Capital Lies (Their First Lady Book 3) Page 3

I bit my lip, trying to keep from coming. My moans of pleasure and gasps of pain came out in muffled grunts as I tried to hold it in.

“Fuck,” Cal growled as he emptied himself into me.

He collapsed on top of me. Our ragged breaths were the only thing I could hear.

He pulled out of me and I flinched. I already felt sore and I was aching for release. He lightly smacked my clit and I almost screamed.

“You’re such a good girl,” he said, looking at the window. “We’re almost there. Just wait till I get you upstairs.”

I had just finished tucking myself back into my dress and adjusting my hair when we pulled to a stop at the curb of the new hotel. Our driver may have known what was happening, but I didn’t need everyone seeing me looking like I’d just been fucked.

  “We’re here.”

I stepped out of the limo and walked on shaky legs and with a sex-hazed mind, carefully taking my steps as gracefully as I could. The chill of the night made my skin steam.

I’m sure the lobby was positively grand, but we snuck in the back door with Secret Service escorting us.

Cal led me to an elevator and used a key to access the penthouse. As soon as the metal doors slid shut, he was all over me. He kissed me and ran his hands up and down my body.

“I’m going to make you come over and over again, Mrs. James,” he whispered in my ear.

My eyes went wide, and I shot a look at the agent standing in front of the doors. He didn’t even look at us in the reflection of shiny doors. I had to admit, those words sounded like heaven from his mouth, but there was someone in the elevator with us. “Cal,” I said, darting my eyes over to the agent again and pulling away slightly from his embrace.

“They’re going to be around for a long time now. You’re just going to have to get used to them being here,” he replied, completely unfazed.

Once the elevator reached the top floor and the doors slid back open, Cal swept me up into his arms.

“What are you doing?” I laughed.

“Carrying my bride over the threshold, of course.”

I smiled and draped my arms around his neck as he walked out of the elevator and directly into the suite.

The penthouse always lived up to its expectations. The foyer gave way to a spacious living room with two leather couches and a fireplace, but I only caught the briefest of glances at it as Cal whisked me into the luxurious bedroom.

There was another marble fireplace in the bedroom and a massive bed toward the center of the room.

I smelled the sweet and earthy scent of the flowers before I saw them. Tucked in nearly every corner of the room were replicas of the flowers from our wedding.

Cal set me down and slowly started to unbutton his shirt as I moved toward the fireplace. Situated on the table between two plush armchairs was a mini version of our wedding cake.

I shook my head as I stared at the cake, and then I laughed. “How did you know? I barely got to touch our cake at the reception. And it was to die for. It’s like you knew. And you got me my own . . .”

Cal knew me so well. It wasn’t that he knew I loved cake. Anyone who had seen me near one knew that. It was that he knew I would be wishing I had more. That I was looking forward to that cake, and that I just didn’t get much of it. There was so much going on. We were getting pulled in twenty different directions. But he knew me well enough to say that I would feel a little sad later that I didn’t get enough of that delicious cake. And he was thoughtful enough to go that extra mile to get me a little version of it. He was so good to me, and there I was, keeping an enormous secret from him. He didn’t deserve that.

Cal came up behind me and placed a hand on my shoulder. I jumped at his touch. I was so wrapped up in my guilt that I hadn’t even sensed him coming over.

“What’s wrong?” He placed kisses along my neck and held me in his arms.

  “Nothing,” I lied.

  “You’re so tense.”

“It’s just been such a big day. That’s all.”

I turned around in his arms and found him shirtless with a furrowed brow.

“Why do I feel like you’re lying, Tessa?”

“Probably because I’m not usually like this.” I bit at my bottom lip and then thought better of it. “It’s just been a long and eventful day. Normally you are the center of attention, but today I was in the spotlight. It’s a lot for a girl to take in.”

Cal tugged at the few loose curls that had escaped my hairdo and pulled me closer to him to kiss me.

His tongue probed into my mouth and massaged my own.

“Now you are the center of my attention,” he said. “And you still have a lot to take in.”

He reached behind me as he kissed me again and slowly lowered the zipper on the back of my wedding dress.

Once he was done, he took a step back and gently pushed the dress down over my breasts and it fell to the floor. I wasn’t wearing anything underneath, and I had done that just for him, knowing he would like it. He took a step back to admire me.

“So fucking beautiful,” he said as he walked behind me. Cal slid a silky black blindfold over my eyes. “I want you to come as many times as possible on your first night as Mrs. James. Those are your orders for the evening.”

My mouth may have gone dry, but my sex grew slick.

Before I could react, Cal swept me up into his arms and carried me to the bed. He stretched me out on the soft blankets and spread my legs exposing me to him. He’d seen me before plenty of times, but there was something different about it when I couldn’t see him, and I could feel my heart rate pick up.

Slowly, teasingly, he ran his hands up and down my thighs. After not being allowed to come in the limo, every touch felt magnified times ten.

  “Cal, please.”

Instead of an answer, I got the sound of a device being switched on followed by a distinct and familiar humming sound.

I panicked and shut my legs closed. If Cal brought that wand to my clit for even a second, I was going to come. And hard. There would be no hiding it from him.

“Tessa, what did I say? As many times as possible. Come when you want.”

My legs trembled, quivering at the mere thought of how quickly I would come undone once it touched me. I yearned for it, and I was hesitant all in one. I let my legs fall back open, unable to draw it out anymore. Cal brought the wand to my aching clit at a slow speed. The vibration felt so good I nearly screamed out right, but I gave secret service a fleeting thought. I bit my lip and instead the sound came out muffled.

Would they be able to hear me?

That worry disappeared when he turned the wand up a notch. I cried out as I bucked my hips against it wanting more. The rapid vibration brought me closer and closer to the edge as Cal squeezed my nipple with his free hand. The blindfold intensified each feeling.

“Oh god, I’m going to come.” Even though he’d already given me permission, I wanted it again.

Cal’s hand left my breast to plunge a long finger deep inside me, twisting it to press on my G-spot. “Then come, Tessa.”

He turned the wand on high and I clenched down on his finger as my legs shook in ecstasy. I screamed as my release filled his hand.

“Was that worth waiting for?” Cal asked.

“Yes.” I was still writhing on the bed. “I want more.”

I scarcely had time to finish my sentence when Cal’s weight shifted on the bed. I felt him position himself between my legs, using the tip of his cock to tease my opening.

I brought my hips up to meet him and guide him inside. He fit snugly, perfectly. The sensation of being full was almost enough for me. I worked my hips in a circle up off the bed while keeping him inside and Cal stayed still for a few long moments letting me fuck myself on him. He reached down, stroking my clit with his thumb.

Cal suddenly stopped and pulled himself out. I whimpered at the loss of my rising climax. He grabbed my hips and turned them, urging me to flip over. I instantly obliged, positioning m
yself on all fours, my eyes still covered with the silk blindfold.

I felt his fingers thread through my hair, and he tightened his hold, then pressed my head down into the bed. His other hand gripped my hip, roughly adjusting them to where he needed me to be. I felt his hand let go, and he slid his cock over my wet slit, pushing against it. He grabbed my hip again, and I didn’t even have time to catch my breath before he pounded into me.

My blindfold slid down my face as my face slid against the sheets with each powerful thrust. Cal’s fistful of my hair held me firmly down.

“Your pussy is so wet,” he growled. He yanked on my hair, pulling my head up. “Who are you wet for?” he asked.

“I’m wet for you,” I choked out, and he pressed my face down again.

Cal slapped my ass and I gasped, tightening around him in a spasm of pain and pleasure. He palmed the reddened area, soothing the sting. Then he slapped it again.

“Fuck me harder,” I said, a throaty moaning sound coming out of my mouth.

Cal thrust into me so hard it almost hurt. The tender skin he has spanked was tingling as he cracked his hand over it again. Between Cal’s grunts, the sound of our bodies slapping together, and the way his cock slammed into me, I couldn’t take it. I reached my hand between my legs and rubbed my clit in quick circles. I bit down on the sheets and screamed as I clenched around him, coming hard and fast.

  “Good girl,” Cal panted.

But he didn’t stop. He somehow still had the energy to keep fucking me. He somehow had the stamina to not come himself.

  “Come again,” he ordered.

I heard the low, vibrating sound as he reached around me. My swollen clit twitched in anticipation as I tried to squirm away from him. He slowed down his pace and put the wand to that sensitive bud, rubbing it gently back and forth. I moaned, feeling another orgasm build up.

“I told you to come again,” he growled in my ear.

In a swift motion, he pressed my legs together, securing the wand between my thighs. I yelped as he thrust into me and then turned the wand on high. I couldn’t get away from the rapid vibrating speed pressed to my clit. He pounded into my pussy and all I could do was scream as I came, flooding around him, pouring onto the wand, onto the bed. Primal, guttural sounds came from deep in my core. I clawed the sheets. Tiny dots of lights exploded behind my eyes. Over and over, I rode out each orgasm, one after the other.

  Chapter 4

Married life wasn’t much different from dating life though I hadn’t had much time to get used to either if I really got down to it. If I focused on it too much, it was surreal, and that was harder to process.

We all sat around the dinner table. The whole house smelled of Christmas. Spices, candy, pastry dough, sugar cookies, and roasted meats. It was as intoxicating as six shots of tequila and gave you the same happy, goofy feeling without any of the guilt. I didn’t even feel guilt for eating a dozen cookies myself.

“I’m so full,” Luca said as he patted his belly.

“I could eat more ham,” Giovanni said.

Even though every one of us had cleaned our plates, there were still mountains of food left.

All four of my brothers wore matching ugly Christmas sweaters. They claimed it was just to be festive and in-the-spirit, but I think they did it to confuse Cal. He wouldn’t admit it, but he still had a hard time telling them apart, especially the twins.

I checked the time on my phone.

“Let me help you clear the table, Mama.”

I pushed back from my chair to reach across the table and to collect Antonio’s plate.

“Hey, who said I was done?” he complained and tugged his plate that was in my hand.

“You ate half a ham. I think it’s safe to say you’re done.” I tugged it back.

  “Well, I’m not.”

“Okay, okay,” my mother interjected. “It’s Christmas, and everyone can eat as much as they want.” She turned to me and Cal. “Don’t you two have company coming over? You should be leaving soon.”

“Way to kick us out, Ma,” I said.

She moved around the table, her new diamond bracelet catching the light as she collected my father’s plate.

“No one is kicking anyone out, but you two are married now and have your own traditions to start.”

“Though we are grateful for the time you’ve spent with us,” my father added. Christmas was one of the rare times he wasn’t in a suit. He wore a thin green sweater that complimented the red sweater my mother wore.

“Well, yes. You’ll start new traditions that will take place after our family dinner,” she amended.

We did manage to still fit in all my family’s Christmas activities while still spending time with Cal’s family too. We spent Christmas Eve upstate with his parents. We figured we could spend the night up there and be with them Christmas morning. We’d had a wonderful, low-key breakfast casserole and comfortable conversation. It was refreshing, in a way.

Then we drove out to my parents’ house for more food, and a slightly more hectic environment. It was the perfect day. But we were ending the night with Preston coming over.

It made sense that we’d see him. They were going to be in the White House together. They were best friends. Not to mention the fact that he kept his distance from his family. We didn’t want him to be alone.

But it left me slightly jittery. Not because I didn’t want to see him. But because I wanted to see him too much. We’d kept our distance since the wedding. Cal saw him all the time. Their relationship had basically become one long meeting, but I wasn’t around for them.

It was too hard to want him so badly when I was someone else’s wife. I wasn’t willing to admit how many times my hands had found their way between my legs when I thought of him. I didn’t know how to be around him anymore.

As we moved to the door with our haul of gifts and wrapped up cookies, my father pulled Cal aside. I was hugging my brothers and my mother and didn’t hear what they were whispering about, but it had me on alert.

The ever-present secret service helped us into the waiting car and then we finally headed home. As soon as the door was shut, I turned to Cal.

“What was my father talking to you about?”

“Hmm?” Cal asked as he scrolled through his phone.

Seeing him talk to my dad made me realize I wanted to be the one to tell him about the election. If my father had fixed things so he would win, he should hear it from me, not anyone else. I couldn’t even fathom how that could be done, but when I thought about it, I supposed you just had to know the right people. And my father certainly knew a lot of people.

“You and my dad. What were you talking about?”

He hardly looked up from his phone. “Oh, nothing really. A business thing. I said it could wait.” More and more, his phone was glued to his hand. I figured it was something I’d have to get used to. He was heavily occupied with whatever emails had come in and I decided to let it go.

I rested my head back as we drove home, sitting in comfortable silence as I closed my eyes. When we walked into our building, the doorman informed us that our guest had already arrived and was waiting for us upstairs. My stomach tightened at the thought, but I couldn’t have been sure if it was from nerves or all the food I’d eaten.

“Have you had a Merry Christmas, Mrs. James?” Cal asked as we rode the private elevator to the penthouse floor.

“Yes.” I answered him as thoughtfully as I could, but my mind was preoccupied with other dangerous thoughts.

“And I didn’t even give you my present yet.”

I wasn’t sure if I stopped breathing for a moment or not. A secret part of me just hoped it was another night, just the three of us. But what if it wasn’t? The last thing I wanted to do was give that away and have him thoroughly against it.

Before I could respond, the doors opened into the foyer and Preston was the first thing I saw.

He was leaning against a table, wearing a black crew neck sweater
and jeans. His arms were crossed, showing off his biceps through the thin cashmere sweater. His body language was relaxed, and I took that as a good sign. He looked up at us and smiled.

We walked into the apartment and I went to him and hugged him without thinking.

“Merry Christmas, Preston,” I said, trying to hide the emotion threatening to escape me.

“Merry Christmas, Tessa,” he said, releasing me from the embrace and looking to Cal as they greeted each other.

“Come on in,” I said, gesturing for them to join me in the living room. I’d gone a little overboard with the decorations. We had a massive tree in the center of the room. I’d trimmed it in red, green, and silver. I’d strung lighted garlands around the fireplace, the bar, and all the doorways, and I’d placed countless other Christmas runners and knickknacks on shelves and tables.

“Someone loves nutcrackers,” Preston said, his eyes widening as he took in my holiday decor. “And snow globes. And . . . Christmas.”

“Um, who doesn’t love Christmas?” I asked, fully ready to defend my style.

“Lots of people. Maybe someone that was traumatized my nutcrackers as a child. They’re creepy looking. Look at that one,” he said, pointing to a spectacular Russian nutcracker I’d had since childhood. “He looks like he’s going to murder you in your sleep. And that one over there? It’s a demented Scottish Santa. He looks possessed.”

I glared at him in mock anger. “Shut up and sit down.” He grinned that grin that made my knees weak and he winked at me. “I’ll get us something to drink. I’ll be right back,” I said, looking to Cal and smiling.

The second I left the two of them alone they started talking business, but I didn’t pay attention. I didn’t want to. I was just happy that it was going well. The tension I’d grown used to just wasn’t there.

“Brandy, whiskey, or rum?” I yelled, waiting for their answers to be yelled in return.

I poured the eggnog and stirred in the liquor of choice, finishing off the top with a touch of nutmeg. In my book, brandy was the only acceptable mix for eggnog, and no one could convince me otherwise. It melted into the creaminess of it and made it truly delicious. I carried them out on a small tray and sat down.
