Riding the Timberline Page 10

by Neil Hunter

A US Marshal had been summoned to take charge and he had already organized other lawmen to join with him to ride to the Callender enclave and deal with it. Cassie Marchant had given explicit directions where the place could be found and the official law force had already left.

Marchant was directed to the doctor’s office where he was reunited with his recovering daughter. His visit was lengthy as Cassie gave her story in great detail and as Tyrell stayed away initially her telling made Marchant realize what she had been through and how Will Tyrell had found her, dealt with her injuries and brought her across country to Madison Springs.

A way of making sure they got what they wanted and in his own mind some offering to pay for the foolishness he had garnered by the foolish wager he had made with Callender.

It took time but Tyrell and Cassie were young enough to have that time and the patience before they returned to the High Country and the promise of their future...
