Dreaming in the Dark: Chains of the Fallen Volume 1 (Soul Force Saga Book 4) Page 32

by James E. Wisher

He turned his head to the right and glared at the black-feathered wings sprouting from his back, as if he were some crude demon who’d found the light. With a snap of his back muscles the wings moved out of his sight.

A moment of concentration and his body shimmered and shrank, his eight-foot-tall frame reduced and in seconds he appeared as nothing more than a normal human, though anyone capable of sensing his inner strength would know otherwise.

He closed his hands and reached out to his many followers on this world. Cut off from the limitless power of Heaven he felt so weak. After far longer than it should have taken he’d delivered a message to all his people. They would prepare the way for him.

With that done he turned north and east. The Throne of Chains called to him. It was time to bring order to this world.
