Alden and Caton were dressed just like the others, and as her five mates stood there waiting on her, she felt her cheeks blush. A wave of excitement, appreciation, and pride filled her belly.
“What?” Kedar asked as he brushed by Saxton. He still had a little bit of an attitude toward Saxton, but it would be cleared up soon enough.
“You all look incredible.”
They smiled and Caton walked over and pulled her into his arms. “I was going to say the same thing about you, love.” He kissed her softly and then released her to Alden.
“I am really going to enjoy removing this dress later on. Someone said you’re going braless.” He cupped her breast and she swatted his hand only for him to pull her against his chest and kiss her.
“We’ll never get out of here and we can’t be late.”
“No, we definitely cannot,” Tango teased as he took her hand, brought it to his lips and kissed it. “Although I don’t think it can start without the Goddess of unity present.”
She smiled.
“Let’s go.”

Everyone was present for the event. All of the elders, the royal family, the princesses, and anyone else of importance to the Were packs.
As the ceremony began, Maya took position between Ariella, Batya, and Kamea.
“As I welcome all of you to my estate, it is with a heart filled with joy and accomplishment. The gods and Goddesses have led each of us to this point in time. The circle of elders and all its members will remain as leaders and protectors of Were law unless otherwise questioned by myself or the three Goddesses of the Security Ring.
“These three Goddesses represent everything our people and our packs stand for. We walk this earth, as well as other realms with the spirit of nature and of love that binds us to our mates and our packs and as a unit under the eyes of the Goddesses. May I introduce again, Batya, Goddess of Were, Ariella, Goddess of love and Maya, Goddess of unity. Together they join me in guarding the members of the circle along with many other organizations mixed among the humans.
“It is at this time, before each and every one of you, that I introduce the final two members of the circle of elders, the leaders of this organization. Saxton and Tango, please step forward.”
The crowd cheered and so did Maya as she looked at both men, knowing that they had risked so much and given up a large part of their lives to secure Kamea’s safety.
The ceremony continued as Saxton and Tango were sworn in and then took position alongside Kamea. She hugged them both, and then they looked at Maya and winked.
“Now, let us celebrate, for we are blessed with the presence of all our warriors both in were and public realm. Enjoy the night, and for those of you staying on for the weekend, my home is your home.” Kamea lifted her glass and they all cheered.

Maya spent most of the night meeting the elders and socializing with other leaders. She caught sight of Kedar leaning against the wall looking displeased. Then she followed his line of sight and saw him staring at Saxton. She wondered if he could feel jealous about Saxton and Tango’s new positions. However, Kedar didn’t seem upset with Tango at all. She excused herself from conversation and made her way toward Kedar. His eyes were locked onto Saxton as Saxton spoke with Charity.
“Kedar, is everything okay?” she asked, as she took his hand and brought his fingers to her lips. He snapped out of his daze and looked down at her.
He smiled. “It’s an amazing night. So much has happened. Our lives are going to change.” He brought her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles in return.
She watched him and his eyes went back toward Saxton.
“Can I ask you something?”
He looked at her. “Yes, of course, Maya.”
“Are you upset about Saxton and Tango’s new positions?”
He took a deep breath and released it. “I wouldn’t say upset, as much as I would say concerned.”
“Concerned? Why?” she asked.
“Perhaps I could clear things up.” Maya and Saxton both turned toward Kamea as she stood with one of her mates, Julius. Julius bowed and then walked away.
“Goddess, you look beautiful this evening. Everything is so nice,” Kedar told her.
Kamea smiled. “I overheard your conversation with Maya, and I couldn’t help but notice your quietness, Kedar. From my understanding you are more outgoing. I felt compelled to come over and explain something to you about Saxton.”
“Oh, that’s not necessary, Kamea. I know that the gods and Goddesses choose our fates.”
“That is true, but I feel that Saxton should have explained to you exactly what my father had asked of him.”
“Your father?”
“Yes, my father knew that there were men involved with the Brothers of Were who were planning on betraying the packs. There was a list of certain powerful opposition with their eyes set on a takeover. Saxton was asked to go in undercover, and infiltrate a crew of betrayers. In doing so he found out that a certain political figure was supporting the production of a scientific formula that could force Were to mate.”
“What? You don’t mean Dr. Henry Lesting?”
“Yes. His associates, the ones you felt were murdered so viciously, were actually the ones responsible for killing Alex Preston.”
“Samantha’s Alex?” he asked.
“Yes. Saxton risked his life and his future for my father, for me, and for the Were packs around the world. Frederic was involved with Henry Lesting as well, but no one knew that at the time. We discovered later, or should I say, Samantha discovered later that her mother had been injected with the formula. It worked and she remained with Frederick, but the child was Al’s. Alex and Ted understood that. The formula was a beginning stage, by Frederick. So when Saxton committed what you thought were hideous crimes against innocent men and some women, he was saving all our lives, and especially Samantha’s and Lord Crespin’s. There are so many people, Weres who are doing their part to secure our people. Saxton and Tango belong at the top if the circle. They have proven their loyalties, don’t you think?” Kamea asked as she touched Kedar’s arm.
“Yes, Goddess. Thank you for trusting me with this information.”
She looked at Maya, and Maya smiled.
“You have proved your loyalties as well, Kedar. That is why you and your brothers will continue your work in the public sector, blending in, and cutting off potential problems before they turn into anything like what we all just experienced. Now, enjoy the night.”
Kedar bowed and as Maya watched Kamea go, Kadar pulled her into his arms and hugged her. He whispered against her ear.
“You knew all about this, didn’t you?”
She chuckled as he tickled her until Saxton came over.
“Hey, is everything all right?” he asked.
Kedar smiled wide. “Everything is perfect, brother. We are blessed by the Goddess of unity, hold positions that we are meant to hold, and enjoying a weekend in paradise with our mate. What more could we ask for?” Maya smiled as Saxton seemed touched by Kedar calling him brother. Saxton clasped Kedar’s shoulder and pulled him into a hug and then winked at Maya.
“And what would the Goddess like to do next?”
“Dance a little, drink a little, and then take my mates back to the villa to play for the rest of the weekend.” She started to wiggle her way toward the dance floor when her other mates approached. The song was something the group of them could dance to and Maya enjoyed being in the center with her mates surrounding her.
As she attempted her version of a hula dance, she lowered her upper body, showing her men the deep cleavage of her breasts as the tropical music echoed off the ocean waves.
Life could only get better. And with her mates by her side, anything was possible.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
People seem to be more interested in my name than where I get my ideas for my stories fro
m. So I might as well share the story behind my name with all my readers.
My momma was born and raised in New Orleans. At the age of twenty, she met and fell in love with an Irishman named Patrick Riley Dwyer. Needless to say, the family was a bit taken aback by this as they hoped she would marry a family friend. It was a modern day arranged marriage kind of thing and my momma downright refused.
Being that my momma’s families were descendants of the original English speaking Southerners, they wanted the family blood line to stay pure. They were wealthy and my father’s family was poor.
Despite attempts by my grandpapa to make Patrick leave and destroy the love between them, my parents married. They recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
I am one of six children born to Patrick and Lynn Dwyer. I am a combination of both Irish and a true Southern belle. With a name like Dixie Lynn Dwyer it’s no wonder why people are curious about my name.
Just as my parents had a love story of their own, I grew up intrigued by the lifestyles of others. My imagination as well as my need to stray from the straight and narrow made me into the woman I am today.
