use minimal water and emissions.

  Use cloth shopping bags instead of plastic.

  Take advantage of e-tickets instead of printing them out.

  Instead of buying discs, download the program, music or movie.

  In the winter try to buy a pet-safe, non-chemical de-icer for your needs. They don’t contain the harmful chemicals.

  Use biodegradable cotton buds/cue tips instead of plastic.

  Cancel paper bank statements and paper bills, so you can do it online and save paper.

  Buy and use rechargeable batteries.

  Empty the lint filter on your dryer after every use. Your machine will work more efficiently saving you money. Plus reduce the fire hazard. You can also safely save the lint, to use as a fire starter in the winter, for your log fire if you have one.

  If you have a cat, why not try a biodegradable, flushable kind of litter.

  When buying fish, try to buy a fish that was wild caught.

  Going somewhere local? Take a nice walk or blow the cobwebs off your bike.

  If you’re a student, why not share a load of washing at college.

  Plant wild flowers in your garden to encourage bees and butterflies.

  Recycle your vehicle oil, by taking it to your nearby recycling center or gas station.

  Buy and use a low-phosphate or non-phosphate washing-up liquid and laundry detergent. Phosphates encourage algae growth which removes the oxygen from water, which in turn, kills the water wildlife.

  Try and buy organic foods.

  Ride share with people you work with.

  Save left over food for meals and store in your freezer.

  Use crushed eggshells and used coffee grounds to feed your planets.

  Insulate your house to save you money.

  Use solar power when possible.

  Grow your own food produce.

  Use public transport when you can.

  Let your hair air dry instead of using a dryer.

  Join local wildlife groups.

  Support global animal organizations.

  Join litter a clean-up group.

  Collect rainwater off your roof for watering your garden on dry days.

  Grow plants in your garden which don't need a lot of water.

  Keep blinds and curtains closed during hot and sunny days to keep your home cooler, so you don't use your AC as much.

  Buy food items in cardboard packaging instead of plastic.
