  Jamaica

K: Babe, you need to get to the hospital.

  Me: What’s wrong? You ok?

K: Yea. Zahra blasted Kruz in front of Rhythm about them sleeping together and it’s a mess.

Me: A’ight. I’ll be there shortly.

I dropped my girl off earlier to visit her sister and newborn niece. I planned on going in too because it’s my boys’ baby but other things had to be taken care of. Such as me walking into this restaurant to meet up with Kandy. I’m not going to re kindle no flame or have sex. I’m good with my girl and I’m not tryna lose her again.

“What’s the deal? You tryna send yo new nigga after me?” I blurted out the second we made eye contact. She had a seat in the back of the place. It wasn’t packed and the few people there seemed to be in their own world.

  “Have a seat Jamaica.”

  “I’m good standing.”

“Suit yourself.” She picked her fork up and continued eating as if my presence meant nothing. I knocked everything off the table, snatched her up by the shirt and pushed her against the wall.

“You know I’m not into games.”

“Jamaica please let me go.” She attempted to pry my hands off but it was no use because my grip was tight.

“Tell me what you got planned with him.”

“How can I when you have me against the wall?” I released my grip and slammed her hard in the chair.

“Are you ok?” Some woman walked over being nosy.

“Mind your business.” She backed away.

“Jamaica, I think you should rethink the divorce. I mean you have much to lose.” I gave her a crazy look.

“I ain’t got shit to lose. You on the other hand are playing a dangerous game.”

“Kalila Bell isn’t worth losing?” I put my gun under her chin and my knee in her stomach. I don’t give a fuck about her claiming to be being pregnant. It ain’t my motherfucking kid.

“What did you do?” She smiled and put her hand on top of mine.

  “You think I’m playing?”

  POW!

“OH MY GOD!” She screamed. I shot her foot and put the gun back under her chin. People were running out the place.

  “Let’s try this again.

“I didn’t do it. He did.”

  “Speak.”

“The guy I’m messing with said I couldn’t divorce you because my name attached to yours, held a lot of weight.”

  “You’re not making any sense.”

“All I know is he’s aware of you putting a gun under my chin.”

“Because you told him, not that I care. What does that have to do with anything?”

“He found out about the woman you’ve been with and at this very moment sent someone to find her.” I pushed myself off her and backed away.

“What the fuck you mean?” She tried to nurse her foot that was bleeding profusely but I smacked her hand away.

“One of the guys you have working for you is his cousin and he’s looking for her.” I smacked the fuck outta her dumb ass.

  “This is all your fault.”

  “Jamaica, I…”

“Bitch don’t say a fucking word and you need to pray nothing happens to my girl because if it does, I promise I’ll be back for you.” I walked out the restaurant and noticed a black truck sitting on the opposite side of the street. Never being the one to show fear, I walked over, tapped on the glass and waited for the window to come down. When it did, I was shocked as hell.

“Tha fuck you doing here? It’s a long way from home.” I said to my father. He moved back to Jamaica a few years ago because my mom no longer wanted to be here. Unfortunately, she passed away when someone robbed the bank she was in.

“I’m here to kill my ex best friend’s daughter.”

“What? Why is that?” I was confused as shit, yet; still needed to find my girl. My phone went off and I ignored it for the moment.

“Kandy’s mother killed your mom, so it’s only right I take someone from them” He blew the smoke out his cigar.

“Pops, you know moms died in a random act of violence.” He smirked and handed me an envelope.

“When you live in the world we live in, they’re never random acts.”

  “What’s this?”

“Proof that she’s involved in your moms killing. Read it over and come see me at the Marriott when you finish doing whatever you’re about to do.” The window went up and his truck pulled off. I looked down at my phone because it kept going off. There were missed calls from Kruz’s father and a text from Kalila. I hauled ass to my car.

“What the fuck is that?” I noticed a van in front of me with a body hanging out. The person pointed something in my direction.

SWISH! I heard and watched as a MANPAD flew in my direction. It’s a small anti-aircraft missile used to target helicopters and other small things. Everything happened so fast, I had no other choice but to face the inevitable.
