Okay, maybe Lord of the Flies isn’t completely inaccurate.
There are probably more things that I dislike and you don’t, but I won’t go over all of them. People don’t have to like the same things to be friends. This isn’t junior high. (Unless you are in junior high, and then this is junior high.)
Be as individual as you want. It’s okay to be unique. And it’s okay to change your mind about what you like. So go ahead and try new things. You don’t always have to go with the flow. The important thing is that you . . . wear your seat belt.
Acknowledgments
I will now acknowledge this book. This is indeed a book that definitely exists. Whether it’s good or bad is completely up to you, dear reader. But you did read it all the way to the end, and you’re reading the acknowledgments too, so I hope that’s a sign you did enjoy it.
As this book comes to a close, I just want to thank you so much for reading it, and let me know in the comments if you think I should make another one.
Also thanks to my artists Jordan Miller, Kat Herrera, and Annie Loomis.
Thanks to my agent, Tim Travaglini, for constantly calling me to ask if the book was done yet. I appreciate that, Tim.
Thanks to my editor, Lauren Appleton, even though she told me to take out a few jokes. Probably a good call. And thanks to the whole publishing team at TarcherPerigee.
And thanks to my mom, who keeps trying to teach me correct English.
About the Author
James Rallison has been drawing comics since he was eight years old. This would be an impressive fact if the comics had been good, but they were just the average sort of eight-year-old drawings. Fortunately, he persisted with his artwork, or this wouldn’t be a very good book. (It is.) At age sixteen, James created the webcomic The Odd 1s Out, which has expanded into a YouTube channel with millions of subscribers. He lives in California with his loyal dog, Floof. So many other people also live there that rocket scientists are currently working on ways to solve the traffic problem.

* Although, some robots may prefer to keep cats as pets. Cats will totally accept robot masters as long as they keep the kibble bowl full.
* For example: the Tin Man.
* There are over 350,000 species of beetles, and entomologists think there are even more species waiting to be discovered. You should probably discover one and name it after me.
* There are ten thousand trillion ants in the world. I have no reason for telling you this fact. I just thought you should know.
