“I missed everyone, I’m sorry I couldn’t come sooner it’s just been a little busy with school but I think things are going to start cooling down now especially with exam prep so at least I’ll have more time on my hands to visit.” I tell them as I walk with them into the house.
Johnny walks into the lounge where we’re all laughing and joking. “You’ve arrived! Why didn’t someone call me?”
“Honey, we didn’t want to disturb you in your office.” Alex replies.
“You should have called me, I don’t mind being disturbed when it comes to Angel here.” he chuckles.
“Why does everyone call me Angel?” I ask out of curiosity after he hugs me and we sit down, I notice Johnny stiffen next to me before giving Alex a panicked look.
“It’s the name you were supposed to have and we thought it suited you best when you were born but Georgina decided to call you Alexia.” Alex says and I can’t help but notice the sourness in her voice when she mentions the part about Georgina, she should be happy, my parents named me after her.
“Yip, Alexia Charlie Eden…they had quite the imagination didn’t they?” I say with sarcasm.
“Charlie?” Johnny blurts out, his face softening. “Your second name is Charlie?” he sounds as if he’s in shock and his pale face confirms this.
“Yeah? They told me they were supposed to have a boy and dad wanted to name his son Charlie but I popped out so they used Charlie as my second name instead.” I tell Johnny and notice that both Alex and Johnny have huge smiles on their faces.
“No love, you were definitely supposed to be a girl. Charlie is actually my first name but everyone calls me by my second name - Johnny, which is short for Jonathan. You see my father and I share the name Charlie so it confuses everyone having to Charlie’s around so everyone adapted to calling me Johnny instead.” he explains with a proud grin on his face. “But you will always be our Angel.” he says.
“Why don’t we show her the lake?” Alex asks looking at Johnny.
“Yeah good idea, but first we have a surprise for you Angel, come with me?” Johnny says as he puts his arm over my shoulders and guides my up the stairs towards the direction where Tyler and Talons rooms are.
He walks to the room that’s next to where I slept the weekend before.
“Open and have a look at your new room.” He says with a big grin on his face, I cannot believe how much he reminds me of my father. I think its most probably because he’s a big man just like my father was, he has the whole don’t take crap thing down even though he’s got a heart of gold on the inside. I notice his eyes share the same qualities as mine do. They’re forever changing.
My eye colour tends to shift according to my mood or the weather my eyes are either a dark blue or a green colour but most of the time they are a mix between the two. When it’s really sunny like today, my eyes go more towards a vibrant blue but when it’s rainy and gloomy they are mossy green, it’s rather strange.
I blink outta my daze as I turn my attention to the door as I open it, I instantly spot the colour of the walls, my whole room is purple and black with silver trimmings it’s not a little girl’s room….it’s a room fit for a woman.
“Wow…” I sigh as I walk slowly into the room taking in my surroundings. The three walls are painted in a brilliant purple colour. Where my huge bed is, is a black wall that has Victorian patterned wallpaper in black with tints of purple and silver. My side tables are all black wood and my bed is one of those dark wood slay beds, it’s absolutely massive covered with silver silky bedding and plenty of pillows.
On the other side of my room is an antique dressing table with a huge oval mirror. I walk to the window that turns out to be doors which open up to a tiny balcony. I feel the thick soft curtains beneath my fingertips, they’re thick black lace with the same Victorian style on them. I walk to one of the doors in my room and open it to find a huge cupboard filled with clothes. I step out and take my shoes off to feel the huge fluffy silver carpet underneath my toes and I let out a giggle.
I look up to see Alex, Johnny and the twins all standing near my doorway staring at me in silence. I didn’t even realize they were there because I was too engrossed in my new room. Alex has tears running down her face with a smile and Johnny looks like he’s about to cry any moment now. The twins are smiling at me as always. I feel something wet on my cheek. I touch it and look at the teardrop on my finger.
Damn! I didn’t even realize I was crying.
I smile at them, and rush over to give Johnny a hug, I squeeze him tight. “This…this is really… my room?” I ask him.
I look at his face and see his eyes are watery, he’s trying desperately to swallow his tears away and he clears his throat.
“This is ALL yours Angel, I hope you like it, the boys mentioned that you like purple, and Alex basically designed the whole room for you. I noticed you like wearing dark colours to so I made sure she didn’t make it too girly for you.” he winks at me.
I give a weeping Alex a hug followed by the boys, “I can’t believe you guys did this for me! I’ve never had something so beautiful before, you don’t understand how much I love it! This means so much to me. I can never thank you enough!” I tell them wiping away my own tears and try to catch my breath.
“Honey we need to make up for the 17 years of your life that we missed, this is the very least we could do. We want to make you feel at home because this is your home, here…with us. Even if you don’t decide to stay here when you finish school, it will always be your room and you’re always welcome here.” This only makes me cry harder and hug her tighter.
“You haven’t seen the best part yet.” I notice Johnny roll his eyes as Talon says this and Alex giggles and shakes her head.
“Look behind door number two.” Tyler points to the door near my bed and balcony.
“I'm scared…” I say cautiously as I walk the distance, they all laugh.
I open the door and peak through only to find that it links to a bathroom, the bathroom has a huge shower and tub with a wide mirror that takes up the one wall of the bathroom by the two sinks. I let out the breath I was holding in.
“Nah-ah, open the other door.” Talon says pushing me towards it shaking his finger at me, I look behind to see naughty grins on both of their faces. I open the door just like I did the bathroom door, slowly. As I open the door I see a bed beside the same wall my bed is against, it’s someone’s room.
No not someone’s …the twins.
“Really guys? My door better have a lock on! The bathroom too!” they look at each other as if they’re up to something and then they run, each going to one of the doors and stealing the keys that were in them.
I chase after them throughout the house until I’m out of breath. “Okay, you guys win! I give up!” I laugh trying to catch my breath.
“You guys ready to go to the Lake?” Alex shouts from downstairs.
“We’re coming!” we shout back in unison.
“I’m quickly going to get my swimsuit.” I tell the boys; luckily I decided to pack it just in case.
I change into my dark purple bikini and put a halter top with the same shorts I wore earlier.
I walk out and downstairs to where everyone’s standing around the island in the kitchen. “Ready? I got a towel for you if you want to swim and we packed a picnic too!” Alex says excitedly.
We walk down a path to the lake that’s not too far; it was about a five minute walk through the woods.
The lake is absolutely breath-taking, the sun reflects off of it making the ripples of the water sparkle. We walk to the dock area that extends into the lake, there’s a few small paddle boats tied to the dock. Johnny lays out a blanket for everyone to sit on, Talon and Tyler sit on either side of me as usual and Alex and Johnny are in front of us leaning against one another.
They look so young, Alex was 15 when I was born, so that makes her about only 32 years old and she mentioned that Johnny was two years older than her so he’s mos
t probably about 34 years old plus minus. I suppose they’re still young. Alex is stunning, I can’t get over how beautiful she is and Johnny is quite handsome too, they were definitely made for each other.
“I cannot get over how alike you two are…” Johnny says looking from me and down to Alex as she rests against his chest.
Alex smiles at me as Tyler says, “Yeah she is a little version of you Luna Alex.”
“She even does that thing with her lips that you do when you’re thinking.” Johnny says talking to Alex.
“What thing?” I ask them.
“Apparently I chew the inside of my lip when I’m thinking hard about something, I don’t even realize I do it but Johnny always points it out to me.” she says pointing to the corner of her lip where she chews.
I laugh at that because my mom told me I do that a lot too with the exact same spot.
The twins and I decide to jump in for a swim when other members of the pack join us down by the dock. I take my shirt and shorts off when Alex notices my tattoos down my one side covering my ribs, the one of the roses and vines.
“Oh my! This is stunning honey!” she says as she comes closer to look at my tattoo.
“Yeah it’s a tribute to my dad.” I tell her the story about how dad would buy mom roses every week and what he would say, I notice Johnny go quiet every time I talk about my father but he is still listening attentively to every word I’m saying.
“See here, I had their names added into it …” I point to their names.
I see a hint of sorrow come over their faces when I show them my parents’ names etched to my skin, I think they felt left out. Seeing that in their faces made my heart hurt, they did so much for me already and I feel as if I truly am a part of their family.
We swim in the lake most of the day; the twins made sure none that the other guys ever came near me but I could still feel the wondering eyes on me the entire time causing uneasiness within me.
Around lunch time Johnny decided to start with the training, we first went for a run around the woods and he was quite impressed I could keep up with him. Later we went to his gym and he worked through what I’ve been already taught then he showed me some new moves. I caught up quickly and I had a good time getting to know him, we are quite similar and have a lot in common.
When afternoon came the twins asked me to go with them to fetch pizza for everyone since we were going to have a pizza night at the bonfire instead of the usual barbeque.
Every Saturday night they have a bonfire and catch up with the rest of the members of the pack that don’t live in the pack house or the houses in the vicinity. This town is larger than Point Bright and it also has its own school, a small hospital and even a college.
We park in one of the parking’s in the main street. I look at the different shops as we walk along the side walk, I immediately spot a tattoo parlor. I tell the boys I’m going to go look at the pharmacy because I need to get some “girl stuff” and they give me a look of disgust as they tell me they’ll be at the pizza place.
I wait for them to walk off and I run into the tattoo parlor knowing exactly what I want done.
I walk into the shop and look at the different art work that blanket the walls, it’s pretty amazing …of course most of the art is mostly of wolves, nature and moons but I still love it.
“Hi can I help you?” a man asks and as I turn around, he asks me again, “Are you related to Alex by any chance?” he looks at me as if he recognizes me.
“Is it that obvious?” I laugh.
“Yeah, damn you two look alike!” he looks at me with astonishment.
“She’s actually my aunt and Jonny’s my uncle.” I smile at him.
“You’re Alpha Johnny’s niece?” he asks in surprise.
“Yip! I’m guessing you’re also a…you know…” I whisper.
“Yeah I am.” he asks then he smells the air and states with wide eyes, “…but you’re not? You’re a human? How?” he asks confused.
“You will have to ask Johnny about that.” I tell him.
“Of course, of course, what can I do for you young lady?” he asks me and I explain everything to him exactly how I want it and that I don’t have much time.
I walk out of the tattoo parlor with a sense of achievement, loving the adrenaline that’s passing through my body and the feel of the raw skin after the tattoo has been imprinted on you. I can’t wait to show them.
The boys were still getting pizza; they had to collect quite a lot of pizza for everyone so I knew it would take a while before they were done.
I walk into the packed pizzeria and look for the twins but I can’t seem to find them. After hearing loud laughter, I spot them sitting with two girls and a few boys that seem to be around their age.
Talon waves me over motioning for me to sit on his lap but instead I sit next to red haired guy and smirk at Talon sitting opposite me. Tyler, who is sitting on the other side of the guy next to me, chuckles at the stunned look on Talons face.
I take it another step further and introduce myself to the guy next to me with a wink and a handshake. I can just hear the twin’s low growls that make the red haired boy withdraw his hand sheepishly.
That’s for stealing my room keys ….suckers.
Talon tries to get back at me by asking me in a sarcastic tone, “Did you get what you were looking for?” he smirks.
“Actually I didn’t need anything… I just wanted to look around without you two hovering over me like I’m a dog on heat.” I tease and they give me a dramatic surprised expression.
The other guys at the table laugh and well… the girls give me death glares as if to say, How dare I say that to these two beautiful creatures?
“She’s tiny but she has a mouth on her! I’m in love!” Carl, the guy that’s sitting next to me, pipes up with a look of lust in his eyes.
“Carl don’t you dare look at her like that, she’s ours!” Talon growls only loud enough for the table to hear, Carl bows his head as if the twins have some sort of power over him. Clearly this group belongs to Johnny’s pack.
“Excuse me? What do you mean she’s yours? What about me?” the blond chick that’s pressed against Talon’s side whines.
“Me too! Tyler I thought we were together? What’s going on, why is your brother saying that? Do you guys share her? Why don’t you share me?” Blondie number two that’s now on Tyler’s lap complains desperately.
My body bouncing in my seat as I laugh at these pathetic girls.
“You both know the deal with us and it’s only about sex, we don’t want a relationship. The only girl we will ever share is Angel.” Talon says and winks at me, however it doesn’t have the effect on me that he was hoping. It disgusts me that these guys could treat women like that. I give them both a look showing them just how appalled I am as I talk to the girls that are clearly upset.
“Ladies, are you serious? Why do you want them so bad? You two are pretty girls, why do you belittle yourselves for the sake of being with them? Don’t you see you deserve better? No one deserves to be treated like a piece of meat! You can’t possibly be happy with these two if THAT’S the way they treat you? What happens one day when you meet the right guy and they don’t want you because you two have been whoring yourselves to guys who treat you like shit? Have yourselves some self-respect! One day you’re going to find the perfect guy for and it will be the best day of your lives when he only wants you and it won’t only be about sex but he will actually want a relationship with you, so don’t waste your precious time and body on pathetic jerks like these two!” I lecture, the boys at the table are clearly shocked, their faces are filled with regret and their now tan faces are rather pale.
The two girls push their way out from table and come up to me.
”You know what? You’re absolutely right!” The one says as she gives me a hug and thanks me; the other soon follows her friend and gives me a hug too.
I turn to the two idiots who are sitting alone at this point,
they still seem to be in shock.
“What is wrong with you two? Why treat them like that? You think I’m ever going to be with guys who treat women like you just did? You are sadly mistaken if you think I will. What happens one day when your mate finds out how you’ve treated women? Do you honestly think that they will want you?” I shake my head at them in disappointment.
I note the pained look on their faces as I mention their mate.
“You two honestly need to sort your shit out. If I ever see you treat girls like shit again I swear I will be very upset with you two.” I walk outside to get some air and leave them to think about what I said.
I sit on a bench outside but as soon as I sit down Talon and Tyler are already on either side of me with sad looks on their faces.
“You’re right love, we shouldn’t treat woman like that.” Tyler says.
“We’re sorry, forgive us?” Talon says giving me a hug, followed by a hug from Tyler.
“Let just get these pizzas okay? It’s starting to get dark and I’m guessing everyone is starved.” We collect the pizzas and carry them over to their pick-up truck.
“Damn! How many people are coming tonight?” I moan as I unload the pizzas in the back seat, leaving me to sit between the boys in the front.
“A heck load of people, we are the biggest pack down here–” Tyler says.
“And the most powerful pack.” Talon interjects.
“Really?”
“Yeah we are the most powerful pack. Alpha has taken over a couple other packs close by that have been run poorly by their previous Alphas making our territory large and powerful.” Talon explains.
CHAPTER 20:
We arrive at the pack house to see lot of cars parked in front of the houses. I can see the light from the bon-fire in the back yard of the main pack house. There seems to be people everywhere. I tell the boys that I’m going to shower and get ready so they take the pizza boxes from my hands.
Making my way through the crowd to get to my room, I’m surrounded by people I’ve never met before and they all seem to be giving me strange looks and dressed rather formally. Finally reaching my room I look through my cupboard at all the new clothes Alex picked out for me.
