Hostages of Love (Siren Publishing Allure) Page 14

by Sophie del Mar

“Fuck you.”

“No, fuck you, captain.” He grabbed Sean's hair and pulled his face up until their lips were almost touching. “I'm going to enjoy fucking your delicious body. Unfortunately, you won't be able to enjoy it because you'll be out like a light when I zap you with this Tazer.” He nodded toward Ian. “You'll be as dead to the world as Mr. Hollywood over there.”

He held Sean's chin as he turned him to face Ian's unconscious body. “Doesn't he look tasty? Maybe you'd like to fuck him too. Maybe suck his cock?”

Sean glared at him but remained silent.

Seamus traced the outline of Sean's mouth with a finger. “As for me, I can't decide which of you to screw first. I'm like a fucking kid in a candy store.”

Sean had never felt this much hatred for anyone in his life. At that moment, he wanted nothing more than to put a bullet in the man's brain.

“Enough foreplay.” He increased the pressure on Sean's chest.

Suddenly, a dark form loomed up behind the big man. A moment later, Seamus' unconscious body fell across Sean's stomach.

Gabe stood over him holding a Tazer.

“What—” Sean looked at him in confusion, not quite believing the man was actually standing there.

“Hey, captain.” Gabe smiled. “How's it going?”

Sean finally found his voice. “What are you doing here?”

“I followed you because I figured something was up. When he pinned you down, I saw the Tazer sticking out of his waistband and I grabbed it.” Gabe looked at the weapon. “This is top of the line stuff. I've never seen one this powerful before.”

Sean sighed with relief. “Thanks for following me.”

Gabe smiled. “I'd follow you anywhere.”

Sean didn't know how to respond so he remained silent.

“Let's get this motherfucker off you.” Gabe was stronger than he appeared because he managed to drag Seamus off with relative ease.

Sean reached for Ian's discarded belt. “We've got to tie him up.”

Ian's eyelids twitched and then he opened his eyes. He frowned when he saw Seamus lying next to him.

Then he looked down at his half-naked body. “Holy shit, what happened?”

Gabe looked at the belt. “This won't hold him for long.”

Sean frowned. “It's all we've got.”

Ian's voice rose an octave. “Did that guy touch me?”

“Your virtue is intact,” said Sean. “All he did was undress you.”

Ian pulled up his pants and buttoned them. “Thanks for what you did.”

“Gabe is the one who deserves your thanks. He saved both our asses. Literally.”

Ian nodded at Gabe. “Thanks, man.”

“No problem.” Gabe turned his attention to Seamus who opened his eyes and stared up at them. Gabe zapped him with the Tazer and his head lolled back.

Ian looked at Sean with a worried frown. “What are we going to do with him?”

“They'll be looking for him soon.” Gabe glanced toward the open panel above the restrooms. “And when he wakes up, he's going to be out for blood.”

“We've got to restrain and gag him.” Sean reached for his tie. “This might work as a gag.”

Gabe held up his hand. “No. We need to put him out of commission permanently.”

Sean shook his head as comprehension dawned. “We can't.”

“We're fighting for our lives here.” Gabe looked from Sean to Ian. “It's him or us. Do you think he wouldn't kill you if he had the chance? Look what he almost did to both of you.”

Sean narrowed his eyes. “We're not cold-blooded murderers.”

“Then get out of here and let me handle it.”

  “No.”

“Look, I was in prison. Do you think this is the first man I've had to kill?” Gabe's expression hardened. “When they put me behind bars, I got raped every night until I learned how to fight back. We can't let this guy escape because it decreases our chances of getting out of this situation alive.” His gaze held Sean's. “I'll take care of it. It has nothing to do with you.”

  “I can't allow it.”

“I'm not asking for your permission!” Gabe said angrily. “I'm doing it whether you agree or not.”

Sean tried to reason with him. “You don't want this on your conscience.”

“Look captain, this is just one more thing I'll have to answer for eventually. In this world or the next.”

Sean was silent as he stared at Gabe's determined face. Then he put a hand on his shoulder. “This is one thing you won't have to answer for. As far as I'm concerned, it was self-defense.”

  Ian nodded. “I agree.”

Gabe handed the gun to Sean. “You might as well be armed. Do you know how to use one of these things?”

Sean nodded. “I was in the Royal Marines.”

Gabe used the Tazer on Seamus again and he twitched and fell still.

He handed the Tazer to Ian. “Just to be on the safe side. Don't want him waking up anytime soon.”

Sean looked from the unconscious terrorist to Gabe. “Won't you need the gun?”

Gabe shook his head. “Just have to block his nose and mouth. Nothing to it.”

“Are you absolutely sure about this?”

Gabe turned away. “Just get the fuck out of here before this asshole wakes up again.”

Sean and Ian moved toward the opening above the restroom.

  “Captain—”

Sean turned back to find Gabe watching him with a thoughtful expression.

“I'm sorry about what happened in Delilah's room.” Gabe's mouth turned up at the corners. “Let me rephrase that. I'm not sorry for the pleasure you gave me as I watched you fuck the girls. I'm just sorry we chose you for our little game because you didn't deserve it.”

Sean shrugged. “Nobody twisted my arm and dragged me to that room.”

Gabe nodded. “Well, I've said my peace. But I gotta tell you, I'll never forget that night.”

Sean shook his head. “I hope I will.”

Gabe laughed. “Get the hell out of here.”

As they climbed down into the restroom, Sean heard a familiar sound coming from the depths of the airplane.

“Did you hear that?” He turned to Ian. “That's the landing gear. We're descending.”

  Chapter 28

Ian had his hand on the door.

“Wait,” said Sean. “Let's think about this a minute.”

  “I'm listening.”

“We're outnumbered and we only have one gun.”

  “And a Tazer.”

Sean nodded. “What we need is a plan.”

  “Any suggestions?”

The plane continued its descent and they both reached for the sink to steady themselves.

“Everyone is seated in preparation for landing,” Sean explained. “This is the best time to try and take back the plane.”

“How are we supposed to do that?”

Sean frowned. “Gabe was right. It's us or them. If we don't do something, they're going to kill everyone. We can't allow that, can we?”

  “Damn right.”

“All right then. You cover me. Use the Tazer on anyone who gets in the way. Then gather up the weapons.”

Ian's brow was rigid with concentration. “Do you actually have the stomach to shoot them?”

Anger flashed in Sean's eyes. “If it means saving Larissa's life, then yes I do.”

  Ian nodded.

Sean's gaze held his. “There's one more thing I need to get off my chest. Fiona is a friend of mine, and if I ever hear you've treated her like another one of your Hollywood starlets—”

“What Fiona and I have between us is none of your business,” Ian interrupted. “But if we get out of this alive, you can be my best man when I marry her.”

“If we get out of this alive, I'll return the favor.”

Sean held out his hand and Ian shook it. “I might have misjudged you. You're not quite the asshole I took you for.”

  Ian gr
inned. “Ditto.”

  Sean checked his weapon. “Ready?”

  “As I'll ever be.”

  Chapter 29

When Sean stepped into the hallway, he came face to face with one of the terrorists. The man looked at him in surprise and then raised his weapon to fire. Sean shot him in the arm and the terrorist screamed as he fell backwards. When he hit the floor, Ian used the Tazer on him. Then he picked up the gun which lay on the floor.

“The safety is off, so just point and shoot.” Sean raised an eyebrow. “But whatever you do, don't shoot me.”

Another terrorist ran towards them with his weapon raised. The bullet missed Sean's head and struck the restroom door. Sean raised his gun and aimed carefully. He shot the man in the shoulder and the impact threw him backwards. The terrorist continued to fire as a hail of bullets sprayed the roof of the airplane. Debris showered the passengers who crouched in terror. After falling to the floor, the terrorist attempted to stand up again. Sean shot him in the chest and this time he lay still.

Sean shifted into military mindset. The passengers faded into the background and he was once again in the desert where he had fought many skirmishes with his platoon.

He looked down the barrel of his gun scanning every inch of his surroundings for any sign of enemy movement.

The aircraft hit a pocket of turbulence and he grabbed one of the seats to steady himself. Glancing out the window, he saw the lights below grow larger with each passing moment. He looked up to see Gabe coming towards him with a gun pointed at Georgina's head. Lloyd followed with one beefy arm wrapped around Craig's neck. The flight attendant seemed on the verge of tears as the co-pilot held him in a tight grip.

“Is that all of them?” asked Gabe.

Sean looked around but didn't see Brian.

  Larissa!

He pushed past Gabe and ran toward first class.

Fiona sat in the front row and he hurried towards her.

  “Where's Larissa?” he asked breathlessly.

She looked up at him with tears in her eyes. “He has her.”

At that moment, Brian walked out of the cockpit with Larissa at his side. He held a gun to her abdomen. “Drop it, captain.”

Sean raised his weapon. “You drop it.”

“Do you want to get her killed?” Brian's eyes blazed with anger. “Drop the fucking gun.”

Sean's hand shook but he didn't lower his weapon. One rule he had learned in training was never relinquish a firearm under any circumstance. As long as he kept his gun, the status quo was maintained. If he gave up his weapon, there was no hope at all.

Brian's voice deepened with anger. “I'll kill her.”

Sean shook his head. “No, you won't. You love her.”

“Love her? I don't give a shit about her.”

Sean kept his gun trained on Brian's face. Could he hit him without injuring Larissa? He knew he was an excellent shot, but it had been years since he tested his skill in a real-life situation. Not since his days in the Middle East.

Ian appeared at his side and pointed his gun at Brian.

“You're outnumbered,” Sean said quietly. “It's over now.”

Brian lowered his weapon. “You're right; it's over.”

He kissed Larissa on the cheek. “But if I can't have her, you certainly won't.”

  He raised his gun again.

  Chapter 30

Brian pointed the gun at Larissa's head.

Sean had a clear shot, but still he hesitated. Could he be certain the bullet would miss Larissa? Could he hit Brian before the terrorist killed her?

“Take the shot, captain.” Gabe's voice came from behind him, low and urgent.

Sensing Sean's conflict, a slow, malicious smile spread across Brian's face. In that instant, Sean knew he would kill her.

Sean squeezed the trigger just as the plane hit the runway. The bullet went wild as everyone was thrown off their feet by the impact. Brian fell backwards, dragging Larissa with him.

Sean lunged towards him as Larissa freed herself from his grasp and crawled away.

Sean stepped on Brian's hand. “Let go of the gun.”

Brian glared at him. “Fuck you.”

He increased the pressure until Brian released his grip on the weapon. Sean kicked it away as he pulled the terrorist to his feet. Then he punched him hard across the face.

Fucker! The bastard had almost killed Larissa, the woman he loved more than life itself. Anger clouded Sean's vision and held him in its fierce grip as he slammed his fist into Brian's face again and again. Finally, Larissa put a hand on his shoulder.

  “Enough, Sean,” she said quietly.

Brian lay at his feet, his nose bloodied, his lip split open. Sean turned away in disgust as he glanced into the darkness beyond the window. Palm trees surrounded the lighted runway, and there were soldiers armed with machine guns. They waited silently for the plane to come to a stop.

He looked over at Ian and Gabe. “We've got to take back control of the cockpit and get the hell out of here.”

Gabe squeezed Georgina's arm. “Will the pilots come out after they shut down the engines?”

  She spit in his face.

Gabe wiped his cheek with the back of his hand, then twisted her arm behind her back until she cried out in pain.

He increased the pressure. “I'll break your arm, bitch.”

Her words were a sob. “They must get the all clear from Brian and then they'll come out. But not until they hear from him.”

Sean lifted Brian to his feet. “Give the pilots the all clear.”

  “Suck my dick.”

“What if they don't get the all clear from him?” asked Gabe.

“They won't come out.” Georgina's smile was triumphant. “Plan B goes into effect.”

  “What's Plan B?”

“Ground control will assume that things are well and truly fucked if they don't hear from the pilots in a certain amount of time. After the deadline, they're under orders to storm the plane.”

Sean frowned. “What's our final destination?”

  “Washington D.C. The White House.”

Everyone was silent as they absorbed the significance of her words.

Sean dragged Brian toward the cockpit door. “Give them the all clear.”

Brian's bloody mouth twisted into a smirk. “And if I don't?”

Sean had no answer for that.

Gabe took out a cigarette and lit it. “If you don't, then we'll see how long you can stand a lit cigarette against the back of your neck.”

Brian laughed. “I said it before and I'll say it again. Fuck you.”

Fiona stepped forward. “Let me do it.”

Her eyes flashed with anger. “Don't you want to know what it feels like, daddy? You asked me what it felt like when you held a cigarette to my feet all those years ago. Now it's your turn to find out for yourself.”

Brian's mask of bravado slipped. “Get her away from me.”

“Sounds like the lady has some unfinished business with you.” Gabe took a puff on the cigarette. “I say we let her have a go at you.”

A wild light danced in Fiona's eyes, and her voice was a wave of cold fury. “Nothing would please me more.”

Brian's eyes widened as Gabe handed her the cigarette.

“Keep her away from me,” he stammered. “Look at her eyes; she's crazy.”

Fiona's mouth turned up at the corners. “It's payback time, Daddy. That's what you asked me to call you while you were hurting me. Do you remember, Daddy?”

She stepped forward and Brian turned to Sean. “I'll give them the all clear. Just keep her away from me.”

“I say we let her have him just for the fun of it.” Gabe chuckled. “Payback's a bitch, ain't it? But so satisfying.”

“No.” Brian's eyes were large as he looked around. “I'll do whatever you ask.”

“If you do a good job convincing them, maybe I'll keep Fiona away from you.” Sean's voice radiated menace. “But I swear i
f you fuck up, I'm going to let her go after you until this plane smells like frying bacon.”

“I'll do it,” said Brian. “I'll make it convincing; I swear.”

Sean stood to one side as Brian pressed the intercom. He cleared his throat and then said, “It's all clear guys. Time to enjoy the island's hospitality.”

A few moments later, Jean-Claude and Christopher strolled out of the cockpit. Before the smiles died on their faces, Sean and the other men knocked them to the floor.

Gabe took the cigarette from Fiona's trembling hand as she burst into tears. Ian gathered her into his arms, soothing her with soft words as he led her back to her seat.

Sean drew Larissa into his arms and kissed her.

  “My baby,” he whispered.

“Oh Sean, I was so frightened.”

Brian watched them with unconcealed hatred.

Gabe grabbed Brian's arm. “I found the air marshal's handcuffs. I'll cuff him to the seat and let the cops in New York handle it. The pilots don't appear to have any military training, so they're no threat to us.”

  Sean nodded. “Good work.”

He turned to Larissa. “I've got to go, but I'll see you the moment we reach New York. We have a date, remember?”

Her eyes were bright with unshed tears. “I'm counting the seconds.”

Sean and Lloyd walked into the cockpit and sat down behind the controls. They started the process of powering up the engines in preparation for take-off.

Lloyd looked at the soldiers who lined both sides of the airstrip. “Do you think those guys will shoot at us if we try to take off?”

“I don't know,” said Sean. “But I hope what they say about this plane is true.”

  “What do they say?”

“That if you cut off the wings, you could use it as a tank.”

  Chapter 31

“All systems are operational,” said Lloyd. “Ready for take-off.”

Sean glanced at him. “Lloyd, I'm glad you're in the right-hand seat on this flight. You kept your head and didn't fall apart.”

“Thanks.” Lloyd held his gaze for a moment. “But you're the one who kept your head.”

“Well, we're not out of the woods yet.”
