“Oh, God. I can’t believe it!”
“Whitney!” Kyle grabbed her by the shoulders and gave her a little shake. “Slow down, tell us what happened.”
Court passed Ryan to Sabrina and followed Frank over to join them. Whitney was scared to death; fear glittered in her round eyes.
“The phone,” she croaked, then swallowed in an attempt to compose herself. “It was the department. It’s bad.”
Why would a call from the Department of Public Safety put Whitney in such a tizzy? Montana Confidential was a branch of that department. They likely called regularly.
“It’s a bomb,” she blurted.
Court tensed. His gaze shifted immediately to Foster.
Kyle Foster turned a deathly shade of white.
“They’ve found a bomb at the capitol building in Helena. They want all of you there ASAP!”
Court’s blood ran cold. Could Neely have had an alternate plan?
No matter what happens here today, this destiny is already set.
